01:38This is Project Runway.
01:39All Stars.
01:40This is Project Runway.
01:41All Stars.
01:42This is Project Runway.
01:43All Stars.
01:45All Stars.
01:52And a career-changing mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
01:57This is Project Runway.
01:58All Stars.
02:01is Project Runway, All-Stars.
02:16Yes, it is me, I came back.
02:17I can't believe I came back either,
02:19but I am here, back, taking it for everything it is.
02:22We're leaving with the prize this time, period.
02:27Hmm.
02:28It's a whole lot fancier than I remember.
02:33Okay.
02:35First one in, last one out.
02:37Where the competition at?
02:41It has been a decade since I have walked
02:44into the Project Runway work group,
02:47and I'm hoping it's like riding a bike.
02:50What, beautiful!
02:53How are you?
02:54Aw.
02:55Girl, it's been a minute.
02:56I'm so glad to see your face.
02:58Oh, my God.
03:00Last time I was on runway, I was married,
03:02and now I'm newly separated.
03:05I'm a single mom.
03:06So on the finale of season five,
03:08my four-year-old daughter walked the runway with me,
03:10and she's now 18, she's going to college this fall.
03:13Be a good girl and not go to no college dorm parties.
03:16Mama, why are you acting like...
03:18And now I have a son, he's eight.
03:20I know I have a potty mouth, but I'm going to try not to.
03:23No bad words.
03:25I'm done.
03:26That's some bull .
03:27This is bull .
03:29I'm not going to do anything to embarrass you on TV.
03:33Don't try.
03:34I'm going to try my best.
03:37Now I'm focusing on leisure, comfort, and chicness.
03:42I do a lot of layering, but it's very based in my culture.
03:45I really try to use the folds and the pleats to just accentuate a woman's body.
03:50And it's my responsibility as an African designer to continue to grow who we are and just make it saucier.
03:57I'm very proud of you, Mama.
03:59Like, literally my inspiration to do great.
04:02You don't just do stuff and give up.
04:04It's not always going to work out.
04:05Look at me, I've come in second twice.
04:07Katul, that means you're out.
04:10The winner of Project Runway All-Stars is...
04:15Seth Aaron.
04:19Congratulations.
04:22Hug her for us, too, please.
04:24I will, I will, I will.
04:26But my life doesn't reflect a second place person.
04:28You know what I'm saying?
04:31I hope you and me standing up there at the end, girl.
04:33Yeah, show them how it's done.
04:34You see, they need all these, like, fancy tools and things.
04:37Yeah.
04:38We made it happen with way less, so...
04:40Right?
04:41So I did Project Runway season three back in the dinosaur years of, like, 2006.
04:46And I made top five, which I was elated.
04:49Was the only designer not from LA, New York, or Miami.
04:52Then I did All-Stars in 2012.
04:54Made it to the top seven.
04:56So it's already been a journey.
04:58My hair has also been on a journey.
05:00Season three, I had this blondish red, spiky, kind of mohockey do.
05:06And then I did All-Stars.
05:08You know, my hair was thinning just a little bit.
05:10So I had to basically get some new hair.
05:13So now I'm back.
05:14You know, I decided to go all black.
05:16I know, I know how you do.
05:18You know, I'm dressing for the funeral of everyone else, except for you.
05:21You can be there with me, maybe.
05:22See, so I was feeling the energy.
05:24Ah!
05:24Welcome to the party.
05:26Hi.
05:27Hi.
05:28Hello, beautiful.
05:29How are you?
05:30Good.
05:31I'm good.
05:32I was just enamored by your cleavage.
05:34I love a good cleavage moment.
05:36Oh, thank you.
05:37Anna, serving the tatas.
05:40Come on, girl.
05:40I like you already.
05:42Meet you, Anna.
05:42You're so pretty.
05:43I know.
05:45How was it?
05:47I had a regress for season 19.
05:50I definitely believe I myself will be the finale, but I couldn't.
05:59Oh, my God.
06:00You got the answer?
06:01I got the answer.
06:03Last season, I had unexpected car accident.
06:07I couldn't control my emotion and focus on design and the competition.
06:13Good job, baby.
06:14Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
06:16Anna, your look was executed poorly.
06:19And it was not appropriate for a reunion show.
06:24Anna, you are out.
06:28Coming back this season and doing this all over again,
06:30I think I'm in a way better place.
06:33I am more confident than before.
06:36Anna, we're almost three here?
06:38Yeah?
06:38It's just us, girl.
06:39Just us girls.
06:41OK, girl.
06:42OK, let's see who else.
06:46Ah, dirty boots.
06:58Who we got?
06:59Being here again, it's good emotions and it's, like, nerve emotions.
07:03Hi.
07:04How are you?
07:05Victor and I did All Stars 3 together.
07:08I think he's an amazing designer, but Victor is the shade king.
07:12Jeffrey's look has that abuelita look to it.
07:16And that's grandma for people that don't know.
07:18Kato is, look, you could call it a curtain.
