00:00And now, the series premiere of Project Runway All-Stars.
00:04Wow.
00:05The most daring, controversial designers have returned.
00:08My God, I cannot believe I'm back here.
00:10It's the best versus the best.
00:12I'm the greatest star of them all.
00:14Game on.
00:15It's you against me.
00:16You want to play like that?
00:17I'm going to kick ass.
00:18As they compete again for the biggest prize in runway history.
00:22A staggering half a million dollars.
00:24They'll be judged by a new panel of fashion experts.
00:28Hello, people.
00:28I love the new judges.
00:30Hi, designers.
00:31I'm a fan.
00:32This is a clean slate.
00:33It's time for me to redeem myself.
00:35They will rip, cut, and stitch their way through the most demanding challenges ever.
00:40The pressure is on.
00:42The battle of sheer determination begins now.
00:45Never underestimate your point.
00:47I'm going to snip everyone's pepio.
00:53This is the series premiere of Project Runway All-Stars.
00:57Last time I was here, I made it all the way to the very end, and my heart was broken.
01:11I deserve to be here.
01:12But I'm only here because I'm going to win.
01:16Oh, my God.
01:17Michael!
01:18Oh!
01:20Yes!
01:21I thought you were going to be here.
01:22I knew you were going to be here.
01:23I think I'm the best designer here because my work is fashion-forward, current, contemporary, and accessible.
01:30Getting that close to winning was a big deal, and that is sort of driving me.
01:34The most important thing that I learned when I was on Project Runway is to never second-guess myself.
01:40There are people who feel that I am not a fierce competitor, but honey, all I can say is you think this is the game?
01:46Let's go.
01:47I wouldn't be here if I wasn't good, and I'll leave here with my sash and an oversized tiara and all that.
01:53That's what I came for.
01:54I couldn't possibly commit to this type of experience if I didn't want to walk away with some sort of amazing and incredible prize.
02:03The first time, I wasn't so attached, but this time, I do want to win.
02:07I've always been a star.
02:09Darling, of course I have to be here.
02:12Someone had to put the star in All-Star.
02:18Sometimes I can come across as really stock-up, snobby, and just rude.
02:24But screw everybody else and do what you love.
02:28I'm totally fine with it.
02:29I will be competitive.
02:31Hey, Jorrell!
02:32How are you?
02:33Good to see you.
02:35Good to see you.
02:35You look cute.
02:36What's going on?
02:36You're not working.
02:42I've heard some stories about Limelight that it was a club, and now it's been turned into a shopping center.
02:47So I'm really kind of looking forward to going in there.
02:49You're up against the most talented, and you know what they can do because you've seen it on the show.
02:54Hey, oh my God.
02:55Goodness me.
02:56Yeah, I'm kind of checking to see who is my competition, and there is Sweet Pea and Mondo, and I'm like, uh-oh, here it goes.
03:04Oh my God, that Mondo with the high-top belt.
03:06Oh my God!
03:07It's exciting.
03:08All of us are here.
03:10It's on.
03:11Hello, designers.
03:21Hello.
03:22Hi.
03:23I'm Angela Lindvall.
03:24Welcome back to New York.
03:27Hi, Angela.
03:28Angela Lindvall is actually one of the most versatile models.
03:31She's done print, runway, swimwear.
03:34She's worked for all of the top designers.
03:37Angela is beautiful.
03:38I think she's a fantastic model.
03:40Easy on the eyes.
03:41I'm excited that it's going to be somebody new, a new perspective.
03:45Welcome to Project Runway All-Stars.
03:48Thanks.
03:49Over the next three months, this competition will showcase your skills in weekly challenges.
03:55As All-Stars, there will be no immunity.
03:58At the end of each challenge, one of you will be eliminated.
04:02And the rest will be one step closer to the grand prize.
04:06Do you want to know what it is?
04:07Yeah.
04:08Help, help, help.
04:09You are competing for the biggest prize in Project Runway history.
04:13The overall winning designer will receive the ultimate goal in fashion.
