00:00Previously on Project Runway New Zealand.
00:04The competition's getting harder.
00:06I can't wait to see the next person go home.
00:10You'll be creating an avant-garde look that will be inspired by the whole Nastra.
00:15What am I doing?
00:16Do it.
00:16I'll be ensuring.
00:17Just do it.
00:18I think other designers definitely underestimated me at first.
00:22I look at you in your chic neoprene.
00:25I really like duties.
00:28Nothing about what I do is avant-garde.
00:30I feel really out of my depth.
00:32Last week I was in the bottom too.
00:34And I'm wondering if they're making me a second guess in my own judgement.
00:36You're creating a very similar idea.
00:39It's the last challenge.
00:42It looks so expensive.
00:44You certainly know how to make a gown, Judy.
00:47The bottom lets it down.
00:49There's enough going on up here to take off the necklace.
00:52It feels like there's a lot of ideas that aren't coming together harmoniously.
00:56We asked you to deliver and you did.
00:58Congratulations, you're the winner of this week's challenge.
01:03Oh, definitely wasn't avant-garde.
01:06Caitlin, you're in.
01:08You can need the runway.
01:09If it's my time, then it's my time.
01:12It's really out of my control.
01:14I'm not used to functioning on so little sleep.
01:29I have a very strange amount of energy this morning.
01:33I know, you really do.
01:35It's quite irritating this morning.
01:37I'm here and I'm here to have fun.
01:39It's a competition and I want to win it, but I still want to make the most of it.
01:43You want to elevate yourself and push yourself every week to win.
01:48How do you guys feel after last night's elimination, eh?
01:52Very sad to see Bogo.
01:54I feel like he still had a lot more to do.
01:57Once again, I was surprised what the judges thought avant-garde was.
02:03Totally agreed with yours. Yours was beautiful.
02:05I think that Judy has done two really good things, but I don't know how much further
02:11she will be able to take it with her experience.
02:14You need the talent also, which I have.
02:16I wonder how Benny feels today.
02:19I think he's probably feeling pretty bloody lucky.
02:21Yeah.
02:22He didn't present something that he was proud of, so.
02:25It was blimmin' awful.
02:27Another day in the limelight.
02:31It sucks being in the bottom.
02:32Again.
02:34I have so much to give.
02:35I have so much more to offer.
02:39I've been given another chance, but this will be the last chance.
02:43So I better step my game up.
02:52Hello, designers.
02:55How are you feeling?
02:56Good.
02:57Last week, you absolutely blew us away.
03:02Judy.
03:03Well done.
03:05Jess.
03:06It was a really close one.
03:07I can't wait to see what you've got in store for us this week.
03:12It's a halfway mark.
03:13Oh, wow.
03:14The competition has well and truly begun, and it's only going to get tougher.
03:19So far, this competition has been really stressful.
03:22I'm really frustrated with myself.
03:24I've been given a second chance, so I want to give it my all and make myself and everyone else proud.
03:30I'm sending you off to meet Andreas, but will you be able to see the wood from the trees?
03:37See you soon.
03:46Where are we going, guys?
03:48How do you deal with the forest?
03:51Cows.
03:54Oh, that's sheep.
03:57I've been in the city too long.
03:58This car is so nice to drive.
04:03I can't wait to own it.
04:16We arrive in the forest.
04:18I'm wearing white.
04:18I've got dirt all over my shoes.
04:21I'm totally not dressed for the situation.
04:23What the heck is going on here?
04:29As you've probably already noticed, the trees have been wallpaper bombed with the Resine wallpaper collection.
04:36For this challenge, you'll be creating a high-end fashion look that will be inspired by one of the wallpapers.
04:45Immediately, my eye catches this lever print.
04:47I definitely want this in my own home.
04:49I would just love to be surrounded by it.
04:52You're being inspired by the wallpaper in relationship to the context of it.
04:57What does it feel like?
04:59You know, if it's a floral, what's it suggesting?
05:02It can be directly from the actual design.
05:05If you want to recreate onto fabric, you can, but the wallpaper influences the design.
05:12That's the tricky bit of how you're going to do that.
05:15For this challenge, I'm automatically thinking of shapes that I can create and the colours that I can use.
05:20This is a one-and-a-half-day challenge, and you've got $150 to spend at the fabric store.
05:26Don't forget to use the Resine test pots. There's only one wallpaper each.
05:31I really want either the white one with the black lines or the silver one with the lemurs.
05:42So you're going to have to be really quick to get the one that you want.
05:45I want the graffiti one, and I'm going to get it.
05:49Are you ready? Go!
05:54Run my skinny little legs.
05:57I'm getting to the tree first.
05:58I can see Benny running right next to me, and I have a feeling that he's going for the same thing.
06:06Thankfully, he was going right past.
06:09I got my lemurs.
