The first 2 contestses is to find middle names fer US (Skeeter and LC). Right now, we are just Skeeter Spencer and LC Spencer. We need cool middle names! If the new kitty is Princess Ayla Isabel Spencer, we gotta at least have cool middle names ourselfs...
Be reasonable. I (Skeeter) am not gonna be "King Mouser Extraordanaire", and LC is not gonna be "Queen Beautiful Rainbow Unicorn" or that kinna stuff (ICK!). We want cool single middle names!

Oh So Cool Food!
Ayla's Bein Mommy sent The Big Thing a "coupon code" fer discounted fancy stinky goodness! So he went to the place (easier than huntin them down inna wild). OMG, some Beins are gonna put cases of the good stuffs RIGHT ON OUR DOORSTEP! Is THAT cool or what. Fancy food delivered right to the door.
Wait til y'all see a picture of all THAT. Merrick an Fancy Feast...Yah, we know dat FF stuff isn't as natural, but we sure love it (especially the Florentine Medley), and in small amounts fer breakfast (think about that, we get FF fer BREAKFAST), it cant be too bad. We gotta be about the luckiest kitties onna Earth...
Sorry, we cant decide whether to sit at the top of the stairs an wait fer it, or jus pass out right now (on The Big Thing, of course).

SKEETER:
LC an I arent sure how ta deal wif this new kitty. She hisses at us fer one thing. Growls too... We're tryin ta be all polite an friendly an all, but of course, when she hisses we hiss back. Its not like she is all bigger an stronger an can back up her hissin. So we haf worked out a few rules...
1. We wont hiss first.
2. We wont hiss back the first time she does it.
3. We try to keep our distance when she is outta her little room sniffin aroun.
4. When she shows up, we meow quietly an politely (efen when she growls).
5. We only go sniff places she has been AFTER she leaves the room.
6. Now that the door to the guest room (naturally where she has been stayin) is bein left open, we stick our noses inside and look aroun to try ta get used ta her sight an smell.
7. We dont approach her too close. Howefer, if she is in the hall an we gotta pass her ta get to food, The Big Thing, or the litterboxes, that's her problem!
Good notes:
1. No one has whapped anyone (yet) efen though we are all a bit edgey-feelin.
2. No one has pooped or peed inappropriately from stress.
3. LC an I are a little confoosed, but its been a long time since a strange kitty was IN the cave.
4. Efryone is eatin normal (if ya can call that new kittys appetite "normal"). We mean, GEEZ, she is like a sucky machine! Efry day, SEVERAL bowls of food go in there and they come out licked clean!
5. We are gettin tastes of better/differnt food. LC likes the new dry Evo stuff. We both think the new Evo canned stuff is "innerestin" (more meat, but some undertastes of plants). We think we prefer the ole standard Friskies, but we could get along wif this new stuff an The Big Thing says it might be better fer us.
Bad notes:
1. The Big Thing has called the new kitty "LC" several times. We figure his mind is kinna weak. It mus think after all these years of jus US, "male kitty - Skeeter" "female kitty - LC".
2. We can hardly get a picture taken of US. The camera is allus "full". I know, I haf complined that I dont like my picture bein took alla time, but that was before he stopped takin my picture alla time...
3. We cant sleep inna guest room cause THAT cat is livin in there.
4. When Ayla does come outta her room, she moves aroun like a para-annoyd rat, all jumpy and skittery an slinkin. We nefer know when we come aroun a corner if she will be there an hiss at us. Then run away at like 10 squillion paws per second!
The Big Thing has some pictures of Ayla to show. I should jus give up fer a while. Ya jus cant compete wif kittens... :(
Here she is sniffin at a box. She sniffs at EFRYTHIN! Ya would think she nefer had anythin ta sniff at before comin here...
The Big Thing finds it hard ta get pictures of her (so why doesnt he jus stop tryin?) cause she keeps comin to him efrytime she gets nervous. He hadda take this one almos straight down.
She IS kinna funny. She looks aroun corners wif her head low an her butt up inna air. Very inexperienced... The way to go aroun dangerous corners is back legs down an ready ta spring, head up for good seeing, and a front paw forward.
Here I am again, watchin her skitter aroun from place to place, jus starin. Shes weerd. Im watchin careful to try an learn more about her. LC jus naps on the waterbed an says "jus tell me when she is OK to talk to".
She doesnt speak much. I stuck my head inna the door ta her room an she aktally talked to me a little from unner the bed. She says she has nefer seen ANY kitty but her Momma and littermates and the litter was all taken away but fer her.
Well, gee, I kinna feel bad fer her fer all that, but she doesnt know what a kitty farm an a pet store cage was like (like me an LC went through). So she is a bit scaart, but she doent unnerstan it coulda been a lot worse.
So we will try to follow our Ifriendly" rules (above) an wait til she gets more comfortable an less hissy. I sure dont remember it bein this tricky when LC first arived, but I was young then too. Mebbe I just forget. LC says she hid from me in terror fer days, so mebbe this is normal.
The Big Thing is bein a little mean. He has promised us special treats fer whoever of us sits nex ta the Ayla-kitty without any hissin. Double fer nappin together. Bet THAT doesnt happen fer a while... But I bet I do first...
*** UPDATE! This evening Skeeter and Ayla touched noses briefly with some mewing and ate a few bites from nearby foodbowls before a hiss broke out an they both ran. One day at a time... The Big Thing ***
