00:00Right back at it tonight.
00:01In the association, did you enjoy last night?
00:04You had a little buzzer beater by Giannis Antetokounmpo at Indiana.
00:07You know, some booing going on.
00:09Giannis picks up the victory, but not the cover.
00:11And tonight, we got even more action.
00:13We're going to start out on the West Coast, Joe.
00:15An 11 p.m. start tonight.
00:175-11, 5-12 on the rotation.
00:19That's the Oklahoma City Thunder to take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
00:22The overnight line, Joe, was four and a half as a favorite towards Oklahoma City.
00:27It's not the case anymore.
00:28You'll see the graphic coming up here at minus 7-and-a-half at most outlets
00:32and a total of 2-22-and-a-half.
00:34If we're looking at the anticipated starting lineups for these two ball clubs tonight, Joe,
00:39I have SGA, Wallace, Doerr, Holmgren, and Hartenstein.
00:42And then for the Clippers, James Harden, Bradley Beal, Kawhi Leonard,
00:44Derek Jones Jr., and Evika Zubac.
00:47Look at that.
00:47Nice heavy favorite, road favorite for OKC tonight.
00:51Undefeated road favorite.
00:537-and-0 here.
00:54Clippers on the second of a back-to-back, although they are home.
00:58But the Miami Heat, who were on the second of a back-to-back last night, got it done,
01:03120-119.
01:05The Clippers just having a hard time keeping teams from running out in front.
01:12They had to play catch-up last night and could not catch up.
01:15Not a great spot for them here now.
01:17Walking them in, the Thunder, who have had a chance to get maybe Chet Holmgren back and
01:22available in this game.
01:24And, you know, let's face it, the Oklahoma City Thunder, this line was 5-5-and-a-half,
01:28Donnie, in the look-ahead.
01:29Now 7-and-a-half.
01:31I think it's going to keep rising here.
01:33There's no way that this is going to be a rock fight of a game as much as the Clippers are
01:38going to want it to be.
01:39I think the Thunder are going to push the tempo a lot in this game.
01:43Would not shock me if this thing goes flying over that 2-23-and-a-half.
01:48Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors tonight.
01:50That's a 10-o'clock start out of the West Coast.
01:52This line opened up.
01:53Look-ahead overnight around minus 11.
01:55Still sitting at 10-and-a-half at most outlets here, despite 6 out of every 10 tickets coming
01:59in right now on the Phoenix Suns.
02:00And the total, that's listed at 2-33-and-a-half.
02:04Estimated starting lineup tonight for the Phoenix Suns.
02:06Booker, Allen, Dunn, O'Neal, and Williams.
02:08And then for the Golden State Warriors, Kerry, Pajemski, Butler, Kaminga, and Green.
02:12Double-digit favorite for the Golden State Warriors at home against the Suns.
02:17Well, we got two different things going on here, right?
02:20We have the Golden State Warriors who have not lost a game at home yet, right?
02:24And then you have the Phoenix Suns who, well, shocker, have not won a game on the road yet,
02:29Donnie.
02:29So something is going to have to give here.
02:33But the Warriors at home have been what you would expect, right?
02:37From a, you know, a very veteran-laden team here.
02:40They've been impressive.
02:42They beat the Nuggets in overtime in that first game, right?
02:45That was good.
02:45They beat the Grizzlies.
02:46They beat the Clippers, who have dominated them over time.
02:51A lot of new pieces here on this Phoenix Suns team.
02:53Of course, Devin Booker is the lead guy.
02:56But I think it's just going to be too much Golden State Warriors here.
02:59I think they are going to push the pace.
03:02A lot of threes.
03:03Going to rate a lot of threes in this game.
03:05I wouldn't want to sweat out an under here.
03:07I'll tell you that, Donnie.
03:08Back-to-backs in the NBA sometimes can be detrimental to your starting line.
03:12The Milwaukee Bucks are on a back-to-back tonight, taking on the Toronto Raptors.
03:16Overnight, we saw a favorite for the Raptors, Joe, at minus three and a half.
03:18Every outlet now reporting back minus four and a half towards the Toronto Raptors.
03:22And a hefty total of 237 and a half.
03:25Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be in the starting lineup tonight, along with Rollins, Green, Trent Jr., and Turner.
03:31And then for the Toronto Raptors, the home team, Quickly, Barrett, Ingram, Barnes, and Pertle in the starting lineup as we anticipate that.
03:37But the Raptors are a favorite.
