Happy Gnome Birthday

I am a bit late as I missed posting on the 19th--but here I am with my February At Home With Gnomes.  I am doing a monthly challenge for myself to use one of the many gnomes stamp or die sets that I have.  Each month I will create a card using one of my many gnome images and I plan to post on the 19th.

For my February card, I picked a fun Unity stamp set called Happy Gnome Birthday
.  And, the sentiments are perfect for a belated birthday, which I need t times...........  I picked my background paper first--a fun Carta Bella patterned paper called It's a Celebration!  I stamped the image and sentiments with my Hero Arts Intense Black ink.  I colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers and then die cut the image with a Gina Marie Designs Pierced Chain Rounded Rectangle.  I added the image and sentiments on my card, along with some enamel dots.   I think this is a fun card.

I know I have enough gnomes to use a different one each month.  I will be back on March 19th, hopefully on time, and will show you another gnome, so stay tuned!

Challenge Your Stash

Today as it is the 28th and the day I am posting my cards for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS. This is our 106th month of de-stash, so we are into our 8th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 8+ years old! I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group. Each person in the group creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces.

Jeanette posted our October challenge---Make a non-Halloween card. Use colors typically associated with Halloween (orange, black) on a card that is NOT a Halloween card.

I decided to do another type of fall card for Thanksgiving--I did not want to break the rules.  I picked an often used set for Thanksgiving cards for our sister church from Colorado Craft Company called Truly Thankful for the main sentiment image.  I die cut the sentiment and the black backer with a Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitched Rectangles set. The background panel is from a 6x6 Carta Bella pack called Americana.  The leaves are die cut from Tangerine Tango using the Stampin' Up Gorgeous Leaves die set. I added some black and white baker's twine behind the image and a few black matte enamel dots on the sentiment.

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards in the next few days. There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSOCT.  You might see many cards there if you do a search.  They probably will be posted today or in the next few days.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducers have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!  For November, Lorraine is up for our challenge.  Be sure to check back to see what we create then!

Birthday Giraffe

This is my card for a swap called the SIS--Surprise Image Swap.   This is card #19 for our group.  It is a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The surprise part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--the 18th of every other month.  This sweet image for this round was provided by Lori!  She will swap the cards and include the new image for round #20 that Jody will have stamped in each return envie. Then--we do it all again in April!

Lori sent us this cute giraffe image from the Simon Says Stamp set called Birthday Giraffe.  I picked my background patterned paper first--Carta Bella It's a Celebration Balloons.  I then colored the image with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I die cut the panel with a Gina Marie Designs Slash Stitched Rectangle Die and backed it with a Mossy Meadow layer.  The sentiment from the same set was sent by Lori too and I die cut it with a Taylored Expressions sentiment label die. This was a fun card to make!

If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations.  The due date is today, the 18th, or they may post in the upcoming days. You can also check out SCS and use the keyword SIS19 to see some posted there.  I hope everyone in the swap likes my card--and that you do too!

Haunted Bats

I was on a roll this week with using stencils, so I decided to make a Halloween card using Simon Hurley Lunar Paste in Shady.  The stencil is from Carta Bella called Haunted Bats. I love the shine from Lunar Paste and I think this stencil is so fun!  The witch is a very old wood mounted stamp from Stampabilities called Flying Witch--one of my oldies but goodies!  I added some Taylored Expressions Purple Glitter Drops around the image

Thanks for stopping by today!  This card will be in the mail soon, on the way to make someone smile!

Masculine Winter Birthday Card

Today is the day I am posting my card for our Challenge Your Stash group on SCS.  This is our 85th month of de-stash, so we are at the end of our 7th year of challenges.  I cannot believe my thought about using what we have is now 7 years old!   I really like these challenges and know they will continue as I know I have many, many items in my stash that I can use and love the fun challenges!  This is the first one for 2024 and we have themes set for all of the months.

Anna posted our January challenge--We have a number of January birthdays in my family, all men.  Make a winter birthday card for a man.

I picked a Stampin' Up set called Christmas Barn and it also has a set of coordinating dies called Barn. I stamped the barn with Taylored Expressions Mulled Wine and die cut the image.  I also die cut the fence from the same die set.  I picked a birthday sentiment from the Stampin' Up Hey Chuck set and stamped with Chocolate Truffle.  I then die cut the sentiment  and a backer with Taylored Expression Modern Sentiment Label dies. I added some twine behind the sentiment.   I added some clear Wink of Stella in the snow around the barn for some shine.  I then used Frosted Lace Stickles along the fence for some added snow.  The background paper is from Carta Bella Let it Snow-Pretty Pines.

