[LFP] (Free or paid) Writer looking for interesting projects to assist with!

I'm David Court, and I've been roleplaying since being roped into a game of TSR's Boot Hill back in the late 1980s. Most of my adult life has been spent running campaigns for Judge Dredd, Delta Green, Call of Cthulhu, Traveller, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mothership and Tales From The Loop.

Professionally, I've worked in software development for the past 28 years. Around 14 years ago, I decided to take my writing more seriously, and since then I've had short stories, plays, poems, comic scripts, and articles published by a range of publishers and outlets.

I've recently semi-retired from the software industry and now work just three days a week, which gives me more time to devote to writing and the hobbies I love most.

Roleplaying and board games have always been my greatest passions, and I'd love the opportunity to contribute to either industry. If you're looking for a writer but don't currently have the budget, I'd still be delighted to hear from you if the project sounds interesting. I'm happy to work for credit on the right project. That said, if you do have a budget available, even a modest one, I'd naturally be grateful for paid work as well.

You can find a list of my published work here: https://www.davidjcourt.co.uk/bibliography

I am currently working on making dungeons, bosses, and gods. Mind you, I'm making each of them have a short novel in length of backstory, even if the user only confronts it once per game.

Since you're a writer, you must be creative. I am the creator of 9 Planets, and I only need a companion that's preferably creative, and I think you could help me.

So, don't worry about working hard when you're here. Personally, I find that creativity doesn't require working hard. Here is the link to my game on itch.io: https://catsrule1234123.itch.io/9-planets

Sounds like fun :)  And flavour text is absolute king.  I'll have a look and a play!

:)

Thanks, flavor text is not very advanced right now.

For credits, is David Court okay? I always like to double check.

It is; is there anything in particular you'd like me to look at making a start on?   What you've got so far is a little overwhelming in where to begin :)

Go to the "lore" tab. There, you can write some lore. Play my game for a while, see what lore fits (if you want).

Or you can make bosses. Bosses have like a short novel in backstory. You can read my rough draft of Heart of Obsidion if you want. (it's not done).

Or if you really want to, you can make some dungeons. Scroll down to my dungeons part if you want some inspiration (only the bad one is complete. Don't touch my current rough draft for the good one; that's inspired on my friend that tragically moved away).

The problem with dungeons, and with all of it, really, is that I'm planning to do a marathon. I want a very high number of bosses, each with very good backlore. And same with dungeons.

But you can do the amount that you want, obviously. I'm not asking you to do anything- in fact, whatever you do I will be eternally grateful, even if it is just writing 4 words :)

I saw you recently released a new game.

Let's team up to make a bundle.

Perhaps we could look into charities, although you'd have to organize that (because it's illegal for a minor to have PayPal).

Or maybe we could temporarily increase each of our games to $10, then give a 100% discount.

I just want to boost downloads for you, and, okay, for me too :)

Cool :)  I'll have a proper look when I'm properly online.