04:17Their own exclusive batik featuring their designs in select Neiman Marcus stores and neimanmarcus.com.
04:25Woohoo!
04:27Amazing to sell in Neiman Marcus your collection as a designer.
04:31That's every designer's dream, naturally.
04:34The winning designer will receive not only a fashion-spreaded Marie Claire magazine,
04:39but also a position as guest editor for one year.
04:42Whoa!
04:43I'd kill to be the guest editor at Marie Claire because I really believe that those are one of those experiences that are priceless.
04:54And there's more.
04:56Industrial sewing machines, fabric printers, sergers, and other equipment.
05:01All provided by Brother.
05:03Wow!
05:04And $100,000 in technology and office space from HP and Intel.
05:10Wow!
05:11And?
05:13There's more?
05:14A cash prize of $100,000 courtesy of L'Oreal Paris.
05:20That's a lot of prizes.
05:21Every single prize that was named was something that was, like, on my wish list to Santa to propel my business and propel my career.
05:29This total prize package is worth close to a staggering half a million dollars.
05:37Not a bad start.
05:38And we all know that you've been judged before.
05:43Maybe they had it right.
05:44Maybe they had it wrong.
05:45They were wrong.
05:46I am fabulous.
05:48I'm awesome.
05:49I'm talented.
05:50And I demand satisfaction.
05:53The good news is this is a clean slate.
05:56So, are you ready to meet our new judges?
05:58Yes!
05:58Yeah!
05:59People are just on the edge of their seat, you know?
06:02It's a new host, new judges.
06:04You never know what you're going to get.
06:05I know what the old judges were looking for, and I knew what they were, you know, the protocol and what they like and all of them.
06:10Honey, I have no clue about these new people, so I'm going to keep one eye open.
06:15First, please welcome the designer and co-founder of Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
06:21Woo!
06:21Woo!
06:22Woo!
06:23Woo!
06:24Hi, designers!
06:26Hi!
06:26Georgina Chapman is one of our judges, so I'm absolutely thrilled.
06:31You always see the most beautiful dresses on the red carpets are always Marquesa, so to have her as a judge is just really inspiring.
06:40And also, we have one of the most famous names in fashion, Isaac Mizrahi.
06:45Woo!
06:45Woo!
06:46Woo!
06:46Woo!
06:46Woo!
06:47Woo!
06:47Hey!
06:49Hello, people.
06:50How are you?
06:51Hi.
06:51Hello.
06:52Hi, Isaac.
06:52I greatly respect Isaac Mizrahi.
06:56Through his work, his reinvention of himself, I have constantly been inspired by over the years, and really respect him as a creator.
07:06Georgina and Isaac and I are excited to see what you've accomplished since the last time you were here.
07:11I do feel like I've grown a lot since the last time I was on this show, so I've got all sorts of new tricks up my sleeve that I plan to razzle-dazzle with.
07:17We asked you to bring a recent creation that you think represents who you are as a designer.
07:22The models are waiting for you backstage.
07:24You'll have just 30 minutes to dress them before returning to the runway for our first ever All-Stars Fashion Show.
07:31Woo!
07:32So good luck.
07:38You're good.
07:39You're just like you.
07:40Finally, it's time for me to redeem myself.
07:43Yeah.
07:44To like it out.
07:45That was great.
07:47My main competition here is Cara Jenks.
07:50I loved her collection that she did for her season.
07:53I thought it should have won, but I really like her as a person, too.
07:56So I don't want her to go, but better than me, right?
08:00Sweet Pea, I think, is phenomenal.
08:02And I think Rami's the absolute best.
08:04And I think he's my biggest competition because he's a draper.
08:08This was inspired by the Disney Concert Hall building in Los Angeles.
08:11As much as I was known for draping, there are also other things that I do very well.
08:15So as you walk out, you can literally open like a flower.
08:18Jam them in there.
08:19I like it.
08:20Okay, guys, we gotta go to Runway.
08:21You ready to go?
08:22Oh, my God.
08:23Here we go again.
08:24I'm completely panicked.
