State of the product job market: 1. There’s indeed a shift to hiring more senior PMs 2. Remote PM jobs are shrinking fast (down 35% from peak, and still shrinking) 3. More than one in five open PM roles is based in the San Francisco Bay Area (and still growing) 4. Bengaluru, India, is now the most popular location outside the U.S. for PM roles 5. The three most common hard skills that hiring managers are looking for from PMs are SQL, Jira, and experience with LLMs 6. The fastest-shrinking roles right now are diversity and scrum masters 7. Machine-learning engineers and data engineers are the most in-demand tech functions right now This analysis is based on exclusive data from two companies that I’m partnering with: 1. TrueUp, which tracks new job openings across all tech companies globally 2. Live Data Technologies, which tracks job changes (hires, departures, and promotions) across all companies in the U.S. Combining these two data sources reveals a whole new perspective on what’s really happening in the job market. Loads more surprises and insights in the full post: https://lnkd.in/gjArRAXm I’m going to continue tracking job market data and sharing regular updates on what’s changing in the product hiring market every few months or so. DevOps in 2025: Winning Skills and Real Trends Two years ago, DevOps was a high-demand field. In 2025, it’s the backbone of every digital transformation—supercharged by cloud, automation, and now, AI. Here's what caught my attention 👇 📈 DevOps market is projected to expand from $13.2 billion in 2024 to an impressive $81.1 billion by 2028 📈 From specialized approach to mainstream strategy: Its adoption soared from 33% of companies in 2017 to an estimated 80% in 2024. Let me break down what's really happening out there and how you can ride this wave—whether you're just starting or gunning for that architect role. 📊 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀? Based on aggregated data from 2024-2025 DevOps job postings, here’s the tech that consistently tops job requirements: 1 - Terraform 88% (+9%) 2 - Python 80% (+8%) 3 - Kubernetes 76% (+6%) 4 - AWS 72% (–3%) 5 - Jenkins 74% (+6%) 6 - Docker 68% (+3%) 7 - Azure 60% (+6%) 8 - Git/GitHub 60% (+2%) .... 19 - Golang 18% (+13%) The pattern is clear: Infrastructure as Code is king, container orchestration is everywhere, and you better know your way around multiple clouds. Golang is the surprise breakout. 🌐 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 ↳ Cloud-native expertise is “non-negotiable”: 83% of organizations now use multi-cloud approaches. If you can juggle AWS, Azure, AND Kubernetes? You're golden. ↳ Architects and senior engineers who bridge DevOps, cloud, and AI lead the next evolution. These are the people building scalable, secure, AI-ready infrastructure—roles that are multiplying fast. ↳ Platform engineering is having a moment: Everyone wants internal platforms that make their developers' lives easier. 🤖 𝗔𝗜 𝗜𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀 (𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿) ✅ AI/ML is making DevOps smarter—think smart incident response, predictive analytics, and self-healing infrastructure that fixes itself. ⚙️ But success still comes down to knowing your foundations: DevOps, cloud architecture, and scripting. 🚦 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘁𝗵, 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 - Get dangerous with 2 automation tools (Terraform + K8s is the combo right now) - Go deep with AWS or Azure, but stay curious about the others - Python is your Swiss Army knife—learn it, love it - Don't sleep on AI tools, but master your CI/CD and container game first 🎯 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗽? We’ve compiled all the proven insights—plus actual salary data, skills breakdowns, and stepwise growth plans—into the latest DevOps Career Guide. 📌 Grab it here: https://bit.ly/44TevO0 💬 What are you seeing in your corner of the DevOps world? I’ve worked for Meta and now Salesforce. I have interviewed with Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest so I know how competitive it can be. Here’s what they don’t tell you about landing a role at these #companies:  1. Your resumé gets 6 seconds of attention. #Recruiters skim quickly. If your key achievements aren’t visible at first glance, you’re out.  ✔️Quantify your results.  ✔️Use action verbs.  ✔️Keep it clean, clear, and concise.  2. #Networking > applying blindly. Most hires come through referrals. I landed #interviews at top companies by:   ✔️Attending events ✔️Connecting with hiring managers ✔️Reaching out to people in roles I wanted Focus on relationships, not just applications.  3. Interviews are more than just technical skills. Yes, you need to know your stuff. But what really sets you apart?  ✔️Your ability to collaborate  ✔️How you handle feedback  ✔️How well you understand the company’s challenges  4. Follow up (but don’t stalk). Sent your application? Had an interview? Follow up ✔️ A thoughtful, polite message keeps you top of mind—just don’t overdo it. Tech hiring is competitive, but if you play smart, you increase your chances dramatically.  I’ve done it, and so can you. If you’re applying to top tech roles, what’s been your biggest challenge so far? Drop it in the comments—I’d love to help! #Techcareer #Techlife #Meta #Salesforce #Linkedin #Google #TikTok #Pinterest

Learn AI Together - I explain practical AI, real workflows, and where AI is actually going.

