00:00So, yes, Ms. Williams, it is a deliberate act of sabotage by those who are not interested
00:08in having two carnivals.
00:10Mr. Morris said it appears to be a deliberate act to kill Tobago's national carnival.
00:16He spoke during the minorities' media briefing in Scarborough.
00:20It is a clear deliberate action to force people by watering it down for you to come to the
00:26natural conclusion that well, we perhaps shouldn't have it.
00:29They want to kill the carnival because they are not about unity, they are not about nationality.
00:37And nothing is wrong with us being, having a Tobago-centric view because I would have
00:42advocated for a Tobago alternative carnival and we now have it, but we can have both.
00:49Morris said Culture Secretary Tashia Boris was absent from Tobago's carnival and does
00:55not deserve the position she holds.
00:57But the secretary who should be on the ground giving support was nowhere to be found and
01:04I am saying if any secretary would abdicate their duty like that, that secretary does
01:09not deserve their position.
01:11According to Assistant Secretary Culture Niall George, $5.8 million was allocated for Tobago's
01:18national carnival.
