00:00This is the story on how I became a mom within 15 minutes. This is me the day before I gave birth.
00:05It started in my room where I was curled up in a ball and couldn't get off the toilet. I was having
00:10major bleeding and didn't know what to do. Once I called my mom upstairs, she told me that maybe
00:15it was just period cramps, but I thought that couldn't be possible because I had just ended
00:19my period two days before. So then we ended up at the hospital at the ER and I'm thinking my
00:24appendix is bursting and the ER doctor pushes on my stomach and he doesn't suspect anything.
00:29At first, doctors believed it was only a cyst, but soon the truth began to unravel.
00:34During the ultrasound, my mom then saw something familiar, which seems to be little feet.
00:39So then the doctor comes in, looks, and I am 10 centimeters dilated. I was then rushed up
00:43to labor and delivery. 15 minutes later, that baby entered this world. Within those 15 minutes,
00:49my life changed forever. After that, nothing was the same. And suddenly, everyone wanted
00:54to know one thing. This is me right before I got pregnant. And this is me in the middle
01:00of my pregnancy. Unbelievable. I know. I lost 30 pounds in size sound, two jean sizes. So
01:06I was the skinniest I've ever been. Let me tell you something else. I also had my period.
01:09And you could see where that would raise some questions for me. Well, it turns out it's a thing.
01:13And it's called a cryptic pregnancy. How do you find the words to tell your family
01:17your whole life just changed? So here's how I announced it to the world, aka Instagram. When I
01:23got home from the hospital, I posted this to my story. And let me tell you the amount of messages
01:28I got from this post was absurd. A day later, I then posted an official announcement on my Instagram
01:34feed. Everyone was still super confused because I really wasn't saying much. My sister was away at
01:40college, so she had no idea any of this was actually happening. And of course, it was like 5am. So
01:45she was sleeping. She wasn't answering her phone. So she actually found out hours after
01:50I gave birth. I literally just texted her. Hey, call me. You're an aunt. She also didn't
01:56meet her until she was like two or three weeks old again, because she was at college. She
02:00really did think I was pulling a prank on her. These are my aunts, my mom's sisters.
02:05What the hell?
02:06Okay.
02:07What?
02:08What?
02:09Don't make me laugh.
02:11Why is she in pain? Why is there a baby?
02:13And of course, my friends had to know right away.
02:14I literally told them over Snapchat, just imagine waking up in the morning and opening this. But
02:20hey, it's an iconic announcement and they won't forget it.
02:22Her story spread fast. Viewers everywhere wanted to know how she pulled through.
02:26People always ask how I was prepared for a baby. The answer is I was not at all. I am
02:31so grateful to have supportive parents. They ran up the bill at Bye Bye Baby in Macy's. I
02:38came home to a fully prepped house. They even turned our extra room into Maddie's
02:44very own bedroom. Another question people always ask me is how I'm doing mentally. I
02:49am so grateful that I did not suffer postpartum depression. I was honestly fine. Obviously,
02:55I was in shock, but I do think things happen for a reason.
02:58Was I on birth control? No, I was not on birth control. I've never been on birth control.
03:03I'm currently not on birth control. Did you drink? Obviously, I was in college when I got
03:07pregnant. So I was drinking. I was going out. But when I come home for the summer, my parents
03:11aren't big drinkers. I was working. The most I've had was like a glass of wine. I wasn't
03:16going out. I wasn't 21 yet. So I wasn't going to the bars. So just very little here and there.
03:20Another question I get asked all the time is, is her dad around? Did I know who he was?
03:25Yes, her dad is around and in her life fully. And I immediately knew who he was because he
03:31was the only person I slept with at college. How did my parents react? My parents were never
03:34mad and very supportive.
03:35She's loving every moment of motherhood and she's already ready to do it all over again.
03:40I wish I did have the cute little bump so I can wear like the tight little dresses with the bump
03:44and take pictures and be the cute girl with the bump. I would have a baby shower and I did have a
03:50baby shower once Maddie was born. My friends threw a huge baby shower for me and I am so thankful
03:55and it turned out great. But Maddie was there so we couldn't play any of like the typical baby
04:00shower games. So I will definitely be having a baby shower before my next baby is born. But I want
04:04another one already. I can't wait to have like the experiences of being pregnant.