07:20Where's the design?
07:21I'm inspired by the era of punk neon.
07:24Are you crazy?
07:25Get that fan out and shade your little ass to death.
07:30But I think he knows not to test mama.
07:32You can't handle me.
07:33Don't come for me.
07:34So grab a drink.
07:36I'll call you later.
07:37First one in, last one out.
07:39Cheers.
07:39That's right.
07:41This time around, I don't know.
07:42There's a different vibe.
07:44But do not cross me, bitch, because I will cut you.
07:48Yeah, I love it there.
07:49It's just, it's very private.
07:52I have a car, you know?
07:53OK, drive in, all right.
07:55How's your kid?
07:56I remember you were pregnant.
07:57Good.
07:58He's eight now.
08:00So he's been good.
08:01So he's grown.
08:02Yeah, he's a grown man.
08:03So I walk in, and I don't think anybody knows who I am.
08:08Like, it's like, I don't even know why you're, like,
08:09famous and doing fashion shows.
08:11Like, what is that?
08:13I was like, there's like, one last go.
08:15Yeah, one last go.
08:16Let's have fun, and let's have fun.
08:18Hi, wait, where'd you come from?
08:21Hi, OK, I thought you worked here.
08:23And what season are you?
08:25One.
08:26Ah!
08:27Wait, of the originals.
08:29Yes, yes, yes.
08:30It's kind of iconic to see someone that was on season one
08:35and endured what they endured without having
08:38any history to prepare for.
08:39Of the originals.
08:41Last time you saw me, I was 21.
08:44I was fresh out of school.
08:47I had a mohawk.
08:51But my life has kind of gone in a different direction.
08:55And look, there's mommy.
08:57Oh, jeez.
08:58Huh!
08:59That is just, whoo!
09:01Yeah.
09:02I'm leaving my husband and my kids for this opportunity.
09:05I'm very nervous.
09:06I think it's going to be crazy.
09:09I think this is good.
09:1618 years ago, I was interning at my company, Authentic,
09:19as a designer.
09:21Today, I'm the creative director.
09:23All right.
09:24No, no, no.
09:25I don't physically make clothes like I used to make clothes.
09:29I manage a team of designers.
09:31I let everybody do their thing.
09:33And then I select.
09:35And then we just bring products to the market.
09:37I've done some work with lots of different department stores.
09:42Then I've also had the really cool experience
09:44of doing projects like Kendall and Kylie.
09:48Just not a new ball gown.
09:50Cheers to you guys.
09:51You started it off.
09:52Cheers to you guys.
09:52It's all about here right now, y'all.
09:55I'm just honored, you know, giving me another chance.
09:58Kind of show everybody.
10:00This is how far I've come.
10:02And this is what I can do now.
10:04It's kind of cool.
10:05All right.
10:06Hello.
10:07Oh, my God.
10:08Who is this?
10:09I'm back.
10:11I'm waxed.
10:12I'm waxed.
10:13And I am ready to compete.
10:15Hi, beautiful.
10:17Hi.
10:18Oh, my God.
10:20But coming back, I would be lying
10:22if I said I wasn't a little anxious.
10:25Look at us.
10:26Come back, they said.
10:27It'll be fun, they said.
10:30Hi, I'm Hester.
10:33Nice to meet you guys.
10:34Hello, gorgeous.
10:35Hi.
10:36I just went in for the house.
10:37Oh, my God.
10:38Hi, teeny weeny.
10:39I feel very grateful that I was chosen amongst the people
10:43that are standing in front of me right now.
10:45But I'm a little bit intimidated.
10:47Are we really back here again?
10:48I mean, Allie, no.
10:49Oh, oh, oh, oh.
10:51What was I thinking not making a skirt?
10:54This is silk.
10:55Get out of this aisle.
10:55Oh, .
10:56Oh, .
10:57Oh, .
10:58Oh, .
10:59Ow.
11:00Sorry.
11:01I'm already exhausted.
11:02Goodbye.
11:03Stress level just skyrocketed.
11:05On that note.
11:07Hello.
11:08Welcome to the party.
11:12Oh, my God.
11:13You little you.
11:14I'm not an asshole.
11:15I'm not an asshole.
11:16You're a person who you are in a cage.
11:17No, I love her.
11:18Oh, .
11:19This is crazy.
11:20Is that season 17?
11:21Fish me.
11:22Fish me.
11:23My little fish baby.
11:24I'm so excited.
11:25Not only someone from my season on but someone who I love.
11:41And also, I'm so excited to see Gat another chance
11:43to show the world how talented he is.
11:45Hello.
11:47So, you're the only one from Lucy's?
11:48Hello.
11:49So far, I'm in stores.
11:50I'm not in stores.
11:51I mean, if this is the group,
11:52I'm terrified for whoever else will take it.
11:55And Spocko.
11:58I can't believe you're straight back.
12:00Yeah.
12:01Hello.
12:02Okay.
12:03Wow.
12:05Oh, my God.
