00:00fantasy football playoffs are almost here maybe you need a win this week to get in let's see if

00:04we can give you some help joe pisapia is with us he's got fantasy sports today of course sunday

00:08mornings here on sports grid and i'm here on fridays saturdays throughout the weekend too

00:12and he also of course has the fantasy black book i saw the baseball black book out already

00:17i mean almost oh okay i was like the ink is not even dry on the baseball season no no no the the

00:24fantasy black book is in process for baseball december 15th release that's what we do and we

00:29do updates obviously as things go on but uh just did the cover release shohei otani the cover boy

00:34this year which uh should surprise nobody he's he's pretty good at baseball craig mish he's pretty

00:38good yeah he definitely is but we're still in football mode here so let's continue uh last

00:43week of buys in the nfl a bad timing for a lot of people need a win to get in especially having

00:48christian mccaffrey who's been a superstar all season long the 49ers are off so are the giants

00:54the patriots and the panthers those are the four teams off this week so uh let's go through some

01:01of the winners and losers in fantasy joe and definitely i think very interesting to see

01:06if somebody picked up joe burrow off the waiver wire a couple of weeks ago because he's back with

01:11the bengals played of course very well on thanksgiving and through to jamar chase a bunch

01:15of times the bears look a lot like the lions of last year with those running backs both swift and

01:20manangai playing well and unfortunately amon ross st brown went down which is a big loss in fantasy

01:27but as a result of that uh somebody else stepped up for the lions in a big way yeah absolutely and

01:33i think you're looking at first joe burrow you know having that comeback game i think a lot of us

01:38were questioning well how good is he going to be he hasn't played football in many weeks well joe

01:42burrow you know never tell him no that's one thing you got to learn about joe burrow never tell him

01:46he can't he's got that tom brady streak in him which you got to love so obviously joe burrow

01:51fantastic back performance is going to get t higgins back this week playing buffalo this week that game

01:56already has a high total in the 50s i'm sure it's still going to go way over that regardless because

02:00neither of those teams play a lot of defense so i think that's a great thing for fantasy managers who

02:05held on in super flex leagues and waited like i have in a couple leagues where you're just

02:09waiting hoping he would play again this season before the playoffs and he did

02:12uh but uh obviously you know a great opportunity there really boost the value of jamar chase too

02:17which i think is super important you know you mentioned kyle monongai too that's another guy

02:21that i was very much in on going into the season a lot of the last draft picks that i would make in a

02:26lot of drafts would be kyle monongai and just trying to wait for him to emerge from that backfield

02:31because the one thing i know about deandre swift wherever he goes he's not the guy for touchdowns

02:35no matter what happens and i think that's something you always keep in mind too whatever he is that

02:38people just don't seem to love him around the goal line and i think monongai brings an edge here

02:42and as the weather gets colder in chicago and these games get more important here i think you're

02:47going to see a lot more kyle monongai here he's the more physical of the two running backs and he's

02:51looks spectacular so certainly joe burrow and uh certainly kyle monongai some big winners from

02:56this week in fantasy and i'll tell you what too uh jameson williams was that guy that really stepped up

03:01on thanksgiving day he had to i'm on ross st brown out i know it's going to be a big deal we'll talk

03:06about that on the waiver wire too how that affects people in that bubble of the playoffs as well

03:10or even into the playoffs but jamo responded in a big way so it's great to see how he showed up on

03:16thanksgiving unfortunately dan campbell's ability to manage situational football never shows up

03:21and the lions lost yeah it's been a tough tough go for the lions recently the bangles by the way

03:27mathematically alive for the playoffs if they win out they've got the bills this week that could end

03:32them but we'll see if it happens and then you know the road gets a little easier the ravens

03:36haven't been great the dolphins defense isn't so good neither are the cardinals and then they end

03:40the season with the cleveland browns remains to be seen but you know in fantasy most people don't

03:44play that last week of the season all right now let's go to the fantasy losers the minnesota vikings

03:50i mean you didn't think things could get any worse with jj mccarthy my gosh max brosmer was just

03:57awful and i guess they'll go back to mccarthy this week jackson smith and jigba had a tough game

04:03saquon barkley's had a tough season overall shouldn't be a surprise with all the usage that

04:07he got last week but i guess joe let's start off with the vikings here you know my son is playing

04:11for his first time ever in a competitive fantasy football league and uh you know he's got jefferson

04:17you know and i'm like i i don't have the answer for you like i don't i don't know what to do here

04:22i mean he was your first pick there's jokes on social media that you should cut jefferson now

04:29someone else picks him up and starts him against you this week i mean it has gotten that bad i mean

04:34i don't recall something like this happening joe in a really long time where the where the first pick

