I create 247 pieces of content per month. Time spent? 7 hours. Most founders stare at blank screens for hours. They overthink, delete drafts, and convince themselves they're "not interesting enough." Here are 6 tips to generate endless content ideas: 1. Stop Waiting for Inspiration Content isn't about being on camera or feeling creative. It's about documenting what you're already doing, thinking, and learning every single day. 2. The Content GPS Framework Every week follows five buckets: Monday - mistakes I made, Tuesday - systems that work, Wednesday - client transformations, Thursday - contrarian truths, Friday - vision for the future. 3. The 30-in-30 Exercise Spend 30 minutes writing: 10 things that frustrate you, 10 lessons you've learned, 10 transformations you've witnessed. That's your content calendar. 4. Mine Your Past Self Last week at 2am in London, I asked myself one question: "What do I wish I knew 5 years ago?" Wrote 73 ideas in my journal without stopping. 5. Your Struggles Beat Their Quotes 20-somethings share motivational quotes. Real founders share scars. Your authentic experience will always beat polished perfection. 6. Your Life IS Content Every decision you make, every system you build, every mistake you survive, it's all material waiting to be shared with people who need it. The difference between struggling and thriving with content? Systems beat motivation every time. I don't create content because I'm inspired. I create it because I have a framework that turns my real experiences into value for others. That's the power of building in public, transparency becomes your competitive advantage. Start documenting your journey today. Someone needs to hear exactly what you learned yesterday. __ Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Matt Gray for more. We need to kill content marketing... in order to save it. I've long talked about how bad B2B content is. It's why I co-founded storyarb. People want proof, so I've broken down what EXACTLY makes it bad today & what content marketing reincarnated must look like. B2B content today: 1) It’s selfish. - It optimizes for a lead's revenue potential vs. solving their biggest career questions & challenges. 2) It lacks originality.  - SEO content. Lead magnet. Webinar. Booth at trade show. Repeat. No content channel is inherently bad. And being unoriginal is okay, sometimes. But if status quo gets in the way of delivering the best experience for your audience, then it’s time to switch things up. 3) It doesn’t pop.  - Great content pops. It stands for something. It has a clear voice that feels resonant to its audience. It has diversity in flow & aesthetic to keep the audience engaged. 4) It’s a one-trick pony.  - Same formats - No creative risk-taking 5) It sells its soul to attribution.  - The greatest enemy to tomorrow’s customer acquisition is religious obsession with it today. Data is a valuable tool. But like any tool, it has a time and a place. Top-of-funnel content is essential to build trust with your ICP & help them along the customer journey, but if you’re a slave to attribution, you’ll never invest in this type of content. B2B content in the future: 1) Content is the product. Every B2B company should approach their content like a media company. Most fail because they half-ass steps a-d, so they can quickly get to step e. a. Have extreme clarity of your ICP b. Deeply understand their needs and problems c. Create content that solves those problems in a way that earns their undivided attention d. Build loyalty through your ability to solve those problems  e. Earn the right to sell them your non-content product at the right time for them. 2) Informed by data, not beholden to data. - If you are attached to attribution, you’ll only create content that serves folks at the end of the customer journey today at the expense of building trust with those who may be there tomorrow.  3) Stands for something (strong POV, clear character). - Everyone says “people follow people.” Want to know why that’s true? Because people have personalities. And personalities are what make the people you follow unique from everyone else. Businesses & brands are no different. The most beloved brands have great personalities that are the result of a strong point of view, a memorable voice, and unique knowledge that helps you. 4) Willing to be different.  - Historically, playing it safe never got anyone fired. But times are changing. There’s more competition than ever before. There’s more content than ever before. Consumers have the leverage to expect more/better & playing it safe just isn’t going to cut it anymore.