12:07That's crazy.
12:16Lock the doors.
12:17Lock the doors.
12:18I mean, if this is the group,
12:19I'm terrified for whoever else will take it.
12:22I mean, if this is the group,
12:23I'm terrified for whoever else will take it.
12:25And Spocko.
12:26Look how beautiful I have.
12:27I can't believe you're straight back.
12:29Thank y'all.
12:29Hi.
12:30Okay.
12:31I'm in.
12:32Hi.
12:33All right.
12:35Welcome to the party mistake.
12:37Oh, my gosh.
12:38Y'all the original carousane is in the house.
12:39Wait, carousane?
12:39I cannot believe I am coming back to Project Runway.
12:43This is insane.
12:44She's sort of a look.
12:45I am floored to see Kara Saan.
12:48She inspired me.
12:49The first black woman to be on Project Runway ever,
12:52and she killed it in her season.
12:54She should have won.
12:57I'm excited that I came here, and I just
13:00wanted to rely on my creativity and my talent
13:04without sort of playing any tricks or games
13:06or stabbing anyone in the back.
13:09I'm proud that I had four wins.
13:12The winner of the silent auction,
13:14you're the winner of the wedding dress challenge.
13:17You have won this week's challenge.
13:18Kara Saan, you have won again.
13:20This is what designers dream about.
13:24I'm going to put everything that I've ever
13:27learned in my life into it.
13:29That's right.
13:30No way!
13:33OG!
13:34OG Nora!
13:35Oh my god!
13:3718, 18, 18 years!
13:40Oh my god!
13:41Coming back after literally 18 years is very surreal.
13:48You totally influenced me to be on this show.
13:51Oh, did I?
13:52I just want to thank you.
13:52Oh, thank you.
13:53You are everything.
13:54Everything.
13:55And no one that ever tells you that, please know it.
13:57You are.
13:58Aw, that means so much.
13:58Representation matters.
14:00Kara Saan.
14:00Kara Saan, nice to meet you.
14:01OG season one.
14:01Kara Saan is literally the first black fashion designer to compete on Project Runway.
14:06I was a teenager when she was on her season, so it's just dope to realize that I'm here
14:13amongst greatness.
14:14This is super awesome.
14:16Like, I didn't understand.
14:18What season one is?
14:19Season 17.
14:20When I was on Project Runway season one, it was such an inspirational story.
14:26I was final two.
14:28I run on Project Runway was awesome.
14:31It's like the gift that keeps on giving.
14:33Literally, my first job off of Project Runway was a director called me and he said, hey, I saw
14:43you on Project Runway and, you know, I think that you can work really well with costume designing for talent.
14:51And he was right.
14:53It was great.
14:54And from there, I got so many amazing jobs.
14:58Now I'm costume designing for Disney Descendants, which has been a six year odyssey.
15:05I just love projects that just allows your mind to run wild.
15:12You're really building worlds.
15:15How are you guys feeling, like, coming back in tonight?
15:18Oh, it's great.
15:19I'm excited.
15:20You're excited?
15:21I'm excited.
15:22I'm just ready to get started.
15:30I can't tell you all of my tricks.
15:33It's been three years since Project Runway.
15:36I'm disappointed.
15:38I'm not going to lie.
15:40I understand.
15:41Fish me.
15:42I'm sorry.
15:43That means you are out.
15:44So I was trying to see what would work out of, like, this game.
15:49Since I was on Project Runway, I moved here to LA with nothing and took a risk on myself.
15:55It's a bit of a roller coaster, but it's a good one.
15:58I've been making a name for myself here in LA, dressing Chloe Bailey, Jennifer Hudson.
16:04I dressed Lizzo.
16:05For Chloe Bailey, I would love to get her in more of a sexy, flowing situation that kind
16:10of shows her body.
16:11I am a women's wear designer that focuses on avant-garde with a twist and touch of streetwear.
16:18I've been progressing, and I definitely could see major growth within how I design.
16:24The direction that I have for myself is more clear.
16:27I'm honestly thankful because I literally started as a kid in the hood in Baltimore just sketching
16:35designs, and I feel that I'm continuing the job that I set out to do for myself and just
16:40inspire people that look like me and come from where I come from.
16:46These past two years, I've been working and grinding, and I feel as though it's been prepping
16:51for me to get to this moment to showcase all the growth that I made.
16:58During the time I was filming Project Runway, my sister was diagnosed with colon cancer, and
17:05it's only been a month and a couple of weeks since my sister passed away.
17:13I know my sister is extremely proud, and I can't let her down.
17:21I'm just ready, because I know my sister is, like, looking down.
17:28So we all on the same season?
17:30No, she was on season 19.
17:32I was 18.
17:33Oh, okay.
17:34Oh, you, like, left for a day, and then you had a baby, and then you came back.
17:36Exactly.
17:37You had a baby?
17:38Yes.
17:39I know I don't look like that.
17:40Last time I was on Project Runway, that was a year ago.
