I came across an interesting article the other day on visual journaling, self-regulation and stress reduction by Cathy Malchodi. You can read the article here. I do visual journaling for many reasons, some of which I have go into in this blog, if you follow me.
What interests me today is when is a spread finished? As with this spread, I started in almost a year ago. It was “finished” today with a little bit of doodling.

Music has always influence me. As a child I remember driving my Mom crazy playing the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” by The Tokens repeatedly. From a wonderful weekend art journaling class with Orly Avineri.

This spread is from an art journaling class with Orly Avineri. Everything I do is connected. I work in my garden. I cook a meal for friends. I take a break. I work in my journal. I draw. I view an inspiring piece of graffiti on the train. I breath. My interactions. It is all connected with who I am.

These are my playing card journal entries for the month of January 2015. They are actually a standard deck of regulation playing cards. I do one card per week. I have really enjoyed working on these. These are from the 52 Card Pick-up class with Seth Apter. You can view the previous post regarding the cover of the class here. It is rather therapeutic to do just a bit of journaling on the backs of these cards. I have decided to be really open about what is going on with me at the time in my journaling.

We all go through droughts, droughts in love, money, creativity, thought, etc. This journal is about drought and abundance. It was created with Orly Avineri in her Drought/Abundance class, waaaay back in July. It seems so long ago. So much fun, an abundance of love and laughter. Looking at this journal brings me to feelling Orly’s love and light.