06:16Everyone runs past, and I'm left with one of the last ones standing.
06:20This wallpaper doesn't inspire me. It actually makes me feel kind of sad.
06:30Jess and Caitlin are fighting for that gold palm leaf, ugly wallpaper.
06:39Honestly, these girls are so headstrong, someone's going to rip that tree out of the ground, I swear.
06:44Coming up on Project Runway New Zealand.
06:47This challenge is perfect for me.
06:49I don't understand what my fashion is.
06:51One stitch can me up.
06:54It's a really effective look.
06:56It's just great.
06:58There's some problems with this outfit.
07:00I wrote down Teletubby.
07:03Are you ready? Go!
07:13I got it first.
07:17And I'm one with the tree.
07:19I'm not going to give up that wallpaper without a fight.
07:22I definitely got there first.
07:24I thought you'd be happy with any of them, you said.
07:27I just put it out to the universe that I was getting that tree.
07:29We need an instant replay over here. It was definitely me.
07:33Yeah, let's go frame by frame.
07:34Could you see who's quite got their arm in front?
07:37Neck and neck.
07:38They're neck and neck.
07:39No, no, Caitlin's just there by whisper.
07:42It looks like it's...
07:45It's Caitlin.
07:46Oh, I think it's Caitlin, actually.
07:48Look at the game.
07:51Jess and Caitlin are crazy.
07:54Jess isn't happy.
07:56She can get a little bit pissy.
07:58Yep.
07:59Oh, I was going to hug you.
08:03I want to win.
08:04I'm here to win.
08:05Why would I want to hug you?
08:07And if I don't win, I think I will be quite pissed.
08:12I don't know what I want to do.
08:16I want to do a print for one of them, I think.
08:18Mm-hmm.
08:18But I'm not sure.
08:19My wallpaper is like a carpet bag style floral print.
08:24It's like really textured, which is so cool.
08:27I would not swap now because of how secure I feel in my own ability to design something fit to breathe.
08:35As soon as I saw the golden white, it's a wallpaper.
08:40I could see a really glam beach home.
08:43So I think the direction I'll go in is high-end resort wear.
08:48The first thing that I noticed about my wallpaper, it's super colourful.
08:51And, you know, last week I did black, so I wanted to go back towards my colourful side.
08:55For me, I don't want to make, like, a boring shirt or a boring pair of pants.
08:59I'm thinking maybe I'll try and recreate it.
09:02It might make some more interesting shapes.
09:04So this week, I'm going to do 100% candy.
09:12Is everybody happy with their choices?
09:13Yep.
09:14I love mine.
09:16We all went for different ones too, except for the two girls.
09:20Showdown.
09:21There's a lot of really strong designers with really strong visions,
09:24so this competition only gets harder and harder.
09:29You've got half an hour, go and get some fabulous fabric.
09:41I know exactly what I want when I'm looking for my fabric.
09:43This challenge is perfect for me.
09:46I'm always making high fashion.
09:48I feel that that gives me an edge this week.
09:50I'm looking for something pretty.
09:53Make sure you choose something sensible, okay?
09:55Not like last week.
09:56I know, right?
09:58Last week, I lost a little bit of confidence because being in the bottom.
10:01I'm going with, like, earthy, like, really earthy colours.
10:05I'm worried about using colours that aren't in my wallpaper.
10:09I've just got to stick with my gut.
10:11If I screw up again, then...
10:14Cheer later, Benny.
10:15Bye, Benny.
10:17Okay, designers, get a move on.
10:18You've got 10 minutes left.
10:20I mean, I don't understand what the f*** high fashion is.
10:23So high fashion is something I've got absolutely no idea about.
10:27I'm still stuck in the fifties, mate.
10:29I dress for what I like.
10:31I don't care what anybody else thinks.
10:33I'm not exactly the most fashionable person.
10:36Let's see how hard I can push it.
10:37The last time I put it down, I've got to take it.
10:43Designers, your time's up.
10:55Energy.
10:55Oh, we've been moved again.
10:57Pretty good day.
10:58Ooh, facing this way this time.
11:01Challenge six.
11:02What are you doing?
11:06I'm just trying to colour match.
11:08And that matches pretty well, isn't it?
11:10Are you painting your fabric as well?
11:11I don't know.
11:15Ben doesn't want to tell anybody about what he's doing.
11:17It's a competition and he wants to win.
11:22How you doing?
11:25Oh, slowly getting there.
11:28As a very indecisive person, my designs changed like probably four or five times.
11:33I have no idea if this will turn out.
11:35My first concept is like a tight-fitting dress with sleeves with like geometric lines over it
11:41and then each panel will be like a different colour.
11:44I'm just doubting my design.
11:45Like, is it interesting enough?
11:47Is it like high-end enough?
11:48Oh God, why did I do this?
11:52What?