03:39Last night, the Bucks got that two-point victory at the buzzer, thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
03:44Yeah, Yaka and Pertle back for the Raptors, which is big.
03:47They get their big man back.
03:49But if I was a betting man, Don, I would be willing to say that come closer at some point between now and tip-off, Giannis will be ruled out of this game here on the second of a back-to-back.
04:04So my suggestion is the Raptors at four and a half now, before that happens, because this number will get much higher before tip-off here.
04:14Like the Raptors either way, not a great spot here, with a buzzer beater, no less, by Giannis in a pretty emotional back-and-forth game against Indiana last night.
04:25So, yeah, I like the Raptors in this one.
04:28Like, what if I told you we could make it so the NBA never has to play a back-to-back?
04:33Like, you know, the NFL has set days.
04:34Why can't you do that in the NBA?
04:36Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.
04:38Like, nobody ever has a back-to-back, and then you get a day with multiple days off.
04:42It's unbelievable where your biggest superstars can't play on a night-to-night basis because you have back-to-backs when there's absolutely no reason to have back-to-back games.
04:50It's ridiculous the way it plays out, but it's the NBA.
04:52It's why the regular season absolutely stinks here.
04:55Let's take a look at two teams that don't technically stink, at least my Philadelphia 76ers don't, on the road to take on the Chicago Bulls at 8 p.m.
05:03Sixers aren't even the favorites.
05:04It's the Chicago Bulls at minus one and a half to two, depending on where he's shopping at,
05:08and a hefty total of 239.5 estimated starting lineups tonight.
05:13The Sixers, Maxi, Edgecombe, Oubre, Walker, and Embiid, and then for the Chicago Bulls, Giddy Jones, Okoro, Buzelas, and Vucevic.
05:20How about that?
05:21Come on, Sixers.
05:22What do you got, Joe?
05:23Well, listen, both teams come in five and one here.
05:26The Bulls have been very good here under Billy Donovan and company who have changed their style.
05:32This, Donnie, is one of those games.
05:34Forget about the side.
05:35It's coin flip, right?
05:36Give me the over.
05:38You got to be kidding me.
05:39Two teams are going to push tempo with electric guard play, great wings, and even the big man starting to come back into his own.
05:48Embiid starting to get in better shape.
05:50You're starting to see it.
05:51They're pacing them out well.
05:53Yeah, I think there's going to be a ton of points in this game here, Donnie, tonight with the Bulls and the Sixers.
05:58This is going to land in the 250s, not the 230s.
06:03A slender Embiid.
06:04Love to see it.
06:05By the way, sometimes you want to hide in the NBA games.
06:07How about this 8 o'clock game?
06:08The Charlotte Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans.
06:11And the Pelicans are actually favored by two points to two and a half, depending on where you're shopping at.
06:15And another hefty total of 237 and a half.
06:19Looks like Zion might give it a go tonight.
06:21Oh, thanks for sticking around, Zion.
06:23A favorite to New Orleans.
06:24Can you trust them?
06:26A lot of issues right now with New Orleans, especially a lot of concern about the players, not liking the coach.
06:34Coach not liking the players.
06:36A lot of animosity.
06:36You know, being 0-6 is not great.
06:40This young Charlotte Hornets team, you know, when they got LaMelo and Brandon Miller, when they get them back, I think that's going to be – they haven't had them, but they do have Miles Bridges.
06:50I think once LaMelo and Brandon Miller get back, Charlotte is absolutely a bet on team.
06:55But New Orleans is not going to lose every game.
06:57They're going to be motivated in this one here.
07:00I think they get it done at home.
07:02How come nobody brings up the deal?
07:03Like, you know, like, ah, the Cleveland Browns are taking on the Baltimore – or the, you know, the Ravens at this point used to be them.
07:09Like, nobody even cares, like, the Charlotte Hornets and the Pelicans, the history of these two franchises.
07:12Because they both stink every single year.
07:16It's the way it is.
07:17It's a Tuesday morning right here on the Sports Grid Network.
07:19It is the early line going over information like, oh, yeah, the NBA's playing tonight.
07:23Oh, look, college basketball's back.
07:25Turning the page on week 9 of the NFL into week 10 of the NFL, which is going to start Thursday night.
07:29Some marquee matchup you need to know about.
07:31Oh, yeah, there's that thing called college football, which also plays this week.
07:34A great time to be here on the Sports Grid Network.
07:37Donnie Wright's side, Joe Ranieri.
07:38And now we welcome in Adam Kaufman here to talk a little NDA action and other hot topics.
07:43Hot topics just keep on flowing, Adam.