Building Personal Brands that Optimize for Trust, not Virality

You can follow every content tip in the book: Use trending audio. Post 3x a day. Put text on screen. And still get stuck. Those aren’t wrong… they’re just surface-level. If you want to play the long game, you need more than beginner tactics. I’ve spent over 16 years helping creators shape content that lasts. These 5 principles come up time after time: 1. Use Data to Guide the Next Post → Build a simple tool to rank your posts. → Spot the patterns. Let winners guide what’s next. → It’s like giving your content a report card—except you should take this one seriously ;) 2. Remix Your Top Performers → Artists don’t make one hit and move on. → They remix, drop an acoustic, or get someone else to collab on it. → Turn your best posts into templates. 3. Innovate Your CTAs (Calls-to-Action) → Super direct CTA’s often kill reach. → Figure out a way to make your audience aware of your thing without the ask. → Ex: If you’re a vlogger selling an energy drink, always show yourself cracking one open mid-video. 4. Tailor to the Platform → TikTok ≠ IG ≠ LinkedIn. → Optimize for each platform individually → Don’t just repost, re-package 5. Tracking Everything Isn’t Productive → More data ≠ more clarity. → Pick 2–3 metrics that actually change your decisions. → Ours? Conversions, views, and watch time These aren’t just the latest “hacks” They’re habits of thoughtful creators who build brands that last. These are some of mine—what’s one content lesson you wish someone told you earlier?

After managing hundreds (maybe thousands) of SEO campaigns… I've distilled content creation down to a science. Here are 6 core pillars that actually move the needle: 1. Smart Keyword Selection Search volume is a vanity metric. Focus on these factors instead: • Relevance to your business goals • Commercial intent signals • Click-through rate potential Pro tip: 60% of Google searches end without a click. Pick keywords where people actually click through to websites. 2. The Uniqueness Factor Google's drowning in AI-generated content. Your advantage? Being genuinely different. Here's how: • Conduct original research (even small studies work) • Share first-hand experience and opinions • Create fresh data sets • Build user-generated content around polarizing topics AI can't replicate human experience. Use that. 3. Perfect Intent Matching Want to rank? Match the format that's already working (while adding your unique spin). Simple process: • Search your target keyword • Study the top 3 results • Note the content format (list, guide, comparison) • Create something similar but better If Google shows informational content, don't try to rank commercial pages. Work with the algorithm, not against it. 4. Content Quality Standards Great content isn't about word count. It's about clarity and engagement: • Write like you're talking to one person • Use simple language (no jargon) • Break up text with headings and bullets • Add visuals that actually add value • Edit ruthlessly 5. Topic Authority Building One great page isn't enough. Build supporting content around your main topic: • Start with branded keywords (easiest wins) • Target competitor comparisons • Create problem-aware content • Build educational resources Each piece should link to others, creating a content hub that Google loves. 6. Technical Foundation All the great content in the world won't rank if your technical SEO is broken: • Page speed under 3 seconds • Mobile-first design • Proper URL structure • Internal linking strategy • Schema markup where relevant Stop pumping out random blog posts. Start building strategic content assets that serve your business goals. Every piece should either educate your audience or move them closer to becoming customers.