08:25Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
08:26Are you ready for your first challenge?
08:27Oh, God.
08:28There is an All-Stars twist.
08:29I'm terrified.
08:30I'm super excited to show the judges who I am as a designer at the fashion show.
08:33We asked you to bring a recent creation that you think represents who you are as a designer.
08:37Georgina and Isaac and I are excited to see what you've accomplished since the last time you were here.
08:42So let's get started.
08:43I'm not intimidated by anyone.
08:44Your biggest competition is you.
08:45I just have to do work that I think is the best that I can do.
08:50For All-Stars, I feel more confident as a designer, and I have the tools that I need to do better this time.
08:57I'm a freak about fit and construction.
08:59I'm here to bring you to bring a recent creation that you think represents who you are as a designer.
09:04Georgina and Isaac and I are excited to see what you've accomplished since the last time you were here.
09:07So let's get started.
09:08I'm not intimidated by anyone.
09:09Your biggest competition is you.
09:10I just have to do work that I think is the best that I can do.
09:13For All-Stars, I feel more confident as a designer, and I have the tools that I need to do better this time.
09:19I'm here to represent me as a designer and do what I do best.
09:24We're born naked, but as humans, it's our nature to embellish oneself, to beautify ourselves, and I just take that to the highest level possible.
09:33I am an artist and a maker by nature.
09:38So I approach designing organically.
09:40I approach it as a way of life.
09:42I came to this country with nothing but the clothes on my back.
09:47I'm here fighting for my business just like everybody else.
09:51My fabrics are always really high-class fabrics.
09:54I love doing couture because it's almost like you are sculpting.
09:58I brought something that's a little bit more toned-down version of me, a little bit more ready-to-wear.
10:04It's the softer side of me.
10:06It is my desire to make the world a beautiful and a better place one gown at a time.
10:12My model, she's making me question my sexuality right now.
10:16She really brought that dress to life.
10:18I want to stick around as long as I can.
10:20This is really a new era for me.
10:23I really want to push my own boundaries.
10:25Well, guys, that was a great start to the season.
10:31Thank you. Thank you very much.
10:33Georgina, what did you think?
10:34Congratulations, designers. That was really great.
10:37I'm just so excited to see what you guys are going to do next.
10:40Thank you very much.
10:41Isaac?
10:42So diverse, 13 specific points of view.
10:46This is going to be a great competition, I can tell.
10:48But for now, you're going to head off to your penthouse suite at the Flat Hotel New York.
10:54And I will see you guys on location for your first all-stars challenge.
11:02Have a good night.
11:10Ooh, what's this?
11:12Nice.
11:13Wow.
11:14This is good.
11:15This is good.
11:16Wow.
11:17I want to say, oh.
11:19I did jump on a couple of beds just to see if they felt right.
11:22Kind of like Goldilocks.
11:24Oh, my gosh!
11:25She marked her bed with her lipstick.
11:26What is that?
11:27I put a kiss on my bed.
11:28This is my bed.
11:29I thought it was kind of funny that Elisa, who normally likes to spit on her clothes for
11:34a mark, is marking her bed with a kiss.
11:37It's my bed.
11:39Hey, there's a note.
11:40It says press play and there's a control.
11:42Okay.
11:43I'm like looking around that whole room trying to see what am I going to grab to rip apart
11:47and make a dress out of or something out of.
11:49There you go.
11:50I'm Giancarlo Giametti.
11:51Oh.
11:52Wow.
11:53Wow.
11:54Wow.
11:55There is Giancarlo Giametti, who I instantly recognize as Valentino's partner.
12:00Something terribly important for me and very, very dear to Valentino, the new Valentino
12:07Virtual Museum, where you can visit all his work online.
12:11Project Runway All Stars.
12:14Holy .
12:15I wish to you lots of success.
12:19You have lots of talent and try to make beautiful clothes.
12:24Clothes, then they speak and they are beautiful to see them in the runway.
12:32Miranda.
12:33Oh, thank you so much.
12:34Oh.