04:39the second or third or fifth pick in the draft is such a bust and he's healthy for the whole year i

04:46mean do we go back to moss being on on the raiders that's like the best i can give at this point i mean

04:52and then he went to new england and he was great again you know but what is going on here maybe

04:57justin jefferson will go new england next year and he'll be great again uh look it's it's not his

05:01fault i want to hug him like in the movie goodwill hunting and robin williams says to matt damon it's

05:05not your fault justin jefferson is not your fault okay it's just not the quarterback play has been

05:09absurdly bad this year now jj mccarthy will be an improvement over brosner because my god the bar

05:14was set so low but jefferson is one of those titanic players i call them which you're going down with

05:19the ship you're playing the violin he's your guy now if you get to a point where you have some really

05:24great wide receivers and you can afford a two wide receiver league to sit him because you've

05:28got a good flex play and two other wide receivers that are solid i get it at this point now it's

05:32about winning championships it's not about draft value but very depressing and i think the vikings

05:36are a lot of soul searching to do next year to figure out what they're going to do with that

05:40quarterback position who they're going to bring in and i i don't know if mccarthy is going to be

05:44the answer he'd have to be incredibly impressive these last few weeks i don't know if he's got it in

05:49him and then you mentioned jsn of all the times you know jsn has carried all these fancy teams

05:53i guess it's a good thing it happened this week instead of in week 15 when the playoffs go because

05:57you imagine right jsn carrying your team and then giving you a two points two points or something

06:03worse like it's just crazy right now for what jsn's week 13 looked like but obviously an anomaly

06:08obviously they just didn't need to do anything brosner was that bad and look you know at this stage in

06:14the game too with saquon barkley i spoke about it in the preseason on fst every week we have over 400

06:19carries in the season the next year doesn't go well there's also a video going around that i saw

06:23it's fascinating where barkley's kind of tipping a little bit you know how pitchers will tip their

06:28pitches barkley's in the backfield and he's moving his head back and forth every time it's a pass and

06:32every time it's a run he's looking straight ahead every play and this 19 year old kid did a tiktok

06:37about it and he showed all the plays and he did all the homework on it so if that 19 year old kid figured

06:41it out i'm pretty sure nfl coordinators have figured that out too going into the season yeah

06:45that's that's they gotta change that pretty i would i would guess you won't see that again starting

06:51this week uh let's go real quick to the waiver wire where uh you know the jets are outscoring

06:56the eagles right now so one of the hot names on the waiver wire is adonai mitchell he had 12 targets

07:03eight receptions 102 yards and a touchdown but we played this game with john mechie the week before

07:08both are pretty much available a lot of fantasy leagues like quorum is seemingly more a part of

07:13the rams offense he scored a touchdown this past week i i just don't love the options here

07:18i guess joe if i thought i needed a win this week and i saw the injury to tracy last night

07:24it would be devin singletary because he's going to be the only guy left with the giants but they're

07:28off this week so it can't really help you but to me that would be the guy like in if i was already

07:33in the playoffs i would unload on because again even i mean listen if he's not great with the

07:39giants i understand but joe he's going to get every goal line carry moving forward absolutely

07:43and singletary is still a league averaged or a little below league average back right like that's

07:48that's kind of always what he's been at some point uh so yes he's definitely a guy and i think because

07:52of the situation where you can't play him this week you might get him a little cheaper you might not

07:56have to empty the tank but if you want to be sure you do it blake quorum is another guy i think you

08:01absolutely have to have iron williams health is a little bit in question right now it seems like

08:04he's gonna play again this week but at the same time you saw blake quorum have a a year high 81

08:10yards right you know blake quorum can step into a great offense and be very good he can be a

08:15low-end rb1 high-end rb2 if something should happen jayden higgins still floating around the

08:19waiver wire like him as far as the jets guys go it's tough because you have john met you i think

08:25is more of that possession wide receiver so in full point ppr he gives you a lot of upside you know

08:29that 10 points just kind of steady 10 12 points and get out and with bye weeks this week you might

08:34need that ad mitchell's got that big playability but you know he's really athletic really speedy

08:38breakaway potential separation all that stuff but catching the football is a problem sometimes for

08:43mr mitchell so that is the problem there but taylor's made the most of those two guys the last

08:48couple weeks the jets have won some football games they've been more competitive one more name i want

08:51to throw out there too with kalief raymond not practicing yesterday and i'm on raw st brown i think

08:56unlikely to play thursday isaac tesla is a must add he has a lot of red zone appeal he's had some big

09:03plays and some big moments he's only a rookie but he is a really good young talent and he could help

09:08you this week as a streamer kennedy was was pretty good in that little bit that he got this past week

09:13too it is tough tough in detroit right now a lot of injuries all right joe have a good week and
