I'm not sure what exactly you mean. I guess you mean changes in released
version.
It is not destructive change, but a simple addition. Simple addition/fix
may merged to
released version on occasion depending on its needs.

This one is preferred for better compatibility, so it may be included
released version.
However, create_sid() is not documented. We may only implement createSid()
in 5.6 and
document new API only as a 5.6 new feature.
