It certainly helps PHP’s popularity. On Debian, sudo apt-get install
libapache2-mod-php5 is all you need to do to get PHP functioning on Apache, with no
configuration required whatsoever. It may not be the best way to use PHP, but it’s certainly the
simplest for new users.
