Two men died while six others were injured after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in skidded off the road at KM3 Jalan Paka-Bandar Al Mukhtafi Billah Shah near Dungun at 7.34am on Monday (Dec 29).

00:05in skidded off the road at Kilometer 3, Jalan Pakabandar Al-Muktafi Bila Shah, near Dungun
00:11on Monday morning.
00:13Dungun OCPD Superintendent Maizura Abdul Qadir said the crash occurred at about 7.34am.
00:20The victims who died were identified as Muhammad Ashraf Muhammad Zahir, 21, and Pakistani National
00:27Siraj Noman, 27, both of whom suffered severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
00:34The six injured victims, one local and five foreign nationals aged between 30 and 40, were
00:40taken to hospital Dungun for treatment.
00:43Superintendent Maizura said all eight men were en route from Kampung Nior to Santong in Paka
00:48for electrical wiring work when the MPV is believed to have lost control at a bend before skidding
00:54and crashing into a lamppost.
00:57Fire and rescue personnel took about 15 minutes to extricate the bodies of the two trapped victims
01:02before handing them over to police.
01:05The case is being investigated under section 41, subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