11:52The dinosaur sleeve.
11:55If you wanted to be a dinosaur, get to the green paint and start painting it.
12:02I can't believe it's $26 a meter.
12:06I'm one of the only people that isn't painting fabric.
12:10I'm making jacket, dress and earrings.
12:13The key piece is going to be my jacket.
12:16It's the only printed fabric that's there and it's going to be quite overwhelming hopefully.
12:22What are you making?
12:23I'm just cutting out shapes to make my pattern pieces.
12:26As you do.
12:27The judges have told me I need to step back and edit my work so
12:30I'm just not sure if it's going to be too much of it.
12:32That is quite a cool wallpaper.
12:34It's very textured.
12:38How are you going?
12:38Yeah, good.
12:39Just trying to get my body shaved.
12:41So I'm thinking I'm going to go down a beautiful sleek luxe suit.
12:45I've chosen some silver fabric for my base and I'm going to paint certain parts of the wallpaper onto it.
12:50I'm going to take the stripes off the lemur and maybe do that as an underlayer.
12:54Just hopefully have a high-fashion look to this.
12:57Cool.
12:58So I'll make the jumpsuit out of that and this will be gathered.
13:02I'm making a poncho slash cape top and then I'm making a bodysuit that will be futuristic.
13:13Sounds complicated.
13:15I've done a bit for it.
13:17No, I haven't.
13:18I'll watch my best friend do it.
13:20The judges are looking closely at our garments.
13:23One stitch can me up.
13:28Do you have an idea?
13:32More or less.
13:32I more or less know what I'm doing.
13:37I am doing a skirt and a crop top.
13:41I want to kind of watercolour the resin paint through my garment.
13:45It has to look right and not like someone just like threw up on it.
13:48Like it has to look good.
13:50I'm a little worried for Beth.
13:53She's got this really strong 1950s aesthetic that she likes to do.
13:57What are your other colours?
14:00It's a bit nipple.
14:02So her outfit this week is totally out of her comfort zone.
14:06Can I steal a little bit of that one?
14:08Are you using the whole thing?
14:11I really have no idea what I'm doing.
14:14Coming up on Project Runway New Zealand.
14:17I just need to call you because I up.
14:21People be losing their stuff today.
14:25I just feel so lost.
14:27It's just not fashionable.
14:29She's obviously had a bad week and it shows.
14:31This one again will be interesting because so many people are using paint.
14:48It could just be a disaster for some people.
14:50It could be a bloody disaster for me for all I know.
14:52It could be a bit of a problem.
15:00Benjamin, what are you doing with the shaving cream?
15:03Magic.
15:05Marvelling.
15:05You can actually do it with shaving cream.
15:07You put the paint or whatever and then you kind of swirl it in there.
15:10Then you put your fabric on, take the fabric off and scrape it off.
15:16I'm going to make a billowing sleeve dress with a square neckline.
15:21It kind of floats out with matching trousers underneath.
15:25And I'm going to marble the entire fabric.
15:29But I haven't done it on a large scale like I'm doing.
15:32So it could just look like crap.
15:36When I make something different it makes me feel amazing.
15:39I'm very new to this so it's good to start learning what I'm actually capable of doing.
15:46Good morning designers.
15:47Good morning.
15:48This is looking like a textile studio today.
15:50It's great.
15:51I'm looking forward to seeing you and I'll do the rounds okay.
15:55You've got my favorite wallpaper.
15:58What are you doing with it?
15:59I'm trying to make a top and a pair of pants.
16:01And I've taken some of the botanical aspects of it.
16:04And I'm going to stick some of that onto the garment.
16:07When you look at the print it's so dynamic.
16:11You've designed something that's very very controlled.
16:14And I just think it might need a bit more room for your creatures to roam around.
16:21I've put the monkey and kept them in.
16:25Yeah you have.
16:26Let him loose.
16:27Let him loose.
16:28Get him out of the cage.
16:29Yep.
16:29I'm using this to make a jacket and then I'm making a dress out of these two tones of merino.
16:36When you look at something like this you almost want to throw yourself in there.
16:40They're soft and rich and comforting.
16:44Yeah.
16:45kind of like your nana.
16:46Yeah.
16:46You know.
16:47I think it's important that the jacket or the coat also feels like that.
16:51Okay.
16:51And if you've got more of this.
16:53Use it.
16:53I think you should.
16:54Use all of it.
16:55Yeah.
16:55Yeah.
16:56Okay.
16:57We're changing the jacket.
17:02That's going to be cotton shorts which I'm doing the stenciling.
17:05Essentially you're going to recreate the wallpaper on the fabric.
17:08Okay yeah.
17:09I do think it needs to be a little bit more extravagant.
17:13I mean originally I really wanted to do pants in this.
17:16That's why I got so much of the cotton.
17:18Pants would be much better than shorts.
