00:00Hello, good afternoon.
00:02You may be hoping for some rain in the week ahead just to water your garden.
00:05If that's the case, you're likely to be very disappointed because high pressure is going
00:08to dominate through most of the week ahead and for the vast majority of the UK.
00:13There will be a few weather fronts at times in the southwest and the far south, but they're
00:16likely to just bring a few hit and miss showers and high pressure is likely to bring generally
00:20dry conditions for all of us.
00:22But back to Sunday afternoon and it's blue skies and sunny conditions for the vast majority
00:27of the UK and it's going to be feeling very warm in that sunshine as well.
00:31Still quite breezy in the far southwest of England, here gusts of 30, perhaps even 40
00:34miles per hour very, very locally, but generally light winds and feeling very pleasant indeed
00:39in that strong sunshine.
00:40You'll notice some of these North Sea coastal regions though here, it's going to be quite
00:44a bit cooler and cloudier, so fairly grey skies here and temperatures a little bit suppressed,
00:48perhaps no better than 19 to 21 degrees Celsius, so certainly feeling fairly cool for some of
00:54us, but otherwise temperatures into the mid-20s degrees, perhaps as high as 27 or even locally
00:5928 degrees, so feeling very warm indeed.
01:03As we go into this evening then, that cloud across North Sea coastal regions will tend to
01:06drift its way gradually westwards as we go through the evening and overnight hours, so central
01:12and some even western parts of the UK will turn fairly cloudy.
01:15That cloud thick enough to give just the odd spot or two of light rain and drizzle perhaps
01:19in places as well, so turning a little bit damp here and there.
01:23Further west though, particularly western Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of south-west England,
01:27well here we'd like to hold on to clearer conditions and perhaps a little bit cooler in
01:32the countryside.
01:33Overall though, that cloud will act like a blanket, so temperatures are milder than last
01:37night, so really not dropping much below 14 or 15 degrees Celsius in most of the towns
01:42and cities.
01:44So Monday is likely to start on a much cloudier note for many of us compared to on Sunday.
01:49That cloud still perhaps bringing the odd spitting spot of drizzle or light rain in the air, particularly
01:54across the Midlands and parts of north-east England, and here it's going to be particularly
01:57stubborn, that cloud too clear, so I am expecting it to stay fairly cloudy for most of the day
02:02in those regions.
02:04Otherwise, the sunshine tending to break through gradually, particularly in southern and eastern
02:08parts of England.
02:10The best of the sunshine perhaps though for more central or western parts of Scotland on
02:13Monday and parts of Northern Ireland, and here we'd like to see temperatures perhaps into
02:18the mid-twenties, 25 or 26 degrees in a few spots.
02:23Down across the south-west, not quite as breezy as it has been over the weekend, but here we'd
02:26like to see a chance at least of some scattered showers breaking out, and potentially even the
02:31odd thundery shower in places too.
02:34Now, those showers through Monday afternoon and Monday evening will start to drift their way
02:38a little bit further northwards, so parts of Pembrokeshire could see the odd shower too.
02:42But most places will end the day on Monday dry, and some places will stay fairly sunny as well.
02:49Now if you're wanting to know what's going to happen for the rest of the week ahead and
02:51whether there is going to be any showers or rain in the south on Tuesday, then do make
02:55sure you're following us on our social media channels.
02:57But that's everything from me, and I'll see you again very soon.