12:35Just that one sentence when he said, you Project Runway All Stars, and I'm like, oh my God,
12:39and I'm one of them.
12:40Let's celebrate.
12:41Woo-hoo!
12:42Y'all know from the project.
12:43I thought y'all were shooting.
12:44To Valentino, the All Stars, and a beautiful...
12:45Let's celebrate.
12:46Woo-hoo!
12:47Y'all know from the project.
12:48I thought y'all were shooting.
12:49To Valentino, the All Stars, and a beautiful...
12:50Let's celebrate.
12:51Woo-hoo!
12:52Woo-hoo!
12:53Good morning, you guys.
12:54Good morning, Angela.
12:55Are you ready for your first challenge?
12:56Yes.
12:57This is the challenge that the designers love to hate, but the fans love.
13:00You guessed it, the unconventional challenge.
13:01Woo-hoo!
13:02As All Stars designers, you've got to be here.
13:03Yay!
13:04Yay!
13:05Yay!
13:06Yay!
13:07Yay!
13:08Yay!
13:09Yay!
13:10Yay!
13:11Yay!
13:12Yay!
13:13Good morning, you guys.
13:14Good morning, Angela.
13:15Are you ready for your first challenge?
13:16Yes.
13:17Yay!
13:18Yay!
13:19This is the challenge that the designers love to hate, but the fans love.
13:23You guessed it, the unconventional challenge.
13:26Woo!
13:27As All Star designers, you've got to be gonna be in the new
13:30be versatile with materials so we've given you one of the most versatile
13:35stores in America the 99 cent store Austin you did the very first
13:42unconventional challenge and you won yes I remember the very first episode of
13:47project runway ever so the pressures on Austin I know oh gosh okay we want you
13:54to design something fabulous from whatever you can find inside 99 cent
13:58creation but there is an all-stars twist your look must be inspired in some way
14:05by your look that you presented at the fashion show had I known my 99 cent
14:12dress had to reflect the first design I showed I might have brought something a
14:17little different this may be the 99 cent store but don't worry we're not only
14:21gonna give you a dollar you're all-stars we're gonna give you a hundred dollars
14:25to make your look so remember this is all about innovation so push yourself we
14:29really want you to wow us okay your 99 cent unconventional challenge starts the
14:39challenge for me is that I am trying to make something look like it's luxurious
14:43from the 99 cent store and I'm not exactly sure how to attack that challenge
14:47Lord please let me grow oh I'm about to bring down the light okay I'll come back to
14:52that I want to create something that has a lot of texture that's why I chose the
14:56mops so I needed like a cluster of mops so I just grabbed all the black and white
15:01ones I could because it was the only color that the store had a large amount of I've
15:06always been inspired by these I don't know why guys you have 10 minutes left oh I have never been this
15:16had in my life so I'm really looking for bright colors I see belts that are green and orange and
15:26dish towels so anything I see that's bright I just run towards someone hand me that finger paint right
15:32here everybody you got five minutes left I really wanted to stay away from predictable materials like
15:44washcloth I was completely blown away when long behold April's got the exact same thing that I'm
16:00doing she's making something out of the mop heads for the first challenge the inspiration is the look
16:07that we brought to the limelight even though me and Michael both purchase mops there's no way that
16:11we'll make the same dress we don't have the same aesthetic whatsoever I'm really worried that
16:16April's dress is gonna kick my dresses ass because she's like really good I'm terrified coming up on
16:24project runway all-stars Jordana's look it's a pinata what are you doing that's weird 10 minutes to the
16:30runway oh my god no no no no no no no no no oh my god where am I oh I love this we open the door and
16:47we see a really beautiful workroom it has all these different color squares it's like a color wheel
16:52all you walking into the workroom is almost a little bit overwhelming and kind of like entering
17:00through the gates of hell but also a good opportunity at the same time I love this room thank you for this
17:06room hey guys welcome to 1407 Broadway so how do you like your new workspace fantastic at each of your
17:16workstations you're gonna find HP tablets the latest touch technology from HP and Intel will help you
17:23sketch and elevate your creativity throughout the weekly challenges and I'm sure you won't forget to
17:29use the Neiman Marcus accessory wall there's some amazing pieces there right yes so later today you're
17:36gonna have your first mentor session with editor-in-chief of Mary Claire magazine Joanna Coles I was very happy to
