Herta Talmar was an Austrian operetta singer born in 1920. Talmar made a debut at age 11 in the operetta Die Kaiserin. Between 1952 and 1957, the artist was a member of the ensemble at the Salzburg Landestheater. Their repertoire included operetta, musicals, and folk songs. Recordings for the Polydor label included cross-sections of Wiener Blut, Der Bettelstudent, and Die Blume von Hawaii. Radio recordings included Ein Walzertraum (1954), Die Försterchristl (1955), and Gasparone (1956). Talmar collaborated with artists including Fritz Wunderlich and Sándor Kónya. Talmar passed away in 2010.
