Κακοποίηση ζώων για την παραγωγή του "καλύτερου καφέ στον κόσμο" - Συγκλονιστικό ΒΙΝΤΕΟ
Συγκλονιστικό Βίντεο που περιγράφει και παρουσιάζει σε εικόνες την κακοποίηση που υφίσταται η ασιατική μοσχογαλή Paradoxurus hermaphroditus για την παραγωγή του διάσημου καφέ Kopi luwak έδωσε στη δημοσιότητα η φιλοζωική οργάνωση PETA, σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα του ιστότοπου econews.gr.

Στηρίξτε την απαγόρευση πωλήσεων καλλυντικών δοκιμασμένων σε ζώα
Ας υπενθυμίσουμε όλοι στην ΕΕ ότι τα ζώα βασανίζονται απαράδεκτα
Ας σταματήσει αυτό τουλάχιστον το 2013 χωρίς παράταση
Συγκεκριμένα, παρά την απαγόρευση των καλλυντικών δοκιμασμένων σε ζώα στην Ευρώπη (τον Μάρτιο του 2009), οι πωλήσεις παρόμοιων καλλυντικών επιτρέπονται ως το 2013, εφόσον τα πειράματα στα ζώα έγιναν ... εκτός Ευρώπης. Όπως μας ενημερώνει η Animal Aid , λόγω των πιέσεων από τις ομάδες προώθησης συμφερόντων (lobby), η ημερομηνία ενδέχεται να παραταθεί , κάτι που σημαίνει παράταση της απίστευτης σκληρότητας και βασανισμού σε πειράματα με ζώα...
Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή "πιεζόμενη" θα προτείνει αυτή την παράταση , οπότε παρόμοια καλλυντικά δοκιμασμένα σε ζώα θα πωλούνται ελεύθερα στην Ευρώπη ακόμη και πέραν του 2013.
Η Animals Aid παρακαλεί όλους μας να υπογράψουμε να γίνει τουλάχιστον το 2013 το χρονικό όριο που θα παύσει αυτή η άδικη αγριότητα κατά των ζώων:
Υπενθυμίζεται ότι τα πειράματα αυτά προκαλούν πολύ πόνο και ότι τα ζώα υποφέρουν. Δέχονται χημικά στο στομάχι τους ή στην ξυρισμένη επιδερμίδα τους , μέσω των οποίων προκαλούνται σοβαρές οργανικές βλάβες. Υπάρχουν 8.000 καλλυντικές ουσίες ασφαλείς , χωρίς να έχουν δοκιμαστεί σε ζώα, οι οποίες χρησιμοποιούνται από πολλές εταιρίες που είναι ενάντια σε αυτά τα πειράματα . Τα καλλυντικά δεν είναι τόσο σημαντικά και ουσιώδη προϊόντα , ενώ δεν διαφαίνεται κάποια σημαντική προσπάθεια να αναπτυχθούν εναλλακτικές μέθοδοι χωρίς τη χρήση ζώων, όπως ορίζεται από την Οδηγία "2003/15/EC".
Τo παρακάτω κείμενο μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί στην επιστολή προς την ΕΕ και την υπογραφή σας :
"The tests cause great suffering. They involve force-feeding chemicals into an animal’s stomach or applying them to their shaved skin. Symptoms include organ damage, nausea, inflammation and convulsions.
Cosmetics are non-essential products. It is morally unacceptable that animals should suffer in the course of producing what many regard as trivial items.
This is not a public safety issue. More than 8,000 cosmetic ingredients are already available, each of them established as safe. They are currently being used by many cruelty-free companies participating in the international “Leaping Bunny” scheme.
Product innovation will not come to an end. Novel products can continue to be introduced onto the market, but all testing must be done using non-animal methods. If appropriate validated tests are not yet available, then these must be developed before the product is introduced. For as long as exemptions to the ban are permitted and extended, there is a lack of incentive to develop animal-free methods, as required by the Directive.
Companies have had plenty of time to develop alternatives. The relevant Directive (2003/15/EC) was introduced in February 2003 – and, of course, the debate and legislative moves go back many years before that time".

ΕΚΚΛΗΣΗ PETA (PEOPLE FOR ETHICAL TREATMENT ON ANIMALS): ΟΧΙ ΣΤΗ ΣΧΟΛΙΚΗ ΒΙΑ ΤΩΝ ΖΩΩΝ
Today, many schools still permit animals to be cut open by students as part of biology, anatomy, and other courses. However, if you're in grades K-12 and attend a public school in California, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Virginia, you can just say "No!" to dissection. These states, along with some other school districts, have dissection choice laws or policies in place.
Unfortunately, private schools aren't covered by those laws.
More and more students from elementary schools to veterinary and medical schools are taking a stand against dissection before it happens in their classes. Every year, millions of animals—frogs, cats, mice, dogs, and others—are killed and shipped off to schools, where young people are given scalpels and told to slice up the animals' bodies as part of biology, anatomy, and other courses. YUCK!
It's disgusting, and it's wrong. But fighting against it is easy—and you have the right. Thousands of students have done it, and so can you. You might be the first person at your school to refuse—so do it! Express yourself and be a trendsetter, a trailblazer, and a hero for animals.

ΕΚΚΛΗΣΗ PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) ΓΙΑ ΥΠΟΓΡΑΦΕΣ ΚΑΤΑ ΤΩΝ ΠΕΙΡΑΜΑΤΟΖΩΩΝ
A distraught whistleblower from Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories (SNBL), a notorious Everett, Washington-based animal testing conglomerate, recently contacted PETA to reveal shocking allegations of mistreatment of animals used in painful and lethal experiments.
The whistleblower shared photos and videos taken inside SNBL showing sick, traumatized monkeys suffering horribly from tests in which they were injected with experimental chemicals. Monkeys tethered to their cages shivered uncontrollably as an ice-cold solution was continuously dripped into their veins. Other monkeys endured the pain of severely bruised arms, swollen eyes, and broken fingers and tails, resulting from violent and sometimes sadistic handling by callous workers. PETA has filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Agriculture urging it to investigate these disturbing allegations and issue fines for any violations that it uncovers.
In addition to conducting cruel tests on dogs, monkeys, mice, rabbits, and other animals, SNBL also imports thousands of monkeys each year into the U.S.—for its own use and to sell to other laboratories. These monkeys are transported to the U.S. in the dark and terrifying cargo holds of planes, often on passenger flights just below unsuspecting customers. While most major airlines refuse to take part in the violent primate trade, an increasingly small group of airlines continues to profit from animals' misery by transporting monkeys destined for U.S. laboratories.
Please take a few moments now to urge airlines that still transport monkeys to U.S. laboratories, including SNBL, to adopt a formal policy against the transportation of nonhuman primates for use in experiments.