17:43Literally got pregnant the night.
17:45I was eliminated from season 19.
17:48What?
17:49My husband and I didn't see each other for a long time.
17:52We were thirsty.
17:56Mama.
17:57You're a mama.
17:59You're a mama.
18:01Alex is four months now.
18:03He's beautiful.
18:04And he smiles every morning he wakes up, and that makes me the happiest person in the world.
18:09Before the baby boy, I see a lot of things in black and white.
18:13Now I see this world in color, and I embrace all the color into my collection.
18:20You will see the baby pink, the red, kind of embracing this moment, and these are the colors that I see.
18:29Remember to find the nails, okay?
18:32Don't scratch the face again.
18:33No more, okay?
18:34I don't think I will be okay missing all these beautiful moments, but I know I'm living for more for my family and for him.
18:44Okay.
18:45Why are you crying?
18:46The baby.
18:47I love that you want to honor your baby and that you miss him.
18:50I understand, but that's the moments I had with him.
18:54So everything I saw from here, the moments I had with him is the inspiration of the dress.
18:59So.
19:00I know you use my boobs.
19:02Yeah, I love your boobs.
19:03Your boobs look great.
19:04Congratulations.
19:06Cheers to being the last in.
19:07Oh my God, this is a good-looking cast.
19:09I've watched these people.
19:10They were the reason why I wanted to join Project Runway because I wanted to be part of that group.
19:16This is fantastic.
19:18These are some of the best of Project Runway.
19:21Now we're competing with each other.
19:23I can't believe you're here.
19:25I know.
19:26Me either.
19:27Where's my nephew?
19:28My nephew's not here.
19:30Last season, I was like a volcano that's already erupted.
19:34Not ready to erupt, but already erupted.
19:36The fact that you don't listen to Christian might take the whole team down.
19:39If he wants to give an opinion, you just shut the up.
19:42You let him speak.
19:43I believe in that, but also, like, I want to go home because of my opinions, not because of Christian's.
19:47I'm not going down for nobody who made up one decision for not listening to the professional in the room.
19:52And now we're back again for round two, and you better expect a show, baby.
19:57I'm stressed out, Mimi.
19:59Are you going to put anything on her?
20:01Oh.
20:02Why?
20:03It doesn't need a necklace.
20:04Don't you dare put a necklace on this thing.
20:07Like, that literally gave me anxiety, girl.
20:09I almost threw this mannequin at you.
20:11Stop yelling!
20:12Those .
20:13Cameras everywhere.
20:14Sorry!
20:15So this is our workroom.
20:16Yep.
20:17I'll take it.
20:18For 300.
20:19We got another rock star in the house.
20:22How you doing?
20:23Hi.
20:24So good.
20:25Hi.
20:26I'm Hester.
20:27Leron's chair work is incredible.
20:28It's really tight.
20:29Really different than what I do.
20:30How are you doing?
20:31How are you doing?
20:32How are you doing?
20:33How are you doing?
20:34Hi.
20:35How are you doing?
20:36So good.
20:37Hi.
20:38I'm Hester.
20:39Leron's chair work is incredible.
20:40It's really tight.
20:41Really different than what I do.
20:42How are you doing?
20:43How are you doing?
20:44Everything.
20:45But I do think she's a fierce competitor.
20:46So what have you been up to?
20:47Hey.
20:48Just working, man.
20:49I've just been working my ass off since I left, you know, this beautiful One Way thing.
20:53Yeah.
20:54So it's been six years since I've been on Project One Way.
20:55Back then I used to dream to be able to say I am a fashion designer.
21:10Before I was like, I'm a model slash bartender slash designer.
21:15There's no more slash.
21:17I am a fashion designer now.
21:20My dress, Yvonne Orji, Gina Rodriguez, Aldis Hart.
21:25Ultimately, I would love to be a household name, but I am not there yet.
21:29Can't wait to see this.
21:30I might make me one.
21:32I want to come back because I have a bone to pick with you guys.
21:38The last time I was on the show, I was third position.
21:41For me, Leron's, you know, clean, spectacular, those are in stores already.
21:47I might have dropped the ball, maybe at the finale.
21:49I was like, I was like, I lost.
21:51That's how I went home.
21:52I lost.
21:53I was mad.
21:54This time, I got to win.
21:56I wonder what they're going to have us do.
21:58I know.
21:59I'm like, are we going to mood?
22:00Are we doing a challenge right now?
22:02It is time for Project Runway's most feared.
22:07Oh my God.
22:08What's going on, y'all?
22:09Most revered.
22:10Yes.
22:11And famed way to torture designer.
22:14Oh my God.
22:15What is that?
22:16Boom bop.
22:17Boom bop.
22:19Tomorrow.
22:20Oh God.
22:21You're going on a road trip.
22:22Yes.
22:23Oh my God, is that Diddy?
22:25Oh my God, is that Diddy?
22:27I thrive on like competition, like fast deadlines, fast creativity.
22:34My aesthetic is, let me think about that for a second.
