00:00Just off the west coast of Florida in the Gulf, so what happens is areas of low pressure, they rotate counterclockwise.
00:06And that counterclockwise motion to the north, you get winds blowing from east to west.
00:11South of an area of low pressure, you get winds up below from west to east.
00:16And because of that, we are seeing just this conveyor of moisture here streaming across central and southern parts of Florida.
00:22And it's that moisture that's providing all the fuel for these showers and storms to sustain and in some cases intensify.
00:28And that intensification is what we are primarily watching out for.
00:32We could see, so far we haven't seen any severe thunderstorm warnings.
00:34That's the good news.
00:35But as you can see, over the past hour or so, there hasn't really been much movement of any of these heavy rain-making thunderstorms.
00:42So flooding rainfall is going to be the biggest potential threat that we track here as we head throughout the rest of this evening and as we head into tonight.
00:49Across the rest of the region here, we're going to be watching out for what we are calling a dry spell.
00:53And it's not just for Friday, it's not just for Saturday, but even as we head throughout Monday,
00:58we're going to be watching out for little to no rainfall as an area of high pressure just takes over the forecast here across the southeast.
01:05So for Friday, yes, there will be those showers and storms, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, all the way down through south Florida.
01:12We'll also be watching out for, you can see here, a little area of some showers possible across the Carolina coastal area.
01:17So we'll be watching that trend as well heading into your Friday afternoon.
