How does your game fit the theme?
Mechanically you are on a time limit, and it runs down even faster every time you shoot. As your time gets low it the actual countdown becomes superimposed over the centre of the screen. Narratively you must keep travelling further into the past to return to the present.

Best game I played so far. Very cool ideas in this game.

Nicely done, I love how you play with the aesthetic between levels. The dialogue definitely evoked some chuckles lol.
The gun only snapping to 4 angles definitely threw me for a loop and made me significantly overestimate how hard the  combat was in the initial levels (though it does ramp up later too), but otherwise you've really nailed down the gameplay!

Am I the first to mention Iron Maiden? Whooo! 🤘

Cool game. I really appreciate how you ran with the whole "time" theme: everything revolves around time. Shooting two time cops at once isn't easy, but it's satisfying.

It does get really ridiculously difficult around level 5.

Yes! It was originally a placeholder name, but I never thought of anything better, haha! Glad someone recognised it!

Yeah, I know it really needed another balance pass, but was running out of time by the end. I was trying to no fall into the classic trap of thinking your own game is too easy (because you've been testing it non-stop for days), but I guess I still didn't judge it right.

Oh yes, it's happened to me many times (including this time). Haha.

Very fun addictive gameplay! Maybe the gun rotating 360 degrees instead of 4 static angles would improve the readability of the shots by a lot. Other than that, great work!!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

I do agree on the gun, but I was trying to avoid having rotating pixels. I thought about creating a "diagonal" sprite to at least make it an 8-way thing, but I didn't have the time (or artistic ability, haha)

Whoa, so much content! I liked the idea of seeing the same place throughout the different periods.

Developer

By the time I had finished making 5 levels I was seriously regretting deciding to make 8 in total, haha.

Glad you liked it!

I love the juice on the death of the enemies and the art style is awesome!

Developer

Thank you! Besides the terrible explosion and "bullet" sprites the art was all from https://kenney.nl/, so I can't take any credit

Nice little game with a pretty good amount of polish! The dialogue was funny, gameplay was smooth, and the level with the enemies that telegraphed their flight paths was my favorite.

Developer

Thank you! The telegraphs were originally for debug purposes (while trying to get them to move in the right directions), but decided to keep them in.

Pretty fun gameplay, but for me the highlight is the witty dialogue! Well done!

Developer

Thank you! By the end I slightly regretted committing to unique dialogue for each level, so I'm glad you enjoyed it, haha!

Very cool game! It gives me serious Game Boy vibes!
