00:00Hi there.
00:01There has been a breezy and wet start to Wednesday for many of us.
00:04It will turn drier and brighter in places but not everyone will experience the clearance
00:10of the rain because there's a lingering front which is really going to continue to bring
00:15wet weather in places during the next few days as it hangs around across initially the
00:19south of the UK and then increasingly further north as we go into Friday and the weekend.
00:26But it's northern parts of the UK that see the clearance of the weather fronts during
00:30the afternoon.
00:31The main occluded front moving into northeast Scotland bringing some persistent damp weather
00:36at the start of the afternoon and showers following here.
00:40Meanwhile the trailing portion of the front continues to bring cloud and outbreaks of rain
00:43to much of central and southern England as well as parts of Wales.
00:47The rain pepping up for a time across south Wales and there continues to be a yellow rain
00:51warning because of the risk of localised flooding following all the wet weather we've seen through
00:55September and further wet weather expected during the rest of Wednesday.
00:59It stays damp for many in the south but drier brighter weather is expected through this portion
01:05of the UK, Northern Ireland, much of central and southern Scotland, Northern England and
01:09North Wales.
01:10Just one or two light showers staying blustery in many places but the strongest winds will
01:14be across the northwest of Scotland.
01:15Risk of gales here in exposed locations along with frequent showers as the main band of rain
01:21moves into Orkney by the end of the afternoon.
01:24Feeling cool in the north of Scotland but elsewhere it's relatively mild and muggy.
01:28Temperatures getting up to 21 Celsius where we do get some brighter spells across parts
01:32of northeast Wales, northeast England for example.
01:36Then on Wednesday night we'll continue to see this trailing front bring a cloud and outbreaks
01:42of rain particularly across parts of Wales and the southwest.
01:45The Midlands, East Anglia, seeing a few spots of rain mostly dry for the southeast but
01:49a lot of cloud cover and a lot of low cloud towards the southwest.
01:53Clearer spells for Northern England, Northern Ireland, much of Scotland and a cooler night
01:57to come here albeit with that strong wind continuing.
02:00In fact the winds pick up further across the north and northwest of Scotland.
02:04Again the risk of gales in exposed spots with the showers becoming more prolonged in some
02:09of the most exposed areas of northwest Scotland.
02:13Those outbreaks of rain and the strong winds push into the Northern Isles during Thursday morning.
02:17It will be a bright start for the east and south of Scotland but cloud and rain from the trailing
02:22front pushes north into Northern Ireland, Southern Scotland, Northwest England and North Wales
02:27during the day.
02:29Leading to brighter skies once again across the south of the country but a lot of cloud.
02:34If we do get some brightness we've got this warm sector across the south, relatively mild
02:40and humid and temperatures getting up to summer-like valleys, 24 Celsius, perhaps 25 if there is
02:48enough sunshine for parts of East Anglia but it's more likely to stay cloudy with temperatures
02:52most likely peaking at 23 or 24 Celsius cooler for the north of Scotland obviously where we've
02:58got the stronger winds and those blustery showers.
03:02These fronts continue to slowly move north into central Scotland and Northern Ireland during
03:07Thursday night.
03:08Some heavier rain develops across Northern England, the Republic of Ireland as well but across
03:13much of England and Wales when it is drier with some clear spells and another mild night
03:18to come.
03:19Some very wet weather developing in places during Friday and the weekend but it's all down to
03:24the position of that trailing weather front which sticks around and that's going to oscillate
03:28across the UK.

03:31Bye bye.
