00:00I don't know the judge, but if he made that kind of a decision, Portland is burning to the ground.
00:06And if you have a judge like that, that judge ought to be ashamed of him.
00:11President Trump is not happy with the federal judge who blocked his plan to deploy National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, twice over the weekend.
00:20Judge Karen Immergut, who President Trump mistakenly called a man, was a Trump pick for the federal district court back in 2019.
00:30Following her rulings against him, the president says Immergut's nomination may have been the wrong move, a mistake he blames on bad advice.
00:38I appointed the judge and he goes like that, so I wasn't served well.
00:42Immergut previously worked under former President George W. Bush, who had appointed her as U.S. attorney in Oregon, a role she served in from 2003 to 2009.
00:52She also worked for independent counsel Kenneth Starr during his investigation into President Clinton and interviewed Monica Lewinsky as part of the probe.
01:01In her ruling against Trump's deployment of the National Guard, Immergut found the administration's rationale for federalizing Portland to be untethered to the facts
01:10and failed to find evidence of the president's claims of mass chaos and disorder to justify the move.
01:16Democrats hailed her decision while the White House pledged to overcome the preliminary restraining order with, quote, vindication by a higher court.
