Mancat Monday

MARLEY:  Well, Im glad to have my Monday slot back!  And I have something very mancatly to show.  I CAUGHT A LIZARD!!!

It was INSIDE the house, which makes it POSSIBLY DANGEROUS.  Heres a close-up...  He lost his tail somewhere (I would have liked to play with that.  I hear they wiggle nicely).

Dont mind the carpet.  Thats a mat in the basement an never hardly sees anny sucky-machine action.

But it was a purrfect place ta bat at the lizard.
I bit him a few times until he was dedded.

And just to be safe, I watched it fer a good long time.  I dint eat it since it was already cold (an there was no tempting smell either).

Garden Tour Thursday

IZA: Thanks fer comin on our garden tour this week!  The weather is lovely today.  We have a few innerestin things ta see...
First, ya may remember how the front landscapin box looked a few weeks ago, with all the early yellow daffodils in bloom.  They looked nice.
And THIS is what the box looked like as the later white daffodils started blooming.  That looked nice too.
Well, here is the box NOW!   The yellow ones are all gone, and the white ones are on their own.  And you'll never guess what?  They are fragrant!  They have a kind of "peachy" smell to them.  You can also see the hostas and painted ferns.  When the daffodil leafs die back inna few weeks, the hostas an ferns will take over for the whole summer...

Now, around back, we have this lovely little plant called Brunnera.  It has the nice leafs all summer, but it only has these pretty little bloo flowers fer a few weeks.

Ooh!  Here's a surprise!  A slizard!!!  An it looks like something grabbed his tail right off.  It wasnt me, I havent caught one of those things yet.  It will be fun to see his tail growing back over the next month.
I hope ya enjoyed the tour this week.  Ayla has put out several bowls of treats up on the deck, and I saw that she had Niptinis an toona juice too.  Please come and join us...

We Found A Lizard (In The House)

Ayla: I'm the one who found it, so I get ta write about it! We were all jus enjoyin the nice weather, so the deck door was left open. We'd all been goin in an out most of the day. The Big Thing was readin his noospaper. Suddenly, I started runnin all around the big easy chair!

Well, I do that sometimes when playin wif my mousie toys, but not so frenetikally, so he paid attention. What ta his wonderin eyes did appear but a little lizard! He expected mebbe it was the mousie what I brought in an released the day or two before, but he sure was surprised ta see the lizard I found.

The Big Thing knew there was a lizard in the yard; he seen it onna garden wall a few times. It musta followed a bugg inta the house or smelled our stinkey goodness. We dont know what lizards eat, but we're pretty sure it usually isnt cat food.

Annyway, lizards arent built fer runnin on smooth wood floors. Skeeter later said it reminded him of the time LC tried ta run across the icy pond. He laffed when he mentioned that, though he politely covered his mouf wif a paw to try ta hide that.

So I chased the lizard around. Well, not "chased" ezactly; it dint move fast enough ta "chase". I followed it around an sniffed it. I batted it a few times, too. It was SO COOL ta have somethin that moved on its own (that mousie was too fast an gotted away from me).

It tried ta hide.

I kept pushing it ta make it move.

Skeeter checked it out, but wasnt all that innerested. LC checked it out too, but not when The Big Thing could get her picture (The lizard had a real talent fer bein hidden by us cats when TBT had the camera ready).

I sniffed it a few times when it stayed still. I wanna sniff aroun outside ta find where they live.