07:45How are we feeling today?
07:46Yeah, well, like you said, fascinating day in general.
07:49Because, obviously, day two, college basketball.
07:52Day one was a ton of fun, at least for my card personally.
07:56I hope people had a great time in general.
07:58You close out week 9 of the NFL with a dud of a game.
08:02That game sucked, and I was wrong about it, too.
08:04I thought the Cowboys were going to be the team that won out.
08:06But Jacoby Reset continues to be the best backup in the NFL.
08:10And, of course, trade deadline day across the league.
08:13And so will we get anything impactful?
08:15Cowboys started off with a nice move.
08:17But there are a lot of teams that need to add to get themselves firmly in that contender conversation.
08:23Yeah, it's good stuff all the way around.
08:25I'm waiting for one of these big shoes to drop here in the NFL.
08:28You know, when I like to say, like, me back in the day, Adam, like, the trade deadline in the NFL is like, what's that?
08:32We haven't had a trade in 15 years.
08:34So at least teams are actually trading again and sort of adding some intrigue because it's a lot of fun to talk about.
08:39Teams can make themselves better.
08:40But I want to catch your point here in the NBA.
08:43Like, usually sometimes you win an NBA championship.
08:46And OKC did that last year.
08:47Hey, maybe a little bit of lull.
08:49We took the offseason off.
08:50And, you know, a little bit slow start to the season.
08:52But we'll get it back when the hunger really matters.
08:54And also, regular season doesn't matter if we won a championship.
08:56We just want to get to the playoffs.
08:58Well, you look at the standings right now.
08:59Oklahoma City, yeah, 7-0, best record in the NBA to start.
09:05And tonight, taking on the Clippers as roughly 7.5-point favorites live right now.
09:10The Thunder said, we like the ring.
09:12That's nice.
09:12But now we're hungry for ring two.
09:14And we're 7-0 to start.
09:16Like you said, perfect start to the season.
09:19There's no regression whatsoever for this team at the moment.
09:22And doing so, notably, without their second-best player.
09:25We haven't seen Jalen Williams play yet this year.
09:28So, it really is Shea Gildress Alexander, the reigning MVP.
09:32And this supporting cast that's getting the job done.
09:35This line right now, like you said, there's 7.5s out there.
09:38There are also 7s and 6.5s.
09:40You know, at least one rogue 6.5 that I'm looking at right now.
09:43And that's where I would go with OKC.
09:45Obviously, if you want to go to the other side with the Clippers, take that 7.5.
09:49But I think the Thunder are going to cover this, get the job done on the road.
09:52You know, they haven't played since Sunday, guys.
09:55And a blowout win over the winless Pelicans right now just destroyed Zion and company.
10:02And so, this group, you know, it was a pretty easy path to victory.
10:07Where you didn't have to have anybody play more than 30 minutes in that game.
10:11Most played between 20 and 25.
10:14So, they're not taxed.
10:15Again, haven't played in a couple of days.
10:17They go out to L.A.
10:18So, they're just sitting there waiting for this game at this point in time.
10:22And the Clippers, meanwhile, they played last night.
10:26You know, a high-scoring, hard-fought game with Miami.
10:29It was a one-point game, ultimately, that the Heat came away.
10:32The visitors with the victory.
10:33And everyone had to go, obviously, in this one coming down to the wire.
10:38And so, most important players out there for L.A.
10:40played upwards of 35 to 40 minutes.
10:43Whether that's James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, these guys.
10:46And so, there are some questions going into the game.
10:48We haven't seen an injury report, for instance, on the Clippers.
10:51Because they did play last night.
10:52It might be a good time to get in on the Thunder.
10:54In the event that anybody of note does sit in this game.
10:57For OKC, A.J. Mitchell, Lou Dort.
11:00A couple of key players for that team in terms of depth.
11:02And pop off the bench.
11:04In Mitchell's case, are questionable going into this one.
11:06Still, I think they're going to go at least one of the two.
11:09And probably both.
11:10And so, I think we're going to see line movement during the day.
11:13I wouldn't be surprised if this thing gets up to, you know, eight, eight and a half.
11:17I would invest at OKC minus six and a half right now.
11:21Are you worried here, Adam, though, given the fact that they are public darlings.
11:26They are always overvalued.
11:28And anytime they play a team with a pulse, and I would consider the Clippers, with as much veteran leadership and ability that they have at home.
11:38Really?
11:38Because they haven't.
11:39They didn't cover against Indiana.
11:40They didn't cover against Houston.