17:20I know.
17:20But how the F am I going to stencil out some of that.
17:26Be brave.
17:27Yeah.
17:27I know you can.
17:28You have to do it.
17:29Yeah.
17:29Okay.
17:32I'm going to be using the same shape on the bodysuit which I'm pleading in this and that shape.
17:39Well it's very dramatic.
17:40It's kind of got like a futuristic-y feel.
17:43I can't wait to see it.
17:46But the critical thing for you is making absolutely sure that it is really precisely constructed.
17:55No weird hems.
17:56The skirt is the problem.
17:59No unfinished things.
18:01It just seems quite unresolved.
18:04It just looks a little bit unfinished.
18:06Right.
18:07I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:11I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:12I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:14I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:15I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:17I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:19I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:20I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:22I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:24I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:25I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:26I am worried about making a bodysuit.
18:28And the whole guy says I have always had conditions."
18:30I have never thought too much on top.
18:34And how long is the dress?
18:35What does the dress look like?
18:37I am afraid of pemplaying elementos.
18:39Okay.
18:40Right, okay.
18:41Try some things out first so you can get a clear idea of what you try to do.
18:46Yeah.
18:46Because it is too late once you have done it.
18:50That was a very lengthy process.
18:55From the wallpaper I pulled some of the colours, and I thought of sort of watercolouring them, so mixing the resine paint with water.
19:05It's kind of a slightly abstracted version of these. Maybe take it a bit further.
19:12Give yourself some time to actually work on the textile element of it, because it's absolutely critical to get the look right.
19:19A bit more artefacts about it.
19:22Yeah, in your words.
19:25Hi Andreas, how are you?
19:27Good, thanks, good. I see you've got the vintage one. How are you going to interpret this?
19:33To be honest, I'm kind of struggling with this challenge, like...
19:37What are you worrying about?
19:38I don't know, I just feel lots of pressure on myself, like, for myself to do well.
19:42But you are doing well.
19:44Everything just feels a bit overwhelming. We're, like, almost halfway through the time, and I don't have anything yet.
19:51Remember you've got immunity.
19:52This is a great opportunity. You've absolutely got nothing to lose, because you can't, okay?
20:00Gracie's got a smell like bloody shaving cream.
20:11Hi!
20:13Hello!
20:14I'm still here.
20:15Pants and bits of the dress.
20:21Gracie is back. If anyone can wear this bloody painted outfit, it's her.
20:26Oh, well, the pant's perfect.
20:28Oh.
20:29That is high fashion.
20:32Hey, there it is.
20:37Shade from Penny.
20:38Watch out.
20:39So, bottom two last week, on the comeback.
20:52Andreas pointed out in my critique that I can do more.
20:56So, I've changed my designs.
20:58I'm going to have to make a massive stencil for huge pants.
21:01I've never done anything like this before.
21:04I'm not into print.
21:05I'm not into paint.
21:06I'm not into pattern.
21:07It's not me, but I need to go for it.
21:10Oh, shit.
21:13What did you do with my scissors?
21:19Poor people have been losing their stuff today.
21:22I'm very aware of what it's like to work long hours.
21:27There is pressure to try and be better than everybody else in the room.
21:30You just kind of over-critique yourself.
21:32And under that pressure, people do crumble.
21:38I just need to call you.
21:40A bit nervous this week.
21:43Oh, because I f***ed up.
21:44A bit nervous this week.
21:59As a little boy, I was watching TV, and I watched a fashion show.
22:05I decided right then and there that that's what I wanted to do.
22:09Pressure is quite tough.
22:12I needed a little pep talk.
22:14Well, you can get a s*** together.
22:16Get a cram.
22:18You've got to do it.
22:19Yeah.
22:20That's all I needed.
22:22I came onto this competition.
22:23It's to tell my story.
22:25To make an impact and to make history in where I come from.
22:30Well, good talking to you, and thank you.
22:33Love you.
22:34Love you, too.
22:35Love you, too.
22:35Love you, too.
22:36Love you, too.
22:36Love you, too.
22:36Love you, too.
22:37Love you, too.
22:38Oh, come here, Santa.
22:38See you, though.
22:39I've got so much to do.
22:40Ah, awake.
22:47Run my day.
22:52Oh, come here, Santa.
22:55I've got so much to do, I don't know if I'm going to pull this off.
22:59Oh, Cammy's running.
23:00The usual Cam, running around in the morning, getting everything done.
23:03Just a mad dash.
23:06I am pretty much finished.
23:08I'm just hoping that the fact that I've finished a bit earlier than everybody else
23:11is a positive thing and not a detriment to me.
23:18How are you going, Judy?
23:19We've got a new design, so we're starting again.
23:24So this morning I was just, like, struggling again.
23:28You know, having to make a dress last minute.
23:32So, yeah, I'm still lost.