17:43find out that our mentor was Joanna Coles just her take on fashion is really important because she's an
17:49editor of a magazine and ultimately that's who you want to impress as a designer so you guys have until
17:5510 p.m. tonight to work on your looks and then a couple of hours tomorrow before your first runway I wish you
18:02guys all a lot of luck and I'll see you on the runway
18:05she's pretty damn
18:11Alisa just moved her cutting mat down underneath and I'm thinking what are you doing that's weird
18:22now Alisa if I ever get in your way yes sir Alisa she's very different and the reason why I'm gonna give
18:29her past on being different because I had a grandmother who was committed to the crazy house
18:32so I really don't think that she's that far off her honey she's she's she's something else
18:39right now I got all these mop pieces that I'm trying to sew one individually piece by piece to
18:49create like this drapey effect thing that has to do somewhat with the draping of my other dress
18:55wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait but um April's dress looks just like what you're doing
19:00it looks the same the strings hanging straight down that's exactly what you're doing
19:08y'all need to have a woman-to-woman talk so y'all need to get on the same page
19:13all or off the same page that's the case may be
19:17hi guys hi everyone knows Marie Claire magazine so to have the editor-in-chief
19:28Joanna Coles here as our mentor is amazing I know you're all super talented I know your
19:34various skills and I'm here to help you push yourself so that you walk out of here with that
19:40$500,000 package and of course one of you on top of this incredible prize is going to be a guest
19:47editor at Marie Claire and I couldn't be more excited so good luck to everybody okay Sweet Pea
19:54what are these these towels yes right okay is there anything that will surprise the judges
20:00that they'll think oh my goodness Sweet Pea found that that's incredible I would never have thought
20:04of doing that you've got Isaac as a judge he's gonna be on you I know I'm just reminding you
20:16your job here is to really surprise them all right good luck thank you so much sweet peas dress it's
20:23raggedy ruffles that's no good me nor likey Jordana hi hi it's nice to meet you it's a pleasure to have
20:32you as our mentor thank you this dress is all about movement and I can see this is going to be
20:38about movement exactly starts walking down way it's going to be very and then I knew that I wanted to
20:43create a shorter version kind of like inspired by the dress obviously I think this is one of those
20:50stresses like you sometimes see in stores which has no appeal on the hanger and then you see it on
20:55the wearer and it comes to life exactly Jordana's look it's made of streamers it reminds me of Easter
21:02at a Mexican family's house it's a pinata I hope her model is full of candy Mondo how are you doing
21:11I don't know if I'm in the competitive mood yet and what's it going to take you to get in that
21:17competitive frame of mind I guess get through this challenge finish something and be proud of it you
21:22know this is fascinating I can't wait to see your outfit thank you I did have this little gleam of light
21:28after I talked to Joanna that yes you know this is another opportunity and this is possibly going
21:36to be the thing that allows me to flourish you're not gonna spit at me are you I know it's actually a
21:42blessing mark you do it simply with your tongue I've been doing this for 17 18 years and my clients
21:47actually pay me for my blessing they do yes they do that's pretty cool tell me what you found in the
21:52night I went for three things I was like flowers something that it's a light that flows when you're
21:58walking through the street okay so you've got the runway these are the flowers I'm not seeing much else
22:03that's all I mean you've got judges they're looking for surprised is this going to be surprising enough
22:08um I actually think it's important for you to make it surprising to yourself okay well I can't wait
22:17to see it I'm very excited to see how you pull this together thank you guys I have to go now but I have
22:22to tell you I think the judges are gonna have a really difficult time I will see you soon okay
22:26bye good night oh my god oh my god no no no no no no no no no is this the whole thing move that
22:49away right now my glue gun like melted through my whole dress at the very last moment of the evening of
22:56our challenge I realized that my plastic dress was touched by the hot glue gun and actually burned
23:05a hole right in the front of the gown hot glue guns he was working up until the very last minute
23:19there's a lot of stuff that's unfinished I really feel like this is the last that we're gonna see of
