Its growing fast , https://map.meshcore.io/
It looks like there’s two meshcore nodes in my area but the guys I talk to on Meshtastic don’t seem to know anyone else who uses meshcore. I might get an extra device and flash it to Meshcore to experiment.
We are mostly rural though so Meshtastic’s dense flood system works better here.
For some reason that link is not loading for me.
EDIT Now it is.
Happens to me sometimes too, just type meshcore map in your browser, try to move map, after about 6 seconds there is a response. This is my country Belgium

Currently I’m reading up on documentation about meshcore and reticulum, will start in the fall with the purchase of hardware
My biggest problem with meshcore is definitely the mix between fully open source software and the proprietary freemium software model.
The actual core of the system is open source. The app they promote as the official app is proprietary and premium and not open source.
The default map on the meshcore website appears to only accept uploads from their premium proprietary non-open source application, which makes it kind of quite frankly useless.
Open-source apps like meshcore-open and meshngr exist now, but for almost a year, the only app you could get was proprietary shitware.
Also, some of the firmware for some devices is not open source either. The community firmware from my understanding is open source, but firmware for like the T-Deck is proprietary.
With all that said, I have actually tried meshcore with meshcore-open and I really like it. The app is much simpler and easier to get your head around because you only get presented with the settings that need to be changed.
I do not know why, but for whatever reason, after about a day or two of being connected to my node and just living my life walking in range and out of range, etc., the app will no longer find my device anymore, and I have to factory reset the device in order to get it to come back. So I’m not certain what’s going on with that.
The more time moves forward, the more militant about open source I am becoming. And so I will not touch the freemium proprietary shitware app for anything. At all. It’s not going to fucking happen.
Edit: A link to my bug report. https://github.com/zjs81/meshcore-open/issues/331
Yeah the weird licensing situation concerns me too. I’m sticking with meshtastic for the time being I think.
I’m sticking with meshtastic because of two different things at the moment. Firstly, meshtastic is the only thing that’s actually available in my area. Nobody else uses meshcore here currently. And second of all, I’m having that problem with my node, getting disconnected from the device after a couple of days, and having to factory reset it in order to get it back. And I don’t know what’s going on with that. Which prevents me from using meshcore even if I wanted to.
Hello, try to do this the same with a non lineage phone and see if something changes in operation.
I don’t have a non lineage phone because I only use open source software. I will not use a standard Android device. That’s not going to happen.
I understand you, recently have Bluetooth problems on my grapheneOs, namely irregular crashing of 2 Foss music apps, the same apps are also on a lineage motorola edge phone and an old android, as a reference. Now trying to deduce by comparison where the problem lies
Awesome, welcome to meshcore :)
Feel free to DM me if you run into any problems.
Thanks for ivitation, I’m now studying everything about meshcore and reticulum, have just discovered that learning something new at an older age is not so fast anymore but we’ll get there, do you have any particular preference or tips regarding hardware preferably with solar power Test period will be autumn or winter,
Greating from Belgium
I’ve been using SenseCap P1 Pro, it’s been working flawlessly so far.