22:39My aesthetic is post-apocalyptic, non-binary party person who also wants to be incredibly
22:45comfortable and may need to fight some zombies later in the day.
22:51It has been three years since I was on Project Runway.
22:54The last time you guys saw me, I had curly hair, long, I was wearing skirts, I was wearing
22:59a lot more makeup.
23:01I realized that just doesn't really suit me anymore.
23:04I had a big change in myself in terms of who I am and how I identify.
23:09I realized that I'm much more close to the non-binary spectrum than I had realized before.
23:15Now what I'm really passionate about is making clothing for people who don't ascribe to a
23:19gender binary, who kind of exist in the margins.
23:22I mean, I love that.
23:23Do you see it?
23:24Last time I was on Project Runway, it was a little tough for me.
23:27I spent the whole first day spitting my wheels.
23:30Okay, I gotta just make this and see.
23:33Ah!
23:34Ah!
23:35Help me!
23:36It's in my nails!
23:37Someone please help me!
23:38Ow!
23:39Ow!
23:40Ow!
23:41It's in my nails!
23:42I am a very different competitor than I was.
23:43I know I'm the best and I know I'm gonna win and I would never have been able to say
23:46that on season 17.
23:48I'm here for all of the little queer dough Jews and I'm here for kind of anyone who feels
23:53like an oddball, who feels like maybe they don't have a place in high fashion, I am
23:58ready to dominate the competition.
24:00No oddball.
24:01All right, who in God's name could walk through that door now?
24:04No one else.
24:05Here's the last one.
24:06Yeah.
24:07Girl, for you, Chloe.
24:08How are you?
24:09I cannot believe that I'm coming back to Project Runway, but it felt like the right
24:15time and the right thing for me right now.
24:17Hi!
24:18How are you?
24:19Hi!
24:20I've known Mila for so long.
24:22She's a lovely designer.
24:24Like, she has a point of view.
24:25It's very sharp.
24:26She knows who she is.
24:27I've been working as a costume designer on awesome stuff like Top Gun and Barbie.
24:32That's dope.
24:33I was on Project Runway and I got great press from it.
24:37I had a runway show.
24:38I was selling to stores.
24:39It was great except that I was really burnt out.
24:42And after five years, I feel like I was on the precipice of taking it to the next level.
24:49But in order to do that, I needed help and didn't know what to do.
24:54I made a very hard decision to close my business down.
24:58I decided to pursue a career in costume design.
25:03I love being a costume designer, but I do feel like I'm not done designing.
25:09The best collection was the last one I made.
25:15I think that there is still part of me who is that girl who graduated from design school
25:21and still has a dream of having a line of clothing.
25:26I didn't think I'd get emotional.
25:38I think a lot about, what if?
25:41What if I kept going?
25:47I feel like I deserve another chance because I am a great designer.
25:53And I just think I have a lot more ahead of me.
25:57Am I the only one here?
25:59Not anymore.
26:00Clearly I'm not.
26:01Everybody is in the house.
26:02Why do we need more?
26:03There's more.
26:04It's going to be somebody iconic.
26:05Someone's coming through the door.
26:17Someone's coming through the door.
26:19Hello.
26:21I'm making some full-on party and I'm just getting here.
26:24I remember watching Fabio's season, seeing his work and being very impressed with it.
26:29But I love Fabio.
26:30I love his work.
26:31Hi, Victor.
26:32I can appreciate everything he does.
26:34Seeing him now, it's kind of like, oh, he's here.
26:37I'm going to throw up.
26:39Fabio is a legend.
26:41I'm terrified, to say the least.
26:46Now board the doors up.
26:48And I'm like, bitch, you really came back to compete against Fabio.
26:52I don't know whether to throw up or pass out or celebrate or...
26:57What was your season?
26:58Oh, he's been on 85 seasons.
27:01Yeah, yeah.
27:02So season 10 was my first time, and then All Stars 4, and then All Stars 6.
27:07I feel I am such a baby.
27:10They definitely have some advantage because they know the challenge even more.
27:17But I don't feel intimidated by anybody because they're old.
27:22I'm fresh air.
27:24I mean, it's lovely to see you, but it's very intimidating.
27:28Really?
27:29Because your shirt is really good.
27:30I'd be lying if I told you that, like, I'd be okay with not winning.
27:35Well, I was a finalist for season 10.
27:37I came back for All Stars season 4 when I placed fifth.
27:41And then, as if I'm not crazy enough, I came back for All Stars season 6,
27:45where I was a finalist once again.
27:48Every season that I came back, I was able to grow a lot more,
27:52find out a lot more about who I am as a person.
27:55If third time isn't the charm, fourth would have to be.
28:00I'm, like, freaking out.
28:01Is this for real?
28:02There's a lot of fashion happening here.
28:04This is a show.
28:07Oh, wow.
28:13I am dying.
28:14I just can't get enough of it.
28:15I love it.
28:16I want to wear that dress.