Why Your Content Gets Views But No Business? Ever posted something that went viral, racked up thousands of likes, comments, and shares—only to see zero results for your business? It’s frustrating, right? Here’s why it happens: Viral content and converting content are NOT the same. Viral Content: ✅ Grabs attention ✅ Entertains or sparks emotions ✅ Gets people to react But it often lacks strategy. Converting Content: ✅ Builds trust ✅ Solves a problem for your target audience ✅ Drives action toward your offer The Difference?  Viral content is about broad visibility. Converting content is about intentional, targeted impact. Here’s how to create content that drives business: 1️⃣ Speak to Your Ideal Audience ➡️ Instead of trying to please everyone, tailor your content to your dream client or customer. ➡️ Example: A skincare brand could write, “5 skincare myths that are secretly damaging sensitive skin,” instead of “5 general tips for great skin.” 2️⃣ Solve Specific Problems ➡️ Identify the pain points of your audience and offer actionable solutions. ➡️ Example: A post that says, “Struggling to write cold emails that get replies? Here’s a 3-step template,” will attract leads more than vague advice about communication. 3️⃣ Include a Clear Call-to-Action (CTA) ➡️ End every post with ONE clear next step. ➡️ Example: “Want a full guide on this? DM me with ‘EMAIL’ and I’ll send it to you!” 4️⃣ Leverage Authority with Proof ➡️ Share case studies, testimonials, or real-world examples of your work. ➡️ Example: “We helped a small e-commerce brand grow sales by 40% in 3 months with this strategy.” 5️⃣ Stay Consistent with Value ➡️ Build trust over time by showing up regularly with insights your audience can use. ➡️ Example: Weekly tips, before-and-after results, or answering FAQs in your niche. Framework for Converting Content: 👉🏻Hook: Grab attention with a relatable or intriguing line. 👉🏻Problem: Call out a specific pain point. 👉🏻Solution: Share actionable advice or a unique insight. 👉🏻Proof: Back it up with examples or results. 👉🏻CTA: Tell them what to do next. ♻️ Repost to help your network turn views into results.

🚫 STOP creating sales-driven content. I can promise you one thing… Your audience is tired of being sold to. What they’re really craving is VALUE. They want to know how you can make their lives better. They want to know how you can solve their problems. By focusing on content that addresses these needs: You build trust. You build authority. You build loyalty. And here’s what happens next: They keep coming back for more. They share your content with others. They start reaching out when they’re ready to buy. At the end of the day, it’s about them, not you. So how do you create content that converts into $$? Understand Your Audience’s Pain Points —> Research their specific problems through social listening. Provide Solutions Through Content —> Offer actionable advice or tips that directly address these pain points. Use Storytelling to Connect Emotionally —> Share relatable stories that resonate with your audience’s struggles. Educate, Don’t Sell —> Focus on teaching something new, positioning yourself as an expert. Offer Free Resources or Tools —> Provide downloadable resources that offer immediate value. Analyze What’s Working and Iterate —> Regularly review performance and refine your strategy based on data. Give them what they need, and the sales will follow. P.S. Are you too focused on sales-driven content? Be honest!

When it comes to social media my goal has always been to focus on my audience and adopt a client-centric mindset. Every post is intended to provide value to you. Every post is designed to help you while I share some stories along the way. Shifting to a client-centric mindset has been the key to my social media growth. And it’s often why others fail to grow. They make their posts all about them or they are boring and provide information that you can easily google. Adopting this mindset is important because it transforms the way you post and ensures your content provides real value to others. Here are some best practices to maintain the client-centric approach on social media: 1. Adopt a Client-Centric Mindset: Focus on what benefits your audience rather than showcasing your achievements. 2. Avoid Self-Promotion: Refrain from posting about awards or personal accolades. If you do post these, tell a story and make it about others. 3. Provide Value: Only share content that is helpful and relevant to your audience. 4. Show Rather Than Tell: Demonstrate your expertise through valuable insights and actionable advice. 5. High-Quality Content: Consistently post well-crafted and informative content. 6. Be Present: Regularly engage with your audience to remain top of mind with them. 7. Ask Key Questions: Before you post, ask yourself, “What's in it for my audience?" and "How can I provide value?" 8. Rethink and Rewrite: If a post doesn't answer these questions, reconsider its value. 9. Reinforce Expertise: Focus on content that highlights your knowledge without directly stating it. 10. Engage and Interact: Actively respond to comments and messages to build stronger relationships. Following these best practices will help you transform your social media presence and effectively engage with your audience. Udi Ledergor 🏳🌈, former CMO and current Chief Evangelist at Gong, is a marketing mastermind who helped grow the company from zero to over $200 million in revenue in just 5-6 years. His insights on B2B branding and content marketing are pure gold for any marketer or founder looking to stand out in a crowded market. In our conversation, Udi shares: 🌮 The secret sauce behind Gong's content marketing success 🌮 Why being different is better than being better 🌮 The three key elements of effective content 🌮 How to create a brand that generates raving fans 🌮 Why brand is too important to leave to marketing alone Listen now 👇 Youtube - https://lnkd.in/eaMVNZRz Spotify - https://lnkd.in/e-RqsVHk Apple - https://lnkd.in/evFJhuB5 KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. Different is Better Than Better: To stand out, focus on being different rather than marginally better. It's easier to be unique than to be 20 times better than the competition. 2. Content is King in Branding: Udi's first step in building Gong's brand was creating unique, data-driven content through Gong Labs. This approach provided valuable insights to their audience at minimal cost. 3. The Three Elements of Effective Content: a) Hyper-relevant: Make it clear that the content is specifically for your target audience. b) Interesting and timely: Create a sense of urgency for consuming the content now. c) Immediately applicable: Ensure the content can be put to use right away. 4. Brand is a Company-Wide Effort: "Brand is too important to leave to marketing." Every employee interaction, from support to recruiting, contributes to brand perception. 5. Create Raving Fans: Focus on delivering exceptional experiences across all touchpoints. When customers become vocal advocates, marketing's job becomes amplifying those authentic stories.