23:35Oh, no.
23:37Sorry.
23:43Judy, are you okay?
23:47Poor Judy.
23:48We're coming up to final hour now.
23:50I feel like the original dress that she was working on looked really good
23:53and I don't know why she changed her mind.
23:55No, I absolutely hate it.
23:58It's way too late to think about that.
24:00So just get it finished and get it on the runway.
24:02It's not about going home or not.
24:05It's just about designing something I love.
24:07And being proud of what I designed.
24:11Come on, shake it off.
24:13Come back at home.
24:14Good morning, designers.
24:21Good morning.
24:22Good morning.
24:23Things are looking interesting, at least.
24:25You've got two hours for final touch-ups.
24:27You'll be taking your models to the Maybelline Beauty Zone and to the Schwarzkopf Hair Studio.
24:33Use the Kiwi Property accessory wall.
24:35Okay, make sure you've got some really lovely little details from there.
24:38And I'll see you soon.
24:40Bye.
24:40Cool.
24:48Okay, let me actually do that.
24:51That's awful.
24:53I expect it should be out like this.
24:56That looks really cool.
24:57Come have a look in the map.
25:00I need to take it in.
25:04You have to do.
25:06You have to.
25:07I love it.
25:08Cool.
25:09No, it's really?
25:10Yeah, I love it.
25:10Yeah, it looks amazing.
25:11Amazing.
25:15She is having a bright red lip, something like this.
25:18Awesome.
25:19She is having a smoky eye.
25:21We smolder that eye with a layering of pencil.
25:24And then I'm thinking, a mix-up of these two, what do you think?
25:27Are Superstay matte inks?
25:29Sounds perfect, Gigi.
25:34I think maybe just like yours.
25:36The high bun.
25:37Sounds perfect.
25:38The best product to give that look would definitely be the Super Styling Lacquer.
25:42Perfect.
25:43Easy peasy.
25:51It's the last bit of my jump, so saving it for the very last minute.
25:57I'm just stitching you into your top.
25:59Cozy as hell.
26:00Make it work.
26:11Designers, time's up.
26:13Let's get to the runway.
26:14Follow me now.
26:15Come on, guys.
26:16Let's go.
26:17Let's go.
26:21I'm not ready to go home.
26:23I'm sick of being in the bottom.
26:24I want to win a f***ing challenge.
26:27The winner of Project Runway will win their very own Holden Nastra.
26:36Stylish and elegant from every angle.
26:39A cash prize of $50,000.
26:42And the winning designer and model will receive a photo shoot and six-page fashion editorial
26:49and fashion quarterly magazine.
26:51It just so happens that my birthday soul's in here at Project Runway.
27:05It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be here.
27:09It's got to make the most of it.
27:13Hopefully, I don't get going home from the runway as my birthday present.
27:17Hello, designers.
27:23Hi.
27:25How was this week's challenge?
27:27Good.
27:27Very good.
27:28Beth, a little birdie told me it may be your birthday.
27:32Yes.
27:32Happy birthday.
27:34You haven't won a challenge yet.
27:37Today may be the day.
27:38Fingers crossed.
27:41This week's challenge was all about colour.
27:43And you were asked to create a high fashion runway design influenced by the Resine Wallpaper
27:50and Paint Collection.
27:53Benny, you're in the bottom last week.
27:55Sorry to bring it up.
27:56But how are you feeling today?
27:58I'm feeling a lot more confident now and gutted to be in the bottom again.
28:03So, back to focus and ready to rock.
28:07Okay.
28:07There are nine of you here.
28:09And after tonight, there will only be eight.
28:13Now, let me introduce you to our judges.
28:16Editor of Fashion Quarterly, Sally-Ann Mullen.
28:19Hi, designers.
28:19Hi.
28:21Designer and Director for World, Benny Castles.
28:24Hi, designers.
28:25Hi.
28:26And our special guest judge, fashion designer and founder of Stolen Girlfriends Club, Mark
28:31Moore.
28:32Hey, guys.
28:33Hi.
28:34Remember, we have an anonymous runway show.
28:37So, the judges won't know which designer created which look.
28:42Are you ready to start the show?
28:44Yes.
28:45Awesome.
28:55I'm having regrets about their stomach.
28:58Like a pregnant woman walking down the runway.
29:01I'm cringing at this point.
29:17With my garment, there's nothing that I'm worried about, apart from maybe there is not enough
29:22colour.
29:22Fits her like a glove.
29:28She just looks fantastic.
29:30This week, I'm actually really proud of my garment.
29:42I'm really proud of what I've achieved.
29:44It looks amazing on the model.
29:50And it's something that a lot of women would want to wear.
29:53I love my garment.
30:00Heidi is killing it.
30:03I wish that the shawl was covering more of her sleeve.
30:08It's a little bit annoying, but everything else looks really, really good on her.