28:18It all just creates this bad bitch vibe.
28:22It's so good.
28:23I think it's fantastic.
28:24Yes.
28:25There's something just really fly about it.
28:27That was everything.
28:29Yes.
28:30I don't think anyone else is coming.
28:31I think this is it.
28:32One, two, four, five, six, seven.
28:34Eight.
28:36There's more.
28:37Do you work in fashion in LA?
28:39Oh, my God.
28:40Holy cow.
28:41This competition is getting serious.
28:44He was on my all-star.
28:45Oh, yeah.
28:46It's Rami.
28:47Rami.
28:48Yeah, yeah.
28:49I actually beat him in my challenge.
28:51He what?
28:52Like, he lost to me in all-stars.
28:53Woo!
28:54He's like, he gonna be back for vengeance.
28:56Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
28:57Hi, I love your beard.
28:58How do you?
29:00Good to see you.
29:01What is your name?
29:02Laurence.
29:03Laurence?
29:04Yes.
29:05Rami.
29:06During season four of Project One Way,
29:08I was a finalist with Christian,
29:10but not only that,
29:11we were roommates.
29:12Christian is like a cartoon character.
29:14There's so much yakking and bitching.
29:17If I had hair on my head,
29:18I'd want to tear it out.
29:19Oh, my God.
29:20I'm gonna die of darkness.
29:23We went through that whole journey together
29:25all the way till the end, literally.
29:28Christian.
29:33You are the winner of Project One Way.
29:36Congratulations.
29:39Christian is the mentor on the show,
29:41and he has succeeded and established a lot.
29:45Just, like, looking at Fashion Week,
29:46I saw some of his work on the red carpet.
29:48He's, like, taking it to the next level,
29:50and I really have respect for that.
29:52Because at the end of the day,
29:53we still care about each other.
29:55This is so surreal to, like, see everybody...
29:57It's so crazy.
29:59Since I've been on Project One Way,
30:02been commissioned by Queen Rania of Jordan,
30:05I dressed Kim Kardashian.
30:08I want to challenge myself as a creative artist
30:11and hopefully reach the finish line.
30:14Well, I love your stuff.
30:15I'm a draper because of you.
30:17Yeah.
30:18Having been a finalist
30:20and having shown my collection before,
30:22I know firsthand
30:23it really does make a difference in one's career.
30:25Wow.
30:26What does it feel like to be here?
30:28I mean, I did this...
30:29This is only three years ago.
30:30I know.
30:31So this is probably most recent for you.
30:32So, yeah.
30:33It feels a little fresh.
30:34I'm not gonna lie.
30:35God have mercy on our souls.
30:37Oh, my God.
30:39It doesn't feel good.
30:40Oh, my God.
30:41This is so intense.
30:48It's such a moment.
30:50I don't know if this is the place for me.
30:53My nerves are shocked.
30:55I know.
30:56I'm like, can we just go to mood?
30:57Yeah, can we get started?
30:58Can we get started?
30:59Let's go.
31:00Let's do this .
31:01Oh, wait.
31:04Oh!
31:05Hi, everybody.
31:06Oh, my God.
31:07What's going?
31:08Welcome back.
31:13This is surreal, right?
31:14It is, right?
31:15It's weird.
31:16It's like a dream.
31:17It's like a time war.
31:19All right, guys.
31:20You all know me.
31:21I will be your mentor.
31:22Hi.
31:23Ouch.
31:24We'll see how it goes.
31:25We shall.
31:26Be nice.
31:27Obviously, I know some of you.
31:29Rami from my season.
31:30How are you?
31:31I'm good.
31:32How are you?
31:33Good.
31:34Oh, snap.
31:35They're gonna fight.
31:36I know how good you are.
31:37And I'm, like, thinking, does Rami want to be here?
31:38I can't figure it out.
31:39And, of course, the OG, the only one on Project Runway that have seen you all compete.
31:41Wow.
31:42The Nina Garcia.
31:43And you haven't aged a bit.
31:45I'm gonna go to Rami.
31:46I'm gonna go to Rami.
31:47I'm gonna go to Rami from my season.
31:48How are you?
31:49I'm good.
31:50How are you?
31:51Good.
31:52Oh, snap.
31:53They're gonna fight.
31:54I know how good you are.
31:55And I'm, like, thinking, does Rami want to be here?
31:56I can't figure it out.
31:57And, of course, the OG, the only one on Project Runway that have seen you all compete.
32:04Wow.
32:05The Nina Garcia.
32:06And you haven't aged a bit.
32:08I'm convinced that the movie Benjamin Button is about Nina.
32:11She's, like, a fine wine.
32:13She gets better with age.
32:14It's so good to see you.
32:15All these memories are flooding back, seeing all of your faces.
32:20That's Cain, and that's what you get.
32:23Cain or Elvis?
32:25Elvis is alive and well, right?
32:29It feels poorly made.
32:38This is the star.
32:39Thank you, Nina.
32:40I think it looks like a bad costume.
