00:00On Tuesday afternoon, the Shock 75C-130J U.S. military heavy transport aircraft landed at the A&R Robinson International Airport.
00:11This comes hours after THA Minority Leader Kelvin Morris warned a political meeting in Tobago about the country facing the radar as well as U.S. military planes at both airports.
00:24Brothers and sisters, I am saying to you that development is no longer something we can ignore.
00:34That development for us here in Tobago is really about, in a real sense, life and death.
00:42He said the present circumstance facing Tobago is one of concern.
00:46Because, you see, whenever big powers and big conflicts start to move around you, small places like Tobago must pay attention.
00:57You see, we in Tobago have been extremely concerned about this development.
01:02Because the Prime Minister, without our consent, without any consultation, without any consideration for the people of Tobago, decided to place one of those military assets, that military radar, right here in Tobago.
01:21Morris said the attention is now squarely on Tobago.
01:24And I want to tell you what that means in plain language.
01:29You see, when you put a military radar in a small island like Tobago that is tourism-based, you don't just put on equipment.
01:39You put attention, you put risk, and in a real sense, you put a bullseye on the backs of every Tobagoian.