Funny... but how true is it? The challenge lies not only in AI's coding capabilities but also in understanding project scope. Typically, only 20-40% of a website's functionality is visible, like UI elements and front-end features - the part we usually describe when we envision our ideal website. The remaining 60% or more is hidden under the surface, including database management, server-side logic, API integrations, etc. A big part of a programmer's job is helping clients understand these hidden parts and identifying their specific needs. Currently, AI tools have gotten pretty good at creating simple websites, landing pages, and custom templates. They also boost productivity in code documentation (50% time savings), generation, and refactoring. However, for complex tasks, AI saves less than 10% of the time spent (McKinsey report). I'm very optimistic about AI's development, particularly generative AI. We're just beginning to tap into its potential. Will it shift the programmer's role? Absolutely. But perhaps not in the way you might think. In fact, AI progress will likely make software engineers even more valuable - more skills will be required. It will require programmers to understand all the complexities of building software and leveraging AI to boost their productivity. They'll likely spend less time writing code and more time monitoring and managing AI outputs, ensuring high quality and continuous improvement – shifting to a more managerial role. __________________ I share my learning journey here. I learned this week that McKinsey & Company pays tens of thousands of dollars to the best technical experts and industry operators to show up at high-stakes client pitches and win work. $20,000, even $30,000 per hour, isn’t unusual. They’ve turned sending the right people to the right meetings into an art form. Credibility is the strategy. The reality is, the traditional Consulting profile no longer cuts it. Clients are too sophisticated, they can smell the BS from a mile away. The days of polished consultants reciting frameworks and buzzwords are over. Ask a few specific operational questions, and many crumble. Clients want to hear from people who have actually led transformations, failed, fixed it, and built something that works. Across every major Consulting firm we work with, the hiring pattern is clear: blended teams. Technical depth and lived experience now matter more than polish and pedigree. Firms are scouring the market for people who are truly tech-savvy and who’ve sat in the client’s seat, people who understand how messy, political, and hard execution really is. They’ll pay a premium for that. Teams full of lifetime MBAs and consultants will die fast. There’s a lost generation being replaced by AI on one side and real operators on the other: grizzled execs and geeks who can ship product, code, or strategy that actually lands. The future belongs to those who can bridge both worlds: analytical precision and operational scars. Everyone else will be replaced by algorithms, or ignored by clients.

AI in the public sector isn’t a pilot anymore. It’s running in the real world. Check out my conversation from NVIDIA GTC in Washington with Robin Braun, VP AI Business Development, Hybrid Cloud at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Russell Forrest, Town Manager of Town of Vail. This one is important because it’s about AI for cities, not just AI for big tech. I had a blast interviewing both Robin and Russell. We talked about how HPE is using AI to tackle real problems every city deals with: traffic, safety, and energy efficiency. Robin walked through how you build a smarter, more connected city by turning live data into decisions that actually help people on the ground. Russell brought the city view from Vail. He explained what it takes to move from “we’re testing AI” to “we’re using this in operations.” We got into risk, cost, and how you deploy without adding complexity or slowing down public services. We also discussed agentic AI. Not as a buzzword, but as something that can help a town react in real time while still keeping humans in control. Better safety. Better visitor experience. Better use of resources. Same team. This is AI as public service infrastructure. Full interview is now live on LinkedIn and YouTube. #data #ai #nvidiagtc #nvidia #hammerspace #gpu #storage #theravitshow

