A Sad Day

TBT:   Lapis Lazuli (aka Laz) has crossed The Rainbow Bridge.

Free Printable Rainbow Bridge Poem For Cats / The Rainbow Bridge Poem ...

He is free of the lasting terrible memories of the pit bulls and grabby children of his kittenhood.

He is free of the fears that have followed him his 3+ years here that he was unable to escape.

He is free of the sudden need to attack Ayla before she left us for her own aging difficulties.

He is free of the sudden internal demand to attack Lori, his former BFF.

Laz left our world easily and calmly.   The sedation shot did not bother him at all.  He did not feel his heart stop after the 2nd shot.  He is finally at peace...  The fears in his mind are gone now.

   -----

After I brought him home, I walked around the yard seeking solace.  But everywhere I looked, I remembered seeing him there.  I will never see him in those places again.  And I will never see his amazingly swift run from the far back of the yard to the deck when I called out "dinnertime".

Another hole in my heart...

I will work on a tribute to him...

Twofur Tuesday

Under-Waterbed Buddies In Morning:

Marley and Laz get along OK.  When Laz is calm...

Can We Go Out?:

Yesterday afternoon...

TBT:  Yes, it is still light enough.  They get a little uncertain when I am out and open the door from the deck side because if I am coming in, they think they should stay in too.  And maybe they assume it means mealtime (and often enough, they are right).  I usually open it from the inside when they are allowed out.  They are pretty good about that.

Laz charges the door anytime it is opened though.  In fact, if I don't open it fully or fast enough, he cracks his crazy head against the gap.  ðŸ˜¬

And they don't like walking on dry crunchy deck leaves. You should see them trying to find small bare spots to step in, LOL!  I swept the leaves off after they were down in the yard.  They appreciated that when they returned later...
