Friday Flashback.

Off the usual routine of "this week in the past"...   Ayla was being gorgeous back in 2009.

And these are all out of order in time, but she used to climb the tall ladder.

And sit on the roof.

I once watched her do that from the kitchen.  You don't normally expect to see your cat walking up a ladder outside when you are making dinner!

She was young then.  Fearless of heights...

Enjoyed being on the roof.

Right on the edge.

Really high up.  She loved it there.

And she could even climb down on her own.

She isn't just a Princess to me; she is a Wondercat.  Her whole life has been a constant source of amazement and surprize.

Flashback Friday

I thought we would go back farther in time this week.  I'm been doing too much 2011-2014 lately.  The problem is that many of my original earlier pictures are just blank in Photos.  But they  still exist in my more organized files of processed pics, so I went looking.

This day in 2008, Ayla was on the roof!  My TV antenna (remember those?) had fallen over and I set a ladder against the roof to get up there to fix it.  But I didn't do it that day.

Ayla was a climber and ladder-steps didn't bother her.  She had learned from small step ladders and to her, literally "one step led to another".

I first noticed that she was climbing the extension ladder through the kitchen window while preparing dinner.

"Where does this ladder end"?

"Hmm, what is this new place"?

"Do I really want to go there"?

One last step to the roof...

And then she was up on the roof!  Barely a year old, she had mastered tall ladders and she had no fear of heights.  So of course, she explored the roof...

She probably wondered what this strange thing was.

She did look around carefully.  New territory demands careful examination.

A cheap camera on a tripod (with a lucky steady hand at the time) can even take a good long-distance pic.

She noticed me "way down there".

She did not worry in the least about walking along the edge of the roof.

I think she was fascinated by the unobstructed view of the area.  I think she would have climbed Mt Everest if she could.  She did, of course, climb back down the ladder, which had to be a bit more difficult.

Noisy Morning!

What an AWFUL morning we had!  The noise from the roof werk was WORSE than TBT said it would be.  He apologized, explaining that he had heard the noise from other houses on the outside, but dint realize how much LOUDER it was when inside the house.

We spent some time at Alfie's party (which was great BTW), but when we got back, the noise was still goin on.  So we took the Katnip Lounge cats' offer to visit them.  That was a real nice visit!  The Catio is more impressive than pictures show.

But we came back and the noise was STILL goin on, so we stayed in the basement until it was all over.

Thankfully, it will be over a week before the other guys come over to change the siding and rain-catchy-things.  We NEED that long to recover.  And to guilt TBT into giving us more treats than usual...

There are some pictures of the werk that TBT took over HERE!

Now, fergive us, but we gotta LOT of nappin ta catch up on...

I Love My Roof

AYLA: I love gettin up on the roof!

First, I look over at The Big Thing ta make sure it is OK. Sometimes it isnt (like if he thinks it is about ta rain, or it is almost dinnertime).

Then I check the roof carefully ta make sure theres nothin else up there.

I like ta look ofer the edges...

I specially like lookin over the front yard. Sometimes I see other kitties in THEIR yards.

An jus so ya know how high up I am...
