The top AI users will think about how it can improve their entire workflow, even with its imperfections, and move away from doing everything from scratch to INSTEAD being a creative process manager, critical thinker, and reviewer. At first, when I heard about others using Custom GPTs, I thought: "This must require coding skills I don’t have." Turns out, it didn’t. Once I realized how simple it was to create, optimize, and use a Custom GPT, it completely streamlined my workflow. Here’s my 5-step process for how I built a Custom GPT to automate video descriptions for my social media content: 1️⃣ Identify the repetitive task. For me, it was writing video descriptions — I was constantly using ChatGPT for this. 2️⃣ Write clear instructions. I detailed exactly how I wanted my GPT to generate these descriptions. 3️⃣ Create the Custom GPT. I copied my instructions into the “Instructions” field of a new Custom GPT. 4️⃣ Started using it. I stopped using general ChatGPT and relied on my Custom GPT for these specific tasks. Because everything was written in my instructions, I didn’t have to go through the routine back and forth to explain what I needed. 5️⃣ Refine & optimize. I tweaked the instructions over time for better results. The best part? I was worried that my Custom GPT wouldn’t be good enough for others to use.
