Kitty Condo Update, 2

LC: Wow, The Big Thing is actually doing something on the Kitty Condo. Apparently, he read my post and decided to just try something and see if it worked. I curled up on the fireplace hearth (behind some stuff cause when he is doing things in the basement he isn't all that aware of where we are - all that noise and distraction).

He got 2 of the resting platforms mostly carpetted, and he seemed to be enjoying himself. That's good cause it means he will keep at it (I hope). I told him to take piciatures:

Here are two of the platforms he made before they got carpetted. There are really strong. He tried to pull one apart just to see how strong it was. He couldn't! An if he can't, we sure can't.

This is the other platform. It goes at the middle height an we can get to it from 2 directions.

Here is how he holds the carpet tight to the wood box so he can use the staple gun thingy to hold the carpet in place. The staple gun thingy makes a sudden noise, but it is not all that bad. I hardly flinched at all.

This is the staple gun he is using. He seems really happy about it.

If it makes the Kitty Condo get builded faster, that's all Skeeter and I care about!

This is the carpet and the tools The Big Thing is using to cut it. The knife is really cool. It has a curved blade like a claw. It is even home-made (by The Big Thing's father). He has sharpened it several times. You can see the lines The Big Thing draws on the back of the carpet. He likes that curved claw a lot!

This is a close-up of the carpet-cutting tools. The yellow thingy is for cutting metal (really, I've seen him use it), but it cuts carpet, too. It has ser-rated edges.

This is one of the platforms all carpetted. It looks really comfy! I almost came out and sat in it, but The Big Thing took it up off the floor too quick.

This is the bottom of a platform. Yea, it is even carpetted there. He cut the carpet in the bottom so the post has a good place to hold the platform. And it leaves a place to slip some braces under the carpet. The braces seem important. We are big kitties and jumping on the edges would make the platforms all wobbly. We sure don't want wobblies!

Finally, here are 2 of the 3 platforms. One is all complete, the other needs the carpet put on the bottom and the underside. He says that is the easy part, but his paws were getting all cramped from cutting carpet with the curvey knife thing. Besides, it was time he came upstairs and fed us our good smelly wet food dinner. So I told him to take the camera upstairs, turn off all the basement lights, and feed us.

A condo is great, but kitties need to eat to keep up their strength!

And Skeeter desperately wants some lap time, anyway!
