A band of rain, with the potential for thunder, moving north over central and northern areas. Showers in the west continue, eastern areas largely dry. A slightly cooler night than previous. A sunny Monday morning for most, showers develop across the west and spread eastward. - This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the evening of 07/09/2025. 00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. The
00:03week ahead is shaping up to be unsettled for all of us. At times we'll see some
00:08further spells of rain and showers move across the UK. The lion's share of the
00:12rain will be out towards the north and west of the UK with the best of any
00:15drier and brighter moments really reserved across many eastern parts of
00:19the country. And that's really how we're going to end the weekend. We've still got
00:22this band of rain moving its way northwards across many northern and
00:25central parts. Again, could be some heavy and thundery bursts on it at times. But
00:30behind it still some showers out towards the west but many eastern areas stand
00:34largely dry with the best of the clear skies. Temperatures overnight slightly
00:39lower than what we saw on Saturday night but I think most towns and cities still
00:43staying in double figures as we start Monday morning. So for most of us on
00:47Monday it's a lovely start today, lots of sunshine around, still got the overnight
00:51rain to clear across the very far north eastern corner of Scotland and then
00:55showers quickly developing across the west and they will then gradually spread
00:58their way eastwards across many parts as the day goes on. Most frequent out
01:02towards the west with some of these showers potentially on the heavy and
01:05thundery side. Still bit of a breeze up towards the northwest but I think for most
01:10of us winds generally light throughout the course of the day and that will help
01:14with the feel of things in the sunshine especially down towards the
01:16southeast highs reaching around 21 or 22 degrees so not as warm as the
01:20weekend but I still think be fairly pleasant out there if you are in the
01:24sunshine. Into the evening hours very little changes still gonna see further
01:28showers across the west any showers in the east quickly fade in the way as we go
01:33past dusk and then towards the very end of the night we start then see winds
01:37begin to pick up down towards the southwestern corner ahead of this next
01:40band of rain which will move in during the course of Tuesday. So under the
01:44clear skies a fairly cool night in the countryside but again I think most towns
01:48and cities just holding up into double figures as we start Tuesday morning. So for
01:53most of us it's a lovely start to the day again lots of sunshine around. Different
01:57story down towards Cornwall we've got this band of cloud and rain moving in
02:00that will gradually spread its way eastwards into parts of Wales and Northern
02:04Ireland too as the day goes on. But ahead of it lots of sunshine around still
02:08cloud bubbling up a little bit and could just produce the odd shower but I think
02:12most of us across northern eastern and central parts of the UK staying dry
02:16throughout Tuesday. And in the sunshine temperatures once again reaching the low
02:2120s in the east but under the cloud and rain across the west it may feel a little
02:25bit cooler than it has done of late. But if you want more information about the
02:29weather for the week ahead you can always check out our social media channels