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞..." That’s what they told me, too. When I transitioned from taxation to Investment Banking, mergers & acquisitions, I heard it all— ❌ “You don’t have the right background.” ❌ “It’s too late to switch now.” ❌ “Start from scratch or stay where you are.” But I refused to let a job title define my future. Instead, I focused on what I did have: Analytical skills, Financial acumen, and the ability to solve complex problems. I learned, I networked, and I proved my worth. Your “irrelevant” experience is actually your secret weapon. Most people think: ❌ “I need to hide my background in marketing now that I’m going into tech.” Smart people think: ✅ “My marketing background gives me a unique edge in tech because I understand user psychology in ways pure technical people never will.” Remember, career transitions aren’t about starting over. They’re about repositioning yourself. If you're looking to make a switch, here’s how to do it without wasting years: 1️⃣ Leverage Transferable Skills – Your past experience holds value. Learn to reframe it. 2️⃣ Start creating before you apply – Proof of work speaks louder than any resume. 3️⃣ Network with Intent – The right conversations open doors faster than cold applications. 4️⃣ Position your experience strategically – A compelling story beats a perfect background. 5️⃣ Upskill smartly – Learn what actually matters for your new role. I know how tough it can be because I’ve been there. But I also know that making a career pivot is possible—without starting from scratch. If you’re looking to transition careers and don’t know where to start, let’s talk. I’d love to help. Drop a comment or DM me. Your past doesn’t define your future. You do. You applied to 100+ jobs but no interviews? Here's what's actually happening. Your experience is valuable. You're just invisible. Let me explain why, and how to fix it. When you apply online, your resume goes into a database called an ATS (Applicant Tracking System). Think of it like a massive filing cabinet. Now here's the key: Some recruiters don't read every resume. They search. Just like you search Google, they search their database: "Python AND data analysis" "SAFe AND agile transformation" "Tableau AND dashboard" If your resume doesn't have their exact search terms, you’re making it harder to get discovered. You're not rejected. You're just not found. But here's the secret: The job description often tells you EXACTLY what keywords they'll search for. It's like having the answer key. Example from a real job posting: If they say "Experience with Snowflake required"... → They'll search "Snowflake" → Make sure you write "Built data warehouse in Snowflake…" Not "cloud database" or "modern data platform." Use their exact words: Snowflake. I've mapped out 80 keywords that get candidates noticed in 2025: Top searches happening right now: • Python, TensorFlow, LangChain (AI roles) • Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker (tech leadership) • Power BI, Tableau, SQL (data leadership) • SAFe, Agile, DevOps (transformation roles) Your action plan: 1. Read the job description carefully 2. Circle every tool, platform, or methodology mentioned 3. Add those EXACT terms to your resume (if you have that experience) 4. Use them naturally in your accomplishments Example: Instead of: "Led team through digital modernization" You say: "Led SAFe agile transformation using ServiceNow and Jira, reducing delivery time by 40%" You have the experience. Now make it searchable. Your next role isn't rejecting you. It just hasn't found you yet. You’ve got this! 💡 Save this cheat sheet of 80 searchable keywords ♻️ Share to help someone in your network Follow me for more insider recruiting insights

CIOs are leading a transformation focused on strategic, long-term value rather than just adopting the latest tech. 🌍 Lenovo’s Global CIO Study shows 96% of CIOs plan to boost tech investments, focusing on AI and security. From my conversations, it’s clear they’re also thinking about sustainability and future-proofing in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. 💡 However, 61% of CIOs face challenges in proving ROI from these investments, highlighting the need to not only innovate but to deliver measurable outcomes. Here are four strategies to tackle this challenge: 1️⃣ Align Tech Investments with Business Goals Tie each technology decision directly to business outcomes. Whether it’s enhancing customer experience, increasing revenue, or improving operational efficiency, measurable goals make the case for ROI clearer. 2️⃣ Build Cross-functional Alignment Involve key business leaders in the early stages of technology planning. Demonstrating how investments benefit various departments, from marketing to operations, builds stronger support for technology initiatives and ensures alignment with broader company objectives. 3️⃣ Prioritize Long-term Value Creation While short-term wins are important, CIOs must invest in technology that continues to deliver value over time. AI, for instance, plays a pivotal role in future-proofing organizations in a rapidly changing digital landscape. 4️⃣ Leverage Sustainability and Future-of-Work Strategies New growth areas, like sustainability and adapting to the future of work, are top-of-mind for CIOs. AI is central to addressing these trends, from optimizing energy use to enabling more productive environments - key factors in demonstrating ROI over the long term. For me, leading through this transformation isn’t just about adopting AI or new tools. It’s about building a roadmap that is thoughtful and strategic, building a solid foundation today for tomorrow’s growth. How are you navigating your business’s tech transformation to demonstrate ROI? I’d love to hear your insights on the challenges and opportunities. 🤝 #WeAreLenovo #TechTransformation #AI