23:24mr. Austin Scarlett I don't I have barely enough time to like get the stress even the fact that I'm
23:32going to have to figure out some way to repair this very obvious hole right in the very front of the
23:37dress is just almost too much for me to handle right now I'm about to pull my hair out
23:41it's not falling apart the day of the runway that's actually that's very stressful day for us there are so
24:09many elements you have to do the finishing touches to fit your model perfectly to choose the right
24:14accessories think of hair to think of makeup and then go on stage and present and hope nothing falls
24:21apart and so it's it's a stressful day for everybody no I destroyed my dress on the glue gun yesterday I'm
24:29gonna I need it what I ended up doing was very carefully cutting out a very small patch of plastic and
24:38luckily it sort of all just disappeared into the shiny plastic of the dress we need hair and makeup let's go
24:46I would like to have like two little braids on each side and down or a polish round and then down so
24:58look I like that welcome to the L'Oreal Paris makeup room it's all about the lip like to emphasize on her
25:05sort of cheekbones one minute I'd like to do a little like red eyeshadow just young baby doll fresh oh
25:12oh I love it we got 10 minutes to the runway where are my safety pins let me get the bracelet because
25:22I really want to see how it looks together all right guys let's go to runway coming up on project runway
25:31all-stars we've got a few too many ideas that's faithful you kind of you know made them your bitch I
25:37would never be seen dead in it give back thank you
25:47wow
25:50hi designers welcome to your first runway thank you we have 13 all-star designers here and after tonight
25:59we'll only be 12 as it's been said on project runway one day you're in and the next day you're out and
26:08that's never been more true than on all-stars for your first challenges all-stars we're used to big
26:15budgets we wanted to see how you would cope with items from a 99 cent store do you feel like we threw
26:21you in the deep end the deep end so let's meet the judges first we have the designer and co-founder
26:28of Marquesa the beautiful Georgina Chapman hi designers and one of the most famous names in
26:35fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi and our guest judge this week is somebody professionally invested in your
26:42success he is the senior vice president and fashion director of Neiman Marcus the fabulous Ken Downey have
26:52a great show
26:59so luckily the judges did not notice the patch my dress has a sort of flowing movement in the skirt
27:06this sort of diaphanous layered effect and on the runway it's just all sort of blurred into a shimmer
27:12of beauty I think in the unconventional challenge when my models walking down the runway she's looking
27:22chic she's looking sharp she's looking like she bought the clothes off the rack exactly like I expected
27:29her to look I think my model looks amazing the fact that I was able to pull that
27:36out of the 99 cent store from cheap ass handkerchiefs fantastic watching my outfit walk down the runway is
27:48the same sort of enchanted humbling process that has happened probably every time something comes to life
27:56if you're really really lucky this time it's even a little bit more special because I really swore that I
28:03would make high art this is so funny as I see my model walk down the runway I think that bitch is owning
28:10it she looks amazing she looks rich she looks fierce she's a diva she's got her glasses on her back her
28:18jacket her skirt and nobody can with her
28:26my dress looks colorful yet tough I'm pretty excited because I love my dress and I feel like it it's me
28:33I love seeing my work come to life that moment when the model walks down the runway it reminds me of my
28:426th birthday Christmas it's just pure joy when I see my model wearing my work
28:48I think that it's a really good gown to represent what I do to represent how I've grown as a designer
28:59I think she looks really beautiful in it
29:01I think it's exactly me it's a little bit edgy but it has the flowing and feminine feeling to it
29:10I love my design because I feel it's a little bit different than anybody else's but you never know
29:17with judges it could be hit or miss I think to myself please don't let any of the tissue rip and
29:29Lord please don't let one of those gold safety pins fall I do with this dress what I've been doing
29:36my whole life taking a whole little of nothing and turn into a whole lot of something I see my
29:41model working it down the runway in my look and I think it looks great I thought she looked absolutely