11:42They didn't cover against Dallas, Sacramento.
11:44I mean, there's no value in laying it with Oklahoma City.
11:49So, if everyone's playing for the Clippers, are we worried that, once again, we've got a double overtime situation?
11:56Here we go with OKC?
11:59It's a valid point.
12:00And like you said, the Thunderwell, perfect straight up, not as great against the spread.
12:04That said, I just think it's a good schedule spot.
12:06You know, again, the Clippers play a tight game last night.
12:11Excuse me.
12:11Comes down to the wire.
12:12Everybody has to play big minutes.
12:14You've got the rest factor on the Thunder coming in.
12:16All the stuff that I already outlined.
12:18But then on top of that, I just think it's a better team, obviously.
12:23But it's also a younger team.
12:25You've got some old legs on that Clippers team that may have trouble kind of keeping up toward the end.
12:30You know, I think it's, I'll put it this way.
12:32I think it's more likely to be a close game, close game, close game, and then Thunder pull away in the fourth quarter than it is a game that OKC's kind of running away with and they take their foot off the gas and you get that backdoor cover situation from the Clippers.
12:45I just think that ultimately we're going to see the Clippers sort of run out of steam here in this one.
12:50How about running out of steam here?
12:52Not those Philadelphia 76ers.
12:54Take a look at a game against the Chicago Bulls.
12:56Two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
12:58Who would have thought about that early in the season?
13:00The Sixers come in this ballgame, Adam.
13:02However, a slight underdog here and that total close to 240.
13:06The hops there from Maxie and Edgecombe.
13:09Get it going.
13:09And B, due back in the lineup tonight.
13:11What do you see between the Bulls and the Sixers tonight?
13:13Yeah, I think the fact that you can get Philadelphia as a, you know, roughly minus 105 on the money line, you know, because obviously the spread, like you said, point or so dogs, two-point dogs as we look at the graphic there.
13:26I would just rather take the money line at this point.
13:28Now, Chicago is a good team.
13:29Like you said, these teams are both off to, what is it, five and one starts right now, top of the Eastern Conference.
13:34But, indeed, despite this minutes limit, he's getting more comfortable, right?
13:38You know, three straight games of 20-plus points.
13:40He's playing, you know, increased minutes each time, 25 the last time out.
13:45The shot volume is absolutely increasing.
13:47You've seen people bet up his points prop.
13:49It was, I think, 16 and a half at open.
13:51Now it's 19 and a half.
13:52So, it's climbed.
13:53But, again, the volume is there for Embiid.
13:56You couple that with, as you said, Maxie, Edgecombe.
13:59And it's also looking like, at least based on the probable designation, that we're going to see Jared McCain for the first time this season,
14:06who suffered that UCL, the thumb injury, back in the preseason.
14:11And so, therefore, hasn't played yet.
14:13And because of his injury last year, hasn't played since last December.
14:16But this kid was going to be rookie of the year if he had simply stayed healthy last year.
14:21Then he goes down and everything turns on its head, obviously.
14:23But I think he's solid, good depth for this team.
14:26You don't need Paul George right now.
14:28You've got enough youth around Embiid.
14:29I would take the road team, again, on the money line.
14:32That's Adam Kaufman bringing the heat here.
14:34And I know he's looking forward to the Patriots and the Buccaneers this weekend.
14:37Adam's all over the channel.
14:38Make sure you check him out.
14:39Thanks for joining us this morning, Adam.
14:41We'll talk soon.
14:42For me, Joe, I'm going to the NBA.
14:44I'm going to start with the first game of the night.
14:467.30 tip.
14:47I like the Milwaukee Bucs.
14:48Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA.
14:50And I'm not in love with the Toronto Raptors.
14:52But sometimes you take a look at a close game last night, a back-to-back here for the Milwaukee Bucs.
14:56And I'm getting a 4.5 as a favorite towards the Toronto Raptors.
15:00But also understand this.
15:017 of every 10 tickets here currently coming in on the Bucs.
15:04And as Joe pointed out earlier in the show, you might get that late surprise.
15:07Like, yeah, Giannis isn't playing tonight on a back-to-back.
15:09And you get that extra bonus.
15:11I'll take the Raptors tonight.
15:13Minus 4.5 as a nice fade of the public to see if they can pull off the victory and the cover tonight.
15:19Yeah, sooner rather than later, Donnie.
15:21Because once, you know, second of a back-to-back, those injuries start to pile up.
15:26And the guys not playing, yeah, that line might very well move.
15:31They are more rested, Toronto, as well.