30:11So, I'm feeling really, really proud of myself.
30:21Really happy with how my garment ended up.
30:24It looks high fashion.
30:25It looks luxe.
30:26You can definitely see my wallpaper in it.
30:32I couldn't be more satisfied.
30:33The colours go really well together.
30:42However, I feel like they're just two different looks.
30:47I love the sculpture of the jacket.
30:48I feel like I did a much better job than I did in Challenge 2.
30:51Not 100% sure about the skirt.
30:53Gracie looks really cool.
31:04It's exactly what I wanted.
31:09I am worried.
31:10Just because the judges are either going to absolutely love the print or hate it.
31:15The print is going to be make or break.
31:16I feel so anxious and disappointed and embarrassed for having to send the stress down the runway.
31:30I don't want to look at the judges' faces.
31:33I just want to hide in a corner.
31:39At least the model looks good.
31:41She's, you know, having fun and working it.
31:46I'm super happy with the textile I created.
31:53Nice to create all this havoc on a fabric and then step back and then see it walk down the runway.
31:59If you were to stand back and watch the whole entire show, I think anyone could pick that that was my garment.
32:06Three of you will make it to the final.
32:08But only one of you will be named the winner of the very first Project Brumway New Zealand.
32:14Judy, you were the winner last week.
32:18But this week you have immunity.
32:20Phew.
32:20I'm so relieved I have immunity because I don't know how this is going to turn out.
32:25We have just learned which designers created which look.
32:29And if I call your name, please step forward.
32:32Carrie.
32:36Cammie.
32:40Misty.
32:40Misty.
32:40If I've called your name, congratulations.
32:46Your scores have qualified you into the next round.
32:49You may leave the runway.
32:58The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
33:02One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
33:06The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
33:13One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
33:18Let's bring out your models.
33:20Benny, can you describe your look and the inspiration you drew from?
33:34I wanted to go futuristic.
33:35I didn't want to make it literal, but make it big, go high fashion and modernist.
33:42So I incorporate the shape in the cape and the bodysuit as well.
33:48When you were working with the pleats in your outfit, did you think about putting them in a place that would be flattering to a woman?
33:55Just seeing it come from the runway, I did think about that.
33:58I wrote down Teletubby.
33:59Yeah, I wish, looking back at it now, I wish I did just bring the volume down in that piece.
34:07Was it intentional with the coat to have the hem swing to the front and cross over at the bottom?
34:12Intentionally, I wasn't supposed to sit like that, but when I saw it fall down the way it is, I loved it.
34:17Yeah, it looked great.
34:18It added to the drama and the futurism that you wanted to create is really interesting.
34:22It was a stronger look today.
34:24It looks quite street, almost a bit yeezy-ish.
34:26So, no, well done for pushing your boundaries a little.
34:29Thank you so much.
34:31Beth, can you describe your look today?
34:33My wallpaper had sort of a splash kind of pattern.
34:37And with the resin paint, I did it like a watercolour.
34:41A few of my keywords I started were with soft and delicate.
34:45Yeah, so that's what I went with this week.
34:48Beth, I really wish you had kind of showed us a little bit more design.
34:52I just didn't feel this was a look we would see on the runway currently.
34:57It didn't seem very fashion-forward.
35:00I want to be moved when I see an outfit on a runway.
35:03Just a little.
35:04On the safe side.
35:05Caitlin, describe to me your look and the inspiration.
35:08The wallpaper I ended up with, I cut out and made a stencil of it.
35:13So I literally recreated the wallpaper because I felt like it could be a textile.
35:19To me, the print was very resorty.
35:21So I went with quite a resorty look.
35:23And that's why I left the split through the back.
35:26She can unbutton that and wear it the other way around.
35:29It's a versatile look.
35:30Do you feel like you've spent too much time creating this beautiful textile?
35:35Definitely.
35:36I think that we can see that.
35:39I think all of you can learn to interpret the brief a little bit more creatively.
35:43Have a little fun with it.
35:44Dance around it.
35:45I like this look though.
35:46I love that little bodice underneath.
35:47It's so sexy.
35:48Can we see it again please?
35:50Yeah.
35:50It's great.
35:51The party at the back's a good time.
35:54Jess, can you describe to us your look?
35:57My wallpaper was the floral carpet bag textured wallpaper.
36:03I wanted to recreate an emotional feeling that you have attached to something that's
36:09so like nostalgic and comfortable looking.
36:12I really liked this.
36:13I thought it was cool.
36:14It's got that great kind of grandma chic thing going on.
36:18That's exactly what we called it.
36:20I wanted to avoid using that language.
36:22It's a thing.
36:24It's on my card as well.
36:25Yeah.
36:26Granny hot.
36:26Yeah.
36:27Granny chic, yeah.
36:28So I love your use of colour.
