This is something I’m curious about. While I’d be surprised if the vast majority of servers in use lacked 64-bit CPUs, I can’t seem to find any statistics on this. Does anyone have any?
While server installations are more than likely to be 64bit, there are still a number of situations where 32bit may be more practical and running 'local' copies of php in parallel with central servers is something I'm normally doing ... on 32bit processors. Which is why I'd like to avoid ph doing different things with the same code on these different platforms. Of cause the next improvement is using 128bit processing :) -- Lester Caine - G8HFL ----------------------------- Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk Rainbow Digital Media - http://rainbowdigitalmedia.co.uk