29:51awesome I'm hoping that those mop strings don't pop because some of them are glued together but she
29:56looks beautiful I want to go somewhere with her and get a drink and spill something on her dress and
30:01watch her soak it up I think the design is avant-garde I think it's different it's got texture it's long I
30:12was so nervous seeing April's dress come down the runway because it was shockingly gorgeous they're
30:17gonna say well Michael April use the mops way better than you did hey designers if I call your name
30:25please step forward Austin Mila April Anthony Cara Kenley Michael congratulations you are all safe
30:41your designs will keep you in the competition and you may leave the runway goodbye thank you you all
30:52have the highest and the lowest scoring designs one of you will be named this week's winner and one of
30:58you will be going home let's bring out your models so Rami your first Rami I really felt you've given a
31:09great silhouette here what have you made that out of laundry bags so I use that as the tweed almost I
31:17wanted to resemble that the tinsel from Christmas decorations to emulate the ostrich feathers and here
31:24I use the umbrella lining to sort of create that tie in the blacks all together I think you have an
31:30edge over the other designers in terms of execution you mastered all of these elements you kind of you
31:35know made them your your bitch you could photograph this you could put it in an editorial in a magazine and
31:43no one would have any idea that those are umbrella parts and and something that came out of a 99 cent story
31:48that's a huge compliment thank you so much it looks like a woman that's walked off the Paris runway
31:53so job well done sweet pea can you tell us a little bit about your dress I really have been feeling
31:59color and I do like mixing the hard and the soft kind of the sweet feminine with a little touch of
32:06edginess I don't know how resolved this is it looks a little ragged to me it looks a little unfinished you
32:12know it's especially unresolved in the back there yeah that's really that's really I like a cutout I do
32:19but for some reason that just looks like a chew out not a cut out women never come to me and ask for
32:25something that's going to make them look bigger than they already are you're gonna go with something
32:30graphic colorful and color blocking like that it does have to be very precise what made you choose
32:36the washcloths as your fabric I would never own or wear a terrycloth dress but it was the color that stood
32:43out to me thank you sweet pea moving on to Jor-El Georgina what are your thoughts on Jor-El's dress
32:49it moved really beautifully I thought this was a very wearable look I can imagine a girl wearing
32:55this and I think that's a very difficult thing to achieve from a 99 cent store thank you I like the
33:00color of it a lot I like that it's an alternative to neutral I love that you really have taken the idea
33:06of this trend of the moment of the high-low hemline and really exploited it in a great way thank you so
33:10much Cheryl we're gonna move on now to Elisa personally this isn't a look that I immediately
33:17respond to but I want to know more about your use of writing I do a lot with sacred geometry so there
33:23was a lot of like it's half of 360 it's 180 degrees so I wanted to try to keep the whole circle half
33:30thing going so you don't have to know this story but if you read the story on this sleeve you read it
33:35on that sleeve it's a good story if you read it all together you know the whole story I love the
33:39spirit of this it looks like you it looks like someone really passionate did it I love clothes
33:44to tell me the story the minute they hit the runway because as soon as clothes have directions they stay
33:49on the rack so Mondo can you tell us a little bit about your 99 cent unconventional dress what I used
33:55to create this look were binders electrical tape these old black cowboy hats and trash bags considering
34:04it's a black dress it's a fun dress it's not that serious which I think is nice I think the dress is
34:10flawlessly executed and I think it's truly your spirit I'd love to see this dress in shall we say
34:15a real fabric that didn't need to be hosed down in the backyard after wearing it you have such a great
34:21sense of proportion that's what makes the dress is the proportion right it's a snappy the whole thing thank
34:27thank you Mondo so Giordana can you tell us about your dress I was looking for something that had the
34:34hard and soft shapes and this is the thing that you use to scrub pots and pans my favorite thing is the
34:41steel wool the texture looks so divine on the runway I do question whether you've got a few too many ideas