36:31It's really appealing to me.
36:32I think the jacket is interesting, memorable.
36:36It would make me pick it up and try it on.
36:38So well done.
36:39Thank you so much.
36:40There's some problems with this outfit as a total.
36:42Yep.
36:43But as Eliane said, if you walked into a shop and you saw that in the rack, you'd want
36:47to know more.
36:47And as a retailer, that's the perfect scenario that a customer says, I'm interested.
36:52Tell me about this.
36:53Yeah.
36:53And that's where I think the garment, when it's on the runway, becomes unique and interesting
36:57and something that, you know, feel moved by.
36:59I think you had the most creative interpretation of the brief out of everyone.
37:05You're pretty much the only designer that didn't literally take on the wallpaper.
37:09Even before the model walked out, I sort of loved this whole look.
37:12So well done.
37:12Thank you so much.
37:13Benjamin, can you talk to us about your look and your inspiration today?
37:17I had this really quite harsh, with these acidic colours, graffiti wallpaper.
37:24So I wanted to do like experimental marbling following the movement of graffiti and fluidity.
37:29And I made the earrings to mimic the marbling.
37:31I love the earrings.
37:33It's a really effective look.
37:34This is cool.
37:35This is so cool.
37:37It walked well.
37:38It fits your model perfectly.
37:40It's fresh.
37:41There's a whole move towards modest clothing.
37:44I think you've made her look feminine and sexy, but she's not showing almost the only tiny, weenny bit of skin.
37:51It's just great.
37:52Thank you so much.
37:54You did bring some sexy back though, right?
37:56Can we have a turn?
37:57Yeah.
37:58This is true.
37:58Actually, there you go.
38:00A little bit more skin than first anticipated.
38:03I did get a bit of a fright when it first walked out.
38:05I was like, it's a little brethren for me.
38:07And then she turned around and I was like, yes, a bit of skin.
38:10So hot.
38:11Well done.
38:13Judy.
38:14Can you talk to us today about your look?
38:16So I had this light kind of pastel-y geometric wallpaper and I really wanted to use the geometric shapes in a print, but to be honest, I really struggle with this challenge.
38:29Yeah.
38:30Why do you think it was such a struggle?
38:32I just felt really overwhelmed with the pressure on myself and I guess like a creative block, so yeah.
38:40It's a step down from what you had the past few weeks.
38:44I agree.
38:45I kind of made this dress today, so.
38:48It doesn't look luxe on the runway.
38:51I'm really shocked that you made this.
38:53This is not something I would expect from you.
38:55This dress for me looked like something that would be a last call at a nightclub on the Gold Coast.
39:02I'm sorry.
39:03It's just not a winner for me.
39:04That's okay.
39:05I agree.
39:06So Judy, one of the amazing things about having immunity from winning the challenge last week is that you can really push your design aesthetic out there.
39:14I'd love to see a hot mess rather than a boring mess.
39:16Okay, we've heard what you've got to say.
39:21Andreas is going to bring out your model so we can take a closer look and then I'll call you guys back to the runway.
39:31Hello, Andreas.
39:32Hello, judges.
39:33How are you?
39:34We're good.
39:34Very good.
39:35Coming through, models.
39:39Disappointment from last week.
39:41Did you feel the same as well?
39:43I was very underwhelmed, actually.
39:45Yes.
39:45Disappointing on a number of levels.
39:47That's not.
39:48That's not.
39:48Come through with Caitlin's.
39:51It does look like Barbie's mum in Malibu.
39:56So, Mark, you like the bustier.
39:58Yeah, it was my favourite part.
39:59I was a little worried about the front.
40:01It could have had some darts or some shaping.
40:03I love the back detail on the bodice.
40:05The pant, you know, it covers all the legs but it's got a beautiful drape on it and paired with the bodice, it's kind of sexy.
40:12I like that kind of combination.
40:14I just didn't know about the top.
40:16Should we see it without the top?
40:19See, she goes from Barbie's mum to Barbie.
40:22I like the Barbie.
40:24Yeah.
40:24Whilst it's not perfect, there's so much more interest in the garment, I think.
40:31Isabelle, I mean, Vance.
40:32This, to me, looks like my shirt after I've had a burrito.
40:38For me, there is elements that the construction's been done well, but it's just not fashionable.
40:44It's not something we would shoot in the magazine or on the runway at the moment.
40:48It's just vanilla.
40:49It's just a nice, pleasant sort of outfit.
40:53It's not runway.
40:54And so this is just a little underwhelming.
40:56It's a shame.
40:59Heidi wearing jesters.
41:00I loved how she interpreted this wallpaper into more of a vibe.
41:05So good.
41:07I think the point is that she took a brief, she didn't become literal, and she really played with it.
41:12I think granny hot is actually a thing.
41:15It's cool.
41:15It could be a little refined with the tailoring, but overall feel is cool.