Quality v/s Quantity the reality….. Many are falling into the toxic trap of prioritizing post quantity over quality on LinkedIn. But this short-sighted approach is a way for failure. Posting low-quality filler content just to hit some likes does more harm than good. It affects your personal brand and trains your audience to tune you out as noise. The cold hard facts: → Posts with <300 words get 60% less engagement → Void of insights/opinions, they disengage 89% of viewers → Only 19% find value in regurgitated, unoriginal content Instead, you need to engage your audience with thoughtful, VALUE-DRIVEN content that showcases your expertise. A single masterpiece > dozens of mediocre pieces. By focusing on quality over quantity, the benefits are staggering: → 92% higher conversion to leads/clients → 54% more social selling opportunities   → 3X more engagement per post → Solidify yourself as an authority figure Don't play checkers while your competitors play chess. Create content that leverages: ✅ Unique, well-researched insights  ✅ Compelling storytelling/hooks ✅ Real data visualizations ✅ Thought-provoking questions Quality is the new currency to grow on LinkedIn. Prioritize quality over post count, and you'll see exponential rewards. P.S. Struggling to produce A+ content daily? For years, the B2B startup playbook treated "brand" as a fuzzy concept and "content" as just SEO fodder. In the age of AI, this mindset is not just outdated - it’s a huge missed opportunity. Across our portfolio, the B2B companies breaking out aren't always the ones with the most product features or the most aggressive sales reps. They are the ones who realized they aren't just a software company, they are also a media company. In a world where products are getting commoditized overnight, brand is actually an important moat. Here are a few tactics that I've seen work well when building a B2B brand that matters: ✔️ Own a "conversation," not just a "keyword." Instead of just trying to rank for a specific keyword, aim to become the most trusted voice on a single, important conversation in the industry. As my co-founder Scott Hartley always points out, a team that does this brilliantly is our portfolio company Stitch. Based in South Africa, they're not just selling a payments API, they are relentlessly educating the market on the complexities of African fintech, making them the go-to resource long before a sales conversation ever happens. ✔️ Turn internal expertise into public content. Your company is a goldmine of expertise. Your engineers solve complex problems, your sales team has unique market insights, and your customer support team understands user pain points better than anyone. Build a system to mine this internal knowledge and share it generously with the world. ✔️ Treat content with the same rigor as product. Don't just "do content" - have a content roadmap, test different formats, obsess over quality and distribution, and measure the results. Understand that a great piece of content can be a more valuable, long-lasting asset than any single feature of the software (gasp!) Product and sales are still critical, don't get me wrong, but the playbook is changing for B2B. Successful founders are learning to build trust at scale by investing in their brand from day one 🔥 🔥 🔥