32:42It's terrible.
32:44These arrows look like they're pointing at her crotch.
32:48I mean, this would not work at all.
32:50This is your life, Nina.
32:52This is your whole life.
32:54You are all like my children.
32:56It's a real connection.
32:58So it's very, um, I don't know.
33:02It's very emotional to see you guys.
33:04Aw.
33:06All of you have competed before.
33:08Some of you almost 20 years ago.
33:10Which is pretty crazy.
33:11Wow.
33:12It feels like yesterday.
33:13It's so scary.
33:14Aw.
33:15All right, guys.
33:17I can say without question, I know Nina agrees,
33:20that this really is the most talented group of designers
33:23we've ever had.
33:25You should be, too.
33:26You are the ones that I wanted to see again.
33:30You're the ones that got away.
33:32So it's really exciting.
33:34All right, so let me tell you guys.
33:36It's going to be hard.
33:37Oh, no.
33:38It's going to be the most difficult, competitive season yet.
33:41The winner is going to take home a quarter of a million dollars
33:46supplied by Pilot Friction Erasable Pens.
33:49Fabulous.
33:50A feature in Elle Magazine.
33:52Mm-hmm.
33:53Yes.
33:54Yes.
33:55And a career-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
33:58All right.
34:00This is unbelievable.
34:01$250,000.
34:03Amazing.
34:04Ours was $100,000 back in the day.
34:08And doing it 20 years later.
34:10What an incredible legacy.
34:12All right, everybody.
34:14It's time to get started.
34:15Follow us.
34:16Come on, Nina.
34:17Let's do it.
34:18Are we going somewhere?
34:19We're all going somewhere.
34:20Follow us.
34:21Oh, boy.
34:22Here we go again.
34:23Here we go.
34:24Being here, you feel like this anxiousness.
34:26I don't know why we sign up for this craziness.
34:28Can we bring our drinks?
34:31It's showtime, baby.
34:32Good to see you.
34:33Good to see you.
34:34As for the view, oh, it's beautiful.
34:49Coming back.
34:50All right, guys.
34:51Come here.
34:52The one thing I think I did not remember is not knowing what's about to happen.
34:58I'm like, is the helicopter going to come?
35:00Like, what are we going to do on this roof, right?
35:03All right, everyone.
35:04Did you guys know that there's one thing that you all have in common?
35:08Nobody up here has won it all or taken home the grand prize.
35:13I mean, except me, of course.
35:16So this is your shot at redemption.
35:21Oh, God.
35:22What?
35:23What?
35:24Redemption is scaring the absolute out of me.
35:26I don't know what this means.
35:28Really?
35:29Sweet Mother Mary and Joseph.
35:30We have our worst things.
35:32This is your chance to change history.
35:35I'm a little nervous.
35:37I think it's going to be something sneaky and something weird.
35:39Something that I'm not going to like.
35:40Anything could happen.
35:41We brought you to the roof for a little walk down memory lane.
35:45Oh, my God.
35:46What?
35:47What?
35:48It's a runway show in front of the city where it all began.
35:55Designers, take a look.
35:57Oh, we need it.
35:59What?
36:00Oh, my God.
36:01Oh, no.
36:02Jesus.
36:03Hell.
36:04Wow.
36:05That's triggering.
36:14Nervous.
36:15Sweet Mother Mary.
36:16Justice.
36:17Next we're getting weak.
36:19You guys ready?
36:20What?
36:21I don't know what's about to happen here.
36:23A little walk down memory lane.
36:25Designers, take a look.
36:26Oh, Nina.
36:27Who that?
36:28What?
36:29What?
36:30What?
36:31What?
36:32What?
36:33What?
36:34Fabulous.
36:35Who that?
36:36Are you serious right now?
36:37This is yours.
36:38Oh, my God.
36:39Jesus.
36:40Are you serious right now?
36:42Yes.
36:43That is crazy.
36:44No.
36:45Hell.
36:46Oh, my God.
36:47Oh, my God.
36:48Well, for some of you, this is the actual look that got you eliminated.
36:53Oh, .
36:54And if you made it to the finale, this is your lowest score throughout the season.
36:59Oh, my nights.
37:01This is the look that sent me home, and it's not fun to look at it again.
37:06I wanted a fresh start, but here I am looking at the biggest mistake I made on season 18.
37:11I would have rather you just put it with a pair of jeans.
37:14Plastic butterflies detracted from the sophistication of the entire outfit.
37:19Okay.
37:20I'm stressed.
37:21I'm stressed.
37:22I'm stressed.
37:23Oh, my God.
37:24Oh, my God.
37:25There's some things just better left in the past.
37:29So, there's something going on with the proportions.
37:32I think it looks like a bar mitzvah dress that got shredded, and you wore it over a pair of pants.
37:36It doesn't make it to me.
37:37I don't know what I was thinking, really.
37:39That dress brings a lot of triggers for me.
37:46A lot.
37:47I think when I got home, I burned everything that looked like a doily in my house.
