Says Luka Doncic, talking to ESPN’s Malika Andrews about the iPhone he threw after finding out he’d been traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year. The back glass is cracked, but Luka is still using it.

A Warner Bros. exec indicated to the Financial Times that A Minecraft Movie will probably get a sequel:
“I mean, we’d be foolish not to,” says [Jesse] Ehrman. “The fans want more, so hopefully we’ll be able to figure something out.”

Sports are already pretty scary if you’re a Maple Leafs fan like me, but Him somehow looks even more terrifying. Directed by Justin Tipping and produced by Jordan Peele, the movie follows an up-and-coming quarterback (Tyriq Withers) dealing with “potentially career-ending brain trauma” after an attack from a fan. Things only get darker from there. The movie hits theaters on September 19th.

It’s been a while since Darth Maul last appeared Star Wars Rebels, but during this year’s Star Wars Celebration, Luscasfilm announced that the horned Sith is set to star in a new animated Disney Plus series due out in 2026.

It’s a return to form for Razer, but only a modest upgrade from Nvidia.

Star Wars: Beyond Victory - A Mixed Reality Playset is a new podracing-focused experience for Meta’s Quest headsets that will be shown at Star Wars Celebration 2025.
You won’t actually race from the cockpit of a podracer, but that’s probably a good thing to prevent the game from being a “puke factory,” as one of my colleagues eloquently put it.
The simplified redesign has been in testing since last year, and it makes a title’s trailer and description much more prominent on your screen. Now Netflix is nearly ready to roll it out, as co-CEO Greg Peters said during an earnings call that it will arrive “later this year.”
The latest trailer for FBC: Firebreak — a multiplayer spinoff of Control — looks delightfully weird, and is making me feel justified in my irrational hatred of sticky notes. The game launches this summer, but Remedy is also hosting a livestream on April 24th at 1PM ET with a deeper look and some news. Hopefully we get a release date.

We already knew Peacock’s adaptation of Twisted Metal was returning for a second season this summer. Now the streamer has confirmed exactly when with a July 31st premiere date.

Another day, another Nintendo livestream, and yet we’re still in limbo about when we can pay for a Switch 2 and what it will cost in the US. Viewers chanted “DROP THE PRICE” in the YouTube chat!
But how unfair is that price, really? The Verge’s awesome video team asked me to explain it on camera. I can’t say I love the price or want to pay it, but I do feel a tad better after this!

Nintendo is about to show off its big Switch 2 launch exclusive Mario Kart World. The event is expected to last around 15 minutes, and you can watch it right here.
Though Disney Plus and Marvel haven’t officially announced when the second of Daredevil: Born Again will debut, showrunner Dario Scardapane seems fairly confident in a recent Instagram post that it’s happening next March.

It seems like there are actually going to be quite a few uninfected humans running around in 28 Years Later. The film’s latest trailer is filled with survivors and soldiers armed with lethal weapons, but once Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his son Spike (Alfie Williams) leave from the safety of their remote home, they’ve got to fend for themselves to keep the rage-fueled ghouls at bay.
Reviewers were appalled by lack of value in Nvidia’s RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti last year, but the new “$429” 5060 Ti is a solid “it depends.” In every review I’ve consumed so far (e.g. Digital Foundry, Tom’s Hardware, Guru3D, PCGamer) it looks like a real upgrade over the five-year-old 3060 Ti... if you don’t have to pay over $500 for it.
While it might be only 20 percent faster than 4060 Ti in pure raster, it’s more like 35-45 percent over the 3060 Ti. In some games, it beats the RTX 3080 and RX 6800. In others, it’s closer to a 3070 Ti. If you tolerate fake frames, you can apparently get north of 60fps in games like Alan Wake 2 at 4K with full path tracing and 4x frame gen.
In a 1,000 person survey of 20–29 year olds by a major Japanese bank, nearly 20 percent admitted: they once spent so much money on in-game purchases that they couldn’t cover living expenses.
We — and regulators — have long known these games can potentially be addictive, even if you’re aware of the risk. There are dozens of billion-dollar games as a result; now, an entire generation may have “gambled my rent away on cute digital characters” as a shared cultural touchstone.
Did the company forget what happened with Hyper Scape?

After Warner Bros. Discovery passed on Genndy Tartakovsky’s Fixed, it seemed like the animated feature about a dog’s last night before getting the snip might never see the light of day, but Netflix has scooped the film up and plans to debut it on August 13th.
Wario64 shared the new prices for 12-month subscriptions, and you can see the previous prices on MobileSyrup. Sony announced higher PlayStation Plus prices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia due to “global market conditions” last week.
PS5 hardware got price hikes in the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand earlier this week.

While Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale can always tell when someone is lying, the new trailer for Poker Face’s upcoming second season makes it pretty hard to tell which of its characters are murderers hiding in plain sight. Clearly, there’s something up with that strange little girl, but is she a killer? You be the judge.
From a big Variety interview published yesterday: “I’m really a big believer in what Nintendo means for this industry and us continuing to support them,” Spencer said. “And getting the support from them for our franchises, I think, is an important part of our future.”
The excellent British comedy show where five contestants are judged in how they complete ridiculous tasks is back for series 19 starting May 2nd on YouTube. That means you have more than two weeks to catch up on previous series, which are also available on YouTube. Your time starts now.

Doom: The Dark Ages is launching in May and Microsoft is celebrating the new release with not one, but two special edition Xbox controllers. You can pick up a regular Xbox controller with the Doom Slayer’s armor for $79.99, or go for a transparent red top Xbox Elite 2 controller for $199.99. There’s even a $54.99 Xbox Series X wrap, too.
Time Extension writes about Stephen Peringer, the freelance artist who made 12 pieces of video game available for bidding at Heritage Auctions, starting on May 5th:
Throughout both the 80s and ‘90s, Peringer contributed a frankly stunning amount of iconic art for some of the biggest video game companies around...
You don’t need childhood memory of poring over video game box art at the rental store seared into your head as much as I do to appreciate the work, but it doesn’t hurt.
Nintendo has let us know that tomorrow is all about Mario Kart World. The Mario Kart World direct takes place April 17th at 9 A.M ET and will last for 15 minutes. You can watch the livestream on mobile devices via the new Nintendo Today! app or...on YouTube like everyone else. See you there.
On Wednesday morning at 8:45AM ET, the Spotify Status account on X acknowledged that “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!” A check around The Verge’s Slack channel and the wider internet reveals many users in the UK and across other European countries are having issues streaming anything on Spotify, with a significant spike on Downdetector in the UK.
In the US, we spotted only a few error messages at first, but now the service has stopped working for us, too. We’re tracking the issue here and will let you know if there are any other updates.