Crafting is my Cardio!

Today is the 9th and it is now time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the Newton's Nook image that I sent out for our July card, #107! That means we are coming to the end of year number 7 with this fun challenge! All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month and we hope that it continues for a long time!

I sent Kelly and Jeanette a couple of the Newton's Crafty Cardio images, some die cut and some on a full panel.  There are also a number of smaller items in the set that I also die cut--scissors, pencil, washi tape, etc.   I also included a couple of the fun sentiments from the same stamp set.

I colored one die cut image with my Copic Sketch Markers. I also colored 4 of the small "embellishments".   I die cut an arch from a MFT Elegant Stitched Die out of Gray Granite.  I then popped up the image and add ons around the arch. The background is a very fun scissors pattern from the Carta Bella Craft & Create-Makers Plaid package.   I die cut the sentiment and the Gray Granite layer from The Paper Cut's Stitched Oval Dies.   I hope Jeanette and Kelly along with you enjoy my card!

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is the link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  Jeanette is up for our August challenge--please be sure to join us again.

Do Something Creative

Today is the 15th and that means the Dueling Darlings are back to post their fun cards!  This group was founded 10 years ago and there are a few of us that are the original members.  Kelly and Jeanette are still our team leaders and they try so hard to keep us all in line and going strong!  On team Kelly are Terry, Carol and me.  Team Jeanette consists of Lorraine, Darlene and Tracie.  And, we are all Dueling Darlings!

This month the kits were sent by Lorraine and me!  The theme is Crafting!  Yes, something each and every one of the members in the group LOVE!  All different types are crafting are enjoyed by our group--stamping, journaling, scrapbooking, sewing and quilting to name a few.  I sent out a kit with fun images from Taylored Expressions Do Something Creative Stamp and Die Set.  I stamped and die cut some of the images as well as many of the sentiments in the set.  There are many options for my team to choose from!  I also sent some crafty patterned paper from the Carta Bella Craft & Create line.  I included some ribbons and fun embellishments--more choices.............................

I colored the images I picked with my Copic Sketch Markers.  I decided to use a MFT Blueprints 27 die that makes a frame with 3 squares and a long rectangle. I used my Gina K Designs Master Layouts 2 to die cut one of the patterned papers along with a gray backer. I layered the yellow frame over the scissors crafty paper and used foam tape for some depth.  I then added some of the fun craft images in the stitched frame and a few on the frame too.  I punched out one of the sentiments and a backer from some older Stampin' Up punches.  The final touch was adding some clear enamel dots around some of the images.  This was fun card to make!

Here is the inside of my card, with the patterned paper and another one of the sentiments:

I hope all of the Dueling Darlings enjoy my card this month and our crafty theme!  Please be sure to stop in to see what fun crafty cards are posted,    All of the blogs can be found on my left sidebar.  Our teammate and my partner Lorraine does not have a blogs, so please check out her card in her SCS gallery.   I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!   September has Terry and Darlene up as hostesses, so be sure to check back on the 15th to see all of our creations.

Tracie's Kit-Card #2

I am back again to share more of the winter cards that I have made with the fun card kits I received in January.  I was so excited to be the recipient of these snowy themed card kits in a swap that I am hosting on SCS.  I received 10 kits and I plan to make 2 cards from each kit.  That was my idea in 2018 and I succeeded--and I am pretty sure that I can do it again!   So--stay tuned as I will be making the wintry cards and posting all of them soon!

This is card kit #2, from Tracie and this is my second card from this cute kit.  She sent some sweet images from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set from Taylored Expressions. The set has some fun snowy images and great holiday sentiments.  She also included some fun patterned paper by Carta Bella along with many, many fun embellishments. I was able to make 2 cards and I posted the first card yesterday-check back if you want to check it out.

Be sure to check back to see the rest of my creations from this fun card kit swap in the next few weeks!

I colored the cute snowy image with my Copic Sketch Markers and layered it with Pretty Peacock and Bermuda Bay.  I picked one of the sweet sentiments from the same set for this card.  The embellishment is a piece of Bermuda Bay Shimmer ribbon with a silver snowflake charm.

Here is the inside of my card:

Thanks for a great kit Tracie--these were two fun cards to make!
