I look forward to a quick vote on whether to include it in PHP 5.7 or PHP 6.0.
I do not think it is worth the effort to try it for 5.7. I have to say it is hard to understand how you can think about 5.7 as well. Or are the changes not so big? Jokes apart, given the results 6 will be the target. That follows the arguments against this RFC and we seriously hope that everyone will participate earlier and will not bring the same arguments. 1. There is no "effort", it would just be a voting option. 2. Some people may not want to wait for PHP 6 so they should be allowed to vote for PHP 5.7 if they consider the BC issues surmountable in a minor release. 3. If a PHP 6 schedule doesn't finalize soon, then merging the 64-bit changes to PHP 5.7 may be the only way forward. -- [email protected] http://twitter.com/ghrd Free PHP & Oracle book: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/php/underground-php-oracle-manual-098250.html