34:47going on and you too many elements and perhaps you could probably spread those ideas out throughout a
34:53collection I work so fast and then I'm like done in two three hours and then I over design that's
35:01fatal yeah I know thank you Jordan we're now going to deliberate and we'll call you back shortly you may
35:09leave the runway how about our favorite looks why don't we start there I think Rami had the balance he
35:16used suction unconventional fabric yet he pulled it off in such a chic way it was well executed I think Rami
35:22did an amazing job the use of fabric what he found in the 99 cent store that when translated into a
35:28fashion moment didn't look like a 99 cent store translation the only thing for me was that the
35:35dress from yesterday and the dress from today looked so similar I just don't want him to keep
35:39doing the same thing did he just refabricate his yesterday's dress I feel like he went outside of the
35:44box but it looks like it could be the same collection let's talk a little bit about Mondo he's a very
35:49talented young man the fascinator was probably one of my favorite parts gave interest to the dress
35:55which could have been just the black dress was a beautiful black dress that had a modern edge so
36:00let's talk about Jor-El I think his tribal element was beautiful Jor-El made a very understandable dress
36:05and I think we all know that but did he try and push boundaries that I'm not so sure about did he push the
36:11boundaries with some unusual paper plate or something out of the 99 cent store no but the
36:17execution certainly gave him an upper hand let's move on to sweet pea I think here is a dress that's
36:23not so well executed out of a fabric the dresses are made out of it's just off it needed to be more
36:29purposefully irregular it just kind of wandered down the middle of the road the dress was like
36:34what happened don't know exactly whether it's eccentric or just a mistake yeah it seems like
36:40somebody who doesn't know how to put a look together right it really does I would never be
36:44seen dead in it oh no can we move on to Jordana and the party streamers I think the use of streamers
36:51was smart because it moved when you walk down the wrong way I think the one thing that Jordana has to
36:56learn is when to stop and even when she has a little extra time then use it to her advantage so then it brings me
37:03to Elisa and just in terms of where I've been on the runway and the designers I've worked with I
37:08don't know if she's up to par it was actually a very entertaining moment to me you can't stand at
37:13the end of the runway and explain your look for half an hour for people to begin to understand it you
37:18need to feel it okay so are we all agreed well designers what a great way to start our all-star
37:27season one of you will be named this week's winner and one of you will be going home one
37:38of you will be named this week's winner and one of you will be going home
37:42Jarell you are safe well done thank you you can leave the runway thank you guys
37:54Mondo Rami
37:59the two of you have the highest scores which means one of you is the winner of this challenge
38:08and that designer is Rami congratulations Rami thank you I really appreciate it we were really
38:20all hugely impressed by your design you may leave the runway thank you so much nice meeting I feel
38:28like this challenge proves a point that I'm capable of construction just as well as I'm capable of
38:33scraping so I'm very happy with the results I just feel relieved and I could take a breath and exhale
38:39and celebrate Mondo you also did an amazing job you may also leave the runway thank you being on the
38:48show last year really validated me as a designer and I know that I'm good enough and that I do deserve
38:55a chance hey girls thanks that alone makes me want to win the competition you think Sweet Pea's
39:04gonna help don't you I'm afraid I hope not Sweet Pea, Jordana, Elisa the three of you this week had the lowest scores and
39:16unfortunately one of you will be eliminated Jordana you are safe and we'll see more from
39:29you next week thank you so much you may leave the runway Sweet Pea and Elisa one of you will be in and one
39:41of you will be out Sweet Pea you have a lot of talent but you need to listen to your instincts and not
39:50second-guess yourself Elisa your designs really need to speak for themselves not be explained Sweet Pea
40:00you're in
40:09give me leap the runway
40:13which I'm sorry to say Elisa you're out thank you very much all of you have happy everydays thank you
40:24be blessed bye bye I'm completely satisfied with what I created yet I can still respect the fact
40:34that I was eliminated oh I'm so glad that you see Valentino's message said to me continue to be true