37:51And I want to burn the dress, too.
37:53I think there were some fit issues.
37:56I think she was drowning in so much doilies.
38:01The end result needed some more work.
38:05The trauma.
38:06This is, like, trauma-like.
38:07Yeah, this is trauma-like.
38:08I'm really doing this.
38:09Seriously, I thought I was done with that look.
38:12Oh!
38:13Fish you!
38:14Fish me!
38:15Oh!
38:16Whoa!
38:17Same shoes on everything.
38:19Whoa!
38:20Whoa!
38:21Whoa!
38:22Same shoes on everything.
38:25Whoa.
38:26Whoa, baby purse!
38:27Oh, yeah, cringing.
38:30Oh, my goodness.
38:31I still stand behind this.
38:34Ugh!
38:35Just when I think I'm a star, you put me back in my place.
38:40That was the dress that killed me, and I'm here for the revenge.
38:44This look, I cannot even recognize it as mine because I just suppressed it so, so, so deep
38:50in my memory that I have no recollection of it.
38:52I'm sorry.
38:53It looks to me really sad.
38:55To me, it's a grandma house coat.
38:58She should have Kleenex in her pocket.
39:00I mean, it's just...
39:01It just hangs so tight.
39:03It's sad.
39:04This is not what I was hoping to see.
39:09PTSD.
39:11Ooh!
39:12Yeah.
39:13Oh!
39:14I'm ashamed for other people and myself.
39:17It looks worse than it was when I was on.
39:20If that's even possible.
39:22It's horrible.
39:23No one wants to even claim their work.
39:25Like, you know it's bad when you don't want to claim your own children.
39:28These are your children.
39:29You're, like, denying them.
39:30Social services is coming.
39:31Let it go.
39:32What is this at?
39:37I know.
39:38Yes!
39:39Yes!
39:40There it is.
39:41I definitely understand why I was let go.
39:45Fabulous.
39:46Fabulous.
39:47Okay.
39:48Let your heart go wrong.
39:51Let your heart go wrong.
39:52When I saw my outfit come out, literally, I wanted to hide.
39:57Who does this belong to?
40:00Oh, my God.
40:01Me.
40:02I'm not going to say it was mine, but it was, uh, no, it's not mine.
40:07That's yours?
40:08Wow.
40:09Pressure's on because we already effed up on this dress that we had made on our previous season,
40:19however many years ago.
40:20I have no idea what's about to happen, but I'm ready for that redemption.
40:24Well, designers, next to you are looks I'm sure you never wanted to see again.
40:29Yeah.
40:30We want you to change history by creating the ultimate redemption look.
40:37Leaving you guys asking the question, what would you have done differently if you had the chance?
40:44Kata, what would you have done differently?
40:46Not a bathing dress.
40:47Well, designers, now you do have a chance to do it differently.
40:54Your challenge, reinvent the look that got you eliminated, or almost got you eliminated,
41:02and turn it into a high fashion moment for the runways of today.
41:06In my head, I'm going 100 miles per hour, and I'm thinking, what am I going to do?
41:10There's so many options, but at the same time, I am very lost.
41:13You don't have to use the same fabrics, and you don't have to keep the same silhouette,
41:19but the judges are going to want to see the spirit of the look in your reinventions.
41:25That's the challenge.
41:27Having the chance to redo this, and this little redemption, I kind of love it.
41:33If there were any outfit that I would want to redeem myself on, it would be this look.
41:40Good luck, and please don't let history repeat itself.
41:46And designers, there's a twist.
41:49Oh.
41:50Oh .
41:51Why are you guys doing this?
41:52Why do you guys do that to me?
41:53I was over the trauma.
41:55A twist.
41:56We don't have to.
41:58Ugh.
41:59So as soon as the word twist gets thrown around, anything can happen.
42:03None of it's going to be good.
42:04Just say it.
42:05Yeah.
42:06Give it to me.
42:08I'm going to hyperventilate.
42:10You guys are going to have new models for your challenge.
42:13I left their model cards over here with sketchbooks.
42:16You'll have 30 minutes to sketch up here.
42:19Everybody ready?
42:20Okay, I'll see you at moods.
42:22Oh, you know that.
42:23Bye.
42:24Bye.
42:25Oh my God, they're already running.
42:27Oh my God.
42:28They turned out.
42:29You guys are serious.
42:30Once you touch that card, it's in.
42:32Yes.
42:33Next on Project Runway All Stars.
42:35It's been nine years since I've been into a work room.
42:38A lot of things have changed.
42:39Remember that twist I mentioned yesterday?
42:42Holy .
42:43What?
42:44This is silk.
42:45Get out of this aisle.
42:46Oh wait.
42:47Hold on.
42:48I'm missing fabric.
42:49That is the whole structure of my skirt.
42:51I am freaking out.
42:52I want this competition to heat up.
42:54Yeah!
42:55Today's challenge is turning a negative into a positive.
42:58But this look really did not do well at all.
43:01.
