Lucia Aliberti is an Italian operatic soprano born on June 12, 1957, in Messina. She studied the piano, composition, conducting, and singing at the conservatory and graduated with honors. Aliberti continued her training with Luigi Ricci and Alfredo Kraus. She began her career after winning the Spoleto and ENAL competitions and debuted in the opera La sonnambula at the Festival dei Due Mondi in 1979. Aliberti is a specialist in the bel canto repertoire of the composer Vincenzo Bellini. Her repertoire included the lead role in the opera Lucia di Lammermoor, the lead role in Norma, and Imogene in Il pirata. Her recording career included the studio recording A Portrait (1999) and the studio recording Viva! Belcanto (2001). Aliberti received the Goldene Feder award and the Premio Callas from the Association of Opera Friends of Milan.