41:22I think this was some...
41:22Oh, we've got a look.
41:23We've got a look.
41:24Great for an older woman, too.
41:25I could see an older woman wearing this and just feeling spectacular.
41:31So Tashi wearing panties.
41:32Well, I can see positives about this look.
41:36The volume on the stomach, it's just not flattering at all.
41:39I think definitely this belly target is a problem.
41:43This sort of stripe panel down the side, it actually adds width,
41:47and it would have been awesome to just see it coming in more of a V through here
41:50and losing this and putting it somewhere else.
41:53It's just a little ill-fitting in some places, but the whole look I loved,
41:56and I like the balance of the fitted bodysuit with the loose coat.
41:59When you walk down the runway, it looked great.
42:01It is great, it's just not perfect.
42:03Yeah, I agree.
42:08Gracie with Benjamins.
42:12We're going to call Gracie Guinevere today.
42:14This is cool, this is current, it's not boring.
42:18It would look great in an editorial.
42:19Andres, how's he getting those shoulders to stay where they are?
42:23This is actually holding and supporting all of that.
42:25It's sewn so tight.
42:27It's really firm through the top,
42:29so it's got some structure underneath the whole thing.
42:32That's beautiful work, the craftsmanship and finishing,
42:34to get those to sit at the exact points is very well done.
42:38I'm impressed.
42:41And Lola with Judy's, come through.
42:43Ooh, she's a bit of a mess.
42:46When I found out Judy made it, I was floored.
42:49I just would never have thought she would create something like this.
42:52She's obviously had a bad week, and it shows.
42:55It looks to me lazy or tired.
42:57Andres, is that fair with Judy?
42:58She just worked herself up into some sort of state, really.
43:03She seemed to be putting so much pressure on herself to be able to perform,
43:07and didn't just enjoy it.
43:10You know, the idea of winning two challenges in a row just terrified her.
43:14With Guinevere to our left, we've got elegant sexiness,
43:17whereas this is overt,
43:19and I don't think that's what Judy was trying to achieve at all.
43:22And so I think she missed her own brief in what she was trying to achieve
43:25by, like Andres said, working herself into a frenzy.
43:28It's just a time issue, right?
43:29That's all this is.
43:33Have we made a decision?
43:35Let's bring them back out.
43:37The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
43:42One of you will be named the winner,
43:44and one of you will walk.
43:47Benjamin, your print was really well done.
43:50Your look was cool, current, and runway.
43:55You are the winner of this challenge.
43:59Well done, you can leave the runway.
44:02Felt good to win, obviously.
44:05High five.
44:06Hey!
44:08Did you win?
44:09I really like what I made,
44:10and after two wins,
44:12I actually really would love to go on a winning streak, I think.
44:16That's so exciting.
44:18Congrats.
44:19Jess.
44:20It was, again, a great interpretation of the brief.
44:24There were some execution issues,
44:26but it was an amazing look.
44:29Congratulations.
44:29You can leave the runway.
44:31Thanks.
44:34Benny, you had big problems with your jumpsuit,
44:36but I can see your global and current inspirations.
44:40You can leave the runway.
44:47Caitlin, amazing execution of the print,
44:51but you spent too much time of it,
44:53and the rest of your design fell flat.
44:57You're in.
44:59Oh, okay.
45:00You can leave the runway.
45:02Beth, your look was not runway.
45:12Though very well constructed,
45:15judges thought it was honestly a little bit vanilla.
45:19Judy,
45:20we don't need to tell you
45:22that your look wasn't good enough today.
45:25You really struggled, and it showed.
45:27You are the bottom this week,
45:32but you have immunity.
45:35I'm sorry, Beth.
45:37That means you're going home.
45:39It's okay.
45:41Judy, you're safe.
45:42Thank you, guys.
45:43I really appreciate the feedback,
45:45and I'll get my shit together the next time.
45:54Judy girl.
45:55Judy.
45:55Judy.
45:55What's happening?
46:00I just feel really terrible.
46:02Like, it's so important to me
46:03to, like, be here and do my best every week,
46:06because it's like showing myself.
46:08What I can do is showing everyone else.
46:10Is her death going, huh?
46:12Oh, yeah.
46:15I really hate to have to do this to you on your birthday.
46:18That's okay.
46:19But go on, Drew.
46:21We've loved having you on the show.
46:22Awesome.
46:23It's been a great opportunity,
46:24and it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
46:27So, thank you for being there and watching me grow.
46:34Hi.
46:36Hello, Beth.
46:37I still see this as an experience where I won.
46:41Are you allowed to stay?
46:43No, I'm out.
46:44Yeah.
46:45Ah.
46:46You got such a fright when she called your name.
46:48I, but, but, how weird was that?
46:50Like, did you expect that?
46:51I didn't expect that.
